I have heard Krassimira Stoyanova often when she was in the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera. She was always very good already then (except maybe in Mozart which was never really her cup of tea), and has since developed into one of the best performers of roles especially from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The richness and 'ring' of the tone, the effortless evenness of the sound production, the vivid, warm, detailed and yet never mannered interpretation are really quite spectacular.
Stoyanova's only 'weakness' (it isn't really one, since she still is so much better than other sopranos) is that, although her high notes are rounded and beautiful, the voice doesn't get the extra drive and strength in the high register some 19th and 20th century parts require.
Tatyana's aria, however, 'sits' comfortably in the medium and lower register with occasional leaps to higher notes, perfectly in sync with Stoyanova's wonderful instrument.
She is truly one of the great singers of our time
I was in the audience at the Met in 2001 (20 years ago) when she made her debut as Violetta in La Traviata and I remember thinking how did a super model get a gig singing at the Met??... She was stunning in every sense of the word and her voice made all of her aesthetic seem inconsequential.

High quality in interpretation: Superb voice and emotion, attentive conductor and orchestra.
I heard her live several times live at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2002. She is very much underrated and quite impressive.

I think is actually not. Think about, what this scene is! She is super excited, maybe firstly in life! She even can’t understand all this overwhelming emotions maybe! While other Sopranos or Conductors plays slower, must be there not the correct one. I really like this here. Pure emotion in frame of the score and lyrics.
She’s so close to being truly wonderful. A beautiful voice and nuanced interpreter. But where is the dynamic variety? Some of this is meant to me the most infinite confessions imaginable - needs to be delivered in a silvery pianissimo, and yet the score is never adhered to when he dynamic is quiet.
