Derptrollz tbh it was a stupid idea, two people, not even into cars, gets a crash course in drifting.. i can only hope, for the sake of fifth gear, they learned controlled donuts beforehand. Also the way they reacted to the 'crash', im sure shell never convince anyone to try drifting
I just want to publicly thank you for this video because this was the only one I watched on how to drift and I used this technique in an accident to drift and miss a telephone pole while out of control and regain it landing myself safely and unharmed. It may seem small and stupid but Thank you
Icecicle83 just get some trays from mcdonnalds, put them under the back tires of the corolla, pull the handbrake so they wont go anywhere and have fun))
Honestly I don't get how you could think that that is a good way of teaching someone to drift.. They may be way better drivers than I but I sure as hell could teach better lol I'd say to learn you have to learn to kick the back out a little bit and exit the drift safely only then progressively can you increase the speed and angle. Great show though.. going for the "just slam the throttle and try to catch it" approach is sure to get some exciting Nissan vs wall action lol
Cosmetic, but extremely expensive to repair, ROTFLMAO. That's probably $8k worth of body work. Just the Nismo front nose is expensive and likely to be on backorder for a month.
I know a lot of internet drivers, say this is easy. I can tell you first hand it is not. I learned using a 08 crown Victoria interceptor spec. however its is one of those things like riding a bike once you get it: you GET it. I don't think it matters male or female, its not something you learn in an hour of training. . it took me two weeks of 4 hour classes to navigate the course they had with 9 bends(18 trasfers). that's 40 hours of class time, which im told is pretty standard for anyone to reach their prime requsites benchmarks. mike hawks adv driving school in Poway.
HIDDENRAINN I can't seem to drift well in GTAV... the cars have too much friction... and when the friction is somehow lessened it just goes off sideways and not actually turning
monkey lover I know they aren't real, I'm not stupid. I just know that if it worked for him it should work for me, unless he has a drifting mod installed.
Both of these gentlemen have balls of steel. I would never get in a passenger seat with either of these two attempting their first drift. You should slowly develop a relationship with your car before learning to balance it on the limit, obviously the presenters knew this when the one girl said she hadn't driven a manual in years; she might as well have never drove a car.
To the people posting the sexist comments: This maneuver is very difficult. It takes years to master it. These women did very well for beginners. I'd bet that they do better than most of the men posting sexist comments. But that's why you're here on youtube posting sexist comments and not on a race track isn't it?
I never found drifting that difficult tbh... I used to drift my cousin's Nissan Frontier Nismo everywhere around the neighborhood and did donuts and everything.
I know you're not a native English speaker,so I'm gonna fix your sentence. Fix: "In Fast and Furious 3, Hans said you can't learn drifting. You need to feel it."
Amazing how the comments just diss the way the program done it. I bet if this was on Top Gear everyone would be like "OH MAH GHAD THIS IS SUCH AN AWESOME EPISODE AHHHHH".
No im sorry. Trying to judge this on its own merits but all I see is a poor attempt at copying the Top Gear formula without any of the hunour style or production values. Yes I know fiftg gear has been around at least as long as Top Gear but its just not the same without Clarkson Hammond and May
I used to love top gear up until the last few series where it became less about cars and more about humour. I wouldn't have minded too much if they weren't the unfunniest people on television. I found their comedy way too PC (presumably because of the BBC) and stale so it turned into a programme of shitty, predictable jokes made while driving cars.
The amount of sexist comments on here is apalling, especially considering that half the guys commenting have probably never even driven a rear wheel drive car before, the issue is not the students it's the teachers expecting them to run before they can walk, they didn't even teach them how to donut, the first thing everyone learns when learning how to drift, and plus the cars have way more power than what is needed when learning, most bullshit drifting video I've ever seen
I know how to drift, yet, I've never done a donut. My car has an open diff and only around 100hp, so it's quite hard to drift, I have to do a lot of weight transfer, and due to it having an open diff I never even tried to do a donut.. Just gonna one wheel peel it
to drift perfectly you press L1 or R1 then immediately press it again and hold it this time and then just steer using directional left or right and remember not to hold left or right for too long or you will either exit the drift or spin in that direction :D
The fuck is up with all the "stay in the kitchen" and "teaching a woman to drive" comments? I mean, if it was just one or two I'd write them off as just assholes, but it's several comments with hundreds of likes each. Also, I really want to see how this schooling thing plays out. I dunno. It looked to me like they might've gotten it sooner or later. That's exactly the kind of instruction that I would likely need to get it done. Take it too seriously, and I'd lose enthusiasm and such.
Mia Ray Well I didn't mean it that way. The instructors don't seem to even care if their students learn at all. And it seems like they don't even expect them to. There's no way the girls are going to learn like that. Especially when they don't know about taking corners on a track.
