- We've had hard rain, flooding and lots of brown water so I haven't surfed in 4 days! I decided to make a Gerry Lopez Board review since I don't have any new surf footage. It hasn't rained all day today so I'm pretty sure I'll be back in the water tomorrow and a new video very soon.

Finally got them at my local Costco and picked one up because of you. Thanks for the recommendation. This is my first longer board and it’s so easy to catch waves on after learning on a short board. Just struggle with making it out sometimes when there is a lot of waves crashing.
@@zay47green That’s great to hear, stoked! Yes you need to get good at the turtle roll or lifting your upper body off the board while submerging the board a bit allowing the water to flow in between you and the board. You just gave me an idea for a video 🤙🏾

I love my Gerry. For the past 3 years I’ve ridden it more than my other boards. The FCS style boxes let you put in your favorite fins. I ride keels and a nubster.🤙🏻

The "New" Gerry Lopez foamies come equipped with Futures fins now. Maybe to prevent newbies from installing the 2-tab FCS fins in backwards ?

Do you remember the morning that hurricane Iniki was hitting Kaua'i ? Talk about Brown water, the whole Beach Park was washed out all the way to ala Moana boulevard... I got the second to the last flight out before they closed HNL, headed straight Hilo after listening to civil defense sirens in Haleiwa going off since 4:30 in the morning. Could see bits of the Ala wai taking off... That's what it reminded me of when you showed all that brown water 🤙🏼 ho, nice that Costco special eh
Crazy I remember, I was in Makakilo for Iniki and Iwa and all the tress got knocked over and felt like the house was gonna blow over 🙏🏾👍🏾
@@NobuSurf was sketch bra, came down hard in Hilo landed like A bouncing beach ball. Surf was so good in town the day before that, crazy only three people died in total I think Kaua'i and Oahu combined 🤙🏼
The day before Iniki was epic. The south shore was clean and pumping!

Aloha $99 i used to break boards when i was a teen and couldnt afford to buy a new one , so i switched to bodyboarding , mostly Makapuu and Sandys Alan Davis Sandys Coastline when i lived Kailua, but living near Waikiki now and 99$ i think i could handle Mahalo for video. Aloha DSC777
Right on bra, ya get em so fun! I just took it out near double overhead today. Even broke 2 of them in over head surf and Costco replaced them for me no questions asked 🤙🏾
That reminds me of my 8' Herbie Fletcher. A really fun board. Does it hang 5?

I know it cost more but I'd love to see you on a 6'6 Carch Surf Skipper or 6'5 Catch Surf RNF.

For $100 these things ride shockingly well. Wavestorms are more maneuverable but these things are real gliders.
I agree well worth $100 and if you put better fins on it moves around a lot better 🤙🏾