I did notice that they were taking the corners a little slow. That's not a low-speed corner, and yet they were taking it in second gear, I think it was. Or was it third. Either way, they needed a lot more speed for it. But that still doesn't explain to me why everyone is making these jokes.
The very first thing someone should be learning when drifting is before they even get on the track. Weight distribution and learning how to throw the front of the car sideways to kick out the back is crucial for drifting.
The driver's lesson didn't teach them enough, some of them their safety sense are not as good as those average drivers, the lesson is just too easy to pass.
So basically when your about to hit a corner you go full throttle to spin the wheels and you turn one way to get angle and turn the other way to hold it right?
Some ppl, like me even as a kid i was leaning forwards on my bikes handlebars locking rear tire up to slide, and u get that feeling of over steer. A lot of girls that never rode bikes, quads, go-carts, etc dont.
how to drift perfectly - Practice.. there is no tut on perfection.. its an art and you have to master it by practicing.. change the title its incorrect
See you're doing it on a nice safe track. Me, picture it mid 80's Ford Crown Victoria. Coming downhill on an entrance ramp to Interstate 95. Back end tried to come around and kiss the front end on that one.
It's fun reading all these "back to kitchen" comments. Hope you guys are not just keyboard warriors and really do know how to drift a car properly. Whoever knows how to drift knew that it's not a proper way to learn this course. It's not their fault when their 'teachers' doesnt know to teach.
Seriously, for an average person, pulling off a drift on the first session is a pipe dream. So they managed to grasp initiation, and one of them almost managed to catch it. The third and most difficult bit - exiting a drift - is well, something for next time!
For sale - Two 370z Nismos. Never driven hard or abused. Salvage title due to minor paint damage. Should buff right out. Must see to believe!!
+1tokeover Hahah, don't be so sure. The Nismo bodykit is expensive and that front bumper is surprisingly time consuming to purchase and replace.
+1tokeover "lady driver".
"lady driven car"
1tokeover LMFAO shit was too funny
new set of tires included
Poor 370z's
Dark Stryker These two girls set back women driving about 5 years.
Uhhhhhh that poor nismo .ahahahaaaaaaaa i loved the look of that car but girls can never drive
pranjal sharma 1000 % agree. I know a couple of exceptions, but only a couple.
Why? These Machines were made for fun/taking a beating. A Nismo that just sits in a garage is depressing.
Learning to drift is easy:
First, buy a car.
Second, blast some eurobeat
Third, buy a car
LMAO
Probably should have taught them how to drive normal first.
This is like learning to fly in the space shuttle
DaBrute Hahaha, thanks for the laugh! You win the best comment of year award!
Walking gamer I bet you've never had a proper girlfriend have you?
!
Walking gamer besides your sexism and ignorant stereotyping?
I was hoping they would bring in just normal car enthusiasts who haven't tried drifting before and teach them how. This is just stupid
Problem is what (real) car enthusiast hasn't tried drifting yet 😂
@@Erik-ko3kw i thought the same
yeah...
That'd be me...though i've been wanting to..
People with fwd cars.....
I bet Clarkson was hiding outside the track with binoculars watching Amy Williams
Alexdude1997 I mean... can you blame him?
chad paul Nope, she aint like them fake ugly blondes in those 1200HP supra vids.
Alexdude1997 Right!? She's brittish, she's natural, she's beautiful. I wonder if she has any younger cousins or something..
chad paul those GORGEOUS GREEN EYES...
chad paul Dude, her nose is huge though.... almost as bad as Leona Lewis...
Drifting is art, one can't simply drift "perfectly"
damn right boi!
takes months of practice just to be able to kinda slide into corners without spinning out,and thats not even really a drift
Well said sir
Yes someone can
Everyone has their own perfect, like skateboarding
Damn right brother
that poor 370z
hi
I just want to publicly thank you for this video because this was the only one I watched on how to drift and I used this technique in an accident to drift and miss a telephone pole while out of control and regain it landing myself safely and unharmed. It may seem small and stupid but Thank you
DAS AMAZING
Wow
Sometimes we learn through situations, kiddos 🎉
I wish I had the resources to do this, I want to learn so bad.
There are classes/courses in many countries/cities that allow you to pay a fee and give it a try with an instructor.
zdrux Yeah, but only one near me is like $1200 for the cheapest, which isn't really feasible for a college student.
Icecicle83 Yea, I got a full time job and that is pricey! Well.. looks like it's an empty parking lot for you then :)
zdrux Lol :) Little front-wheel drive corollas don't work so well for that :)
Icecicle83
just get some trays from mcdonnalds, put them under the back tires of the corolla, pull the handbrake so they wont go anywhere and have fun))
... is it me, or wouldn't the Toyota GT 86 have been a much better "drift-learner" car ??
Nah, I think the Subaru BRZ would have been a much better 'drift-learner' car.
Dulba is same car with toyota gt 86
,isn't it ?! :D
Not enough power. It's good to learn with more power, and master with less power.
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Less grip though. It is very easy to get oversteer with no grip.
Skinny tires = excellent drifting material
Waste of my 7 mins honestly. I was expecting something better.
+The DeFauLTzzz Same here.

Juan Galvis Not to mention that they could do this in a parking lot-like track instead of a damn turn with a beefy wall right next to it.
Juan Galvis why is it a wet track lol. what is that going to teach them
Bo Huggabee it is so it becomes easy to break traction and you can slide at slower speeds than on a dry course
Juan Galvis or you can start with a car with less cc and bhp
Juan Galvis it is also way harder to keep the drift under control on a wet track tho.
Wow i thought i was gonna actually learn how to drift perfectly 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Notice how Tiff and the rally driver are able to spin the car around and yet keep it on the track! That is some car control.
5:14 i've never seen such understeer with RWD in my whole life :O this woman is a magician
There was literally to little grip.
Discoloured Buttflaps i had it in asseto corsa too
that's what happens when your ABS is off and you try to turn while pressing the brakes
I think they should have taught them how to drive in general before even attempting to drift.
So... you gotta win a Pentathlon to drift a 370z for free?
Well...Shit.
Good luck

I came across this term in a book called A Star Reborn and this is so cool! I believe that there's at least a drift in almost every blockbuster.
I thought it would actually be an instructional video, not comedy...

Tiff Needell and gentlemen and a BADASS at the same time!
3:15 "OH GOSH YESS"
The most impressive part is the 370 has viscous diffs. Tiff can seemingly powerslide anything that has power.
I'd love to learn how to drift.....if it helps I'm an expert on forza! :P
A Cute Fox pretty much the same principles but much harder because you have more factors contributing to your drift

*didnt even do 1 drift*
Lol denting a car is doing well? Damn idiot
men tend to be more generous with giving the car throttle and pushing angle so theres a grain of truth underneath a few layers of misogyny.
Quite ambitious starting out on an actual track. Now you not only have to learn to control the drift but also place the car accurately.
Why did they use two airhead athletes?
The giggling alone would have done my head in. They should have just got guys who've actually always wanted to learn how to do this
But they figured watching 2 bimbos fail at it would be more entertaining
Heartbreaking....
UK always disrespecting Japanese sport cars smh
go 3:37 onwards..
the road is wet, is it really drifting or is it just hydroplanning
They were secretly have a crisis in the passenger seats when Tiff and Mark were showing them how to do it. I love Amy too. She's adorable.

Should it be ever legit to smack the shit out of anyone? Unless they threaten your kids or something like that?
Kaisiru I can make you drink me
These are awesome videos
Couldve taught them to power slide in a very open area at first.
This is brilliant stuff!
Notice how both the "how to drift" and "how to drift perfectly" vids on this channel feature a Nissan Fairlady car....hmm I wonder why....
Living in the country, an empty field, a couple inches of snow on, and a 5.0L F-150 has taught me how to drift. I guess you could say self-taught. lol
That ain't really drifting tho,its kinda just sliding through the snow if you ask me..
I dont get why tiff says its about power to the wheels.. You can also brake drift...
DEDICATED 2 CARS its easyer for starters to make small breaks first to learn how to handle thr car
What channel is this on in the UK? I thought it was channel 5 but they've moved?
Whos idea was it to use white cars?
+Drew Lauro White cars on the narrowest possible track possible too.. They couldn't have found a large parking lot or a wider track?
Drew Lauro why does it matter the color? You sound dumb as fuck
...dents and scratches you ignorant shit
@@legalobligations wow how dumb are you? if scratches are the reason then white would be the best colour

The damn sexist jokes. Just like the racist jokes, they will never die.
The very first thing someone should be learning when drifting is before they even get on the track. Weight distribution and learning how to throw the front of the car sideways to kick out the back is crucial for drifting.

Tip for keeping your tires intact and holding slides longer: grease the track on a wet day.
they drive worse than my mom
So basically when your about to hit a corner you go full throttle to spin the wheels and you turn one way to get angle and turn the other way to hold it right?
