True. I'm interested in buying a new car but these extremely high dealer markups turned me to a used Lexus instead. Greedy dealerships are keeping all sales numbers lower

My wife has a 2024 Crown, Platinum edition. 330 hp, very quick, ultra smooth ride, very comfortable, & regular gas. Packs more stuff than her previous Lexus. But being a sedan, long garment bag takes some planning. We love the car!
I drove a Corolla in my 20s - 30s, then a Camry in 30s - 40s, and I was in the market for a 2025 Camry to replace my 2012 Camry. I stumbled across the Crown XLE and I was able to get a good enough deal that I felt like it was a splurge and an upgrade from the Camry, for less than the cost of some 2025 Camrys. Now that I am almost 50, I love the smoother ride and higher seat. I had never even heard of the Crown a few weeks ago, and now I can't imagine my life without it.
Massive congrats on your Crown! It truly is an excellent product. Many are only able to judge cars based on specs and they wonder why they should pay up more over a Camry to get this. Answer is quite simple, this simply drives better, feels more solid and refined. It’s truly a luxury car driving experience that transcends the economy car experience of the Camry.

They are a lot more reliable than a BMW and a lot cheaper to maintain. She was in the market for a 30-40K car and and you are telling her to look at BMW models that range from 70K-100K+. I just bought one last week! I got the Platinum model and I love it! - despite its high price tag. The ground clearance is great, there's ample room inside (maybe just a little short on head clearance space), the larger wheels don't compromise anything - it's a very smooth ride. I got the Oxygen White color and it's a classy look. Overall, very pleased with it.
I just got the 2024 Crown Platinum Max and love it. The 21-inch wheels are just fine. It rides better than my 2022 Avalon XSE Nightshade and is way faster. I traded in my Avalon, which they gave me $1000 over buy-out, and got $4000 off to take the demo from the manager. I paid 50k.
I have a 2024 Toyota crown XLe. The cost for me was affordable however the more bells and whistles you put on it the more expensive you get. Common sense. So I had mine equipped with just the stuff that I needed and I don’t regret it at all. It performs well is comfortable is very quiet as well as economical. Gas mileage was 40 miles per gallon on a 1200 mile trip that I did in April. What I recommended to others? Yes I would.
PS Toyota needs to do a better marketing campaign on this car. I have not seen that many only because Toyota is not doing too good a job at advertising them. They push the platinum and that’s what is expensive. You can still buy a lesser base model at a more economical priceand I feel Toyota needs to step up and promote this car.

I drove it a couple times but ai didn't feel or see a value of 52k, I can buy what I want and had the Crown been better I'd have one....not for me.....at that price....oh and ainwant all the toys with it, that's how I get my cars
I got the XLe. That one does not have all the bells and whistles where you have to pay extra for. I got good deal on the one that I have and that works. Hope you find yours someday.
I I bought mine in March of this year. It had to be delivered from out of the area because there were not any available. Fortunately, for me, it came with all the equipment that I was looking for no bells and whistles, but who needs them it comes very well equipped as it is . List price was 40 K and that’s what I paid out the door. I would suggest you do some looking rather quickly because the price keep going up .
I just bought the 2025 crown in the new storm cloud color with the advanced tech pkg…..I absolutely love it! The 21 inch wheels are great…smooth ride! Love the height of this car! It’s easy to get in and out of.❤
Owned Acura, Lexus and everything in between. This car is a Lexus without the 10k you pay for the L and without premium gas nor premium service fees. Made in Japan top notch quality, no rattle drive like floating over water, enough power, great gas mileage, this car will live 20 years and beyond. Very exclusive look and you don't see them everywhere, plenty of leg room, every safety feature you can think of, easy in and out of the car, top notch interior, everywhere i go people ask what is it and how sporty but elegant it is. Get it in XLE black in black and you would be amazed, another color doesn't look as good however the 2025 storm cloud looks good in pictures but the black in black luxury fabric is so underrated and it's a sleeper and we love it. If you want a greater value with ground clearance of 8.2 inches get the limited 2024 Venza. It's also a NX 350h in disguise trust, a lot of people are not aware how classy and Lexus like car it is and it's the last year here in the US but not around the world sold as a Harrier. all components are shared by Lexus and other Toyota so no shortage of parts, trust me grab one before they are gone, it's a classic quality, soft like silk and it's made in Japan. Have them both the venza in wind chill pearl is a beauty and have every luxury you can think of period. Both cars for 2k under MSRP not to bad for Lexus quality without the bage premium.
BULLSHIT.. Camry has more room, same engine, and $10,000 less....a sucker mobile.

you don't see them everywhere because they just came out and they are stupid expensive. Nothing about this car makes it worth 50k+. I drove it 2x, nice ride but not great. Not as roomy as a Camry in my opinion. I have an Avalon now, this was supposed to replace the Avalon, not even close.
Not even close for the 2024 crown xle, paid $39k + state taxes, that's it. So I agree 50k would be expensive but for what I paid, it is cheaper than the Camry 2025 xle with it being built in Japan, I think it is an old amazing car.

Compared to the new Accord this Crown drives like an ugly sofa. And with that size, the car has very low door opening and super small space above the head. Bad!
The JDM version Crown (IMHO) is a much nicer car with more class and enough power, in any market......I don't know why the marketers thought up this thing
Drive nice but not a comfortable cabin for long drives. I'm 5'11' 210 lbs and it's cramped. The way the center console is my right knee rest on the center console and steering wheel doesn't go any higher to get a good driving position. For a large sedan we got 40 mpg driving from PA to SC. It's not a bad sedan. But unfortunately for me Camry a more comfortable car
I purchased the Crown Limited, I was looking to buy the Luxury trim Lexus but the Crown Limited was just as nice and i can drive it gas or electric. It’s a beautiful car, i bought the black on black, I love it
I just bought one and love it, black on black platinum, sorry to disappoint all the haters, great vehicle and I got it for 2000 under tsrp, great deal oh and by the it’s fast as all get out and I still get 30 mpg, well maybe…that is still up in the air as to how close the rated mpg are in accuracy, but I still love it.
I love the idea of the Crowne and it's something I thought they'd do to the Camry - hybrid and awd. I own the 2021 Sienna and love it! I've test driver the xle and platinum Crowne and the only other observation I have is that the glass on the platinum is thicker giving it a noticeable quieter ride. That's not enough for me, though, as I'd take the 40mpg in the limited or xle any day. Thanks for this info - much appreciated and I agree with everything you state here!
Test drove this, first one local dealership had that wasn’t already sold on arrival. Interior was great. Rode rough and it beeped at me 3 times during test drive to “keep my eyes on the road”. Bought a Venza limited. Would have bought the Crown, but the ride was rougher than the Rav 4 we test drove.
@@MeynMotorGroup thanks, was just a test drive but it killed it for me. I was expecting much better and I see comments here as to the smooth drive. Happy with my Venza and it mileage.
Test drove this also - ride rougher and noisier than I expected. My 10 year old Fold F150 has a better ride than the crown. Plus the crown is too dam small for my liking…. That’s my opinion - go test drive it - everyone’s tastes aren’t the same. Some will love it … some won’t .. The ride is smoothe. It really grabs the road. The gas savings are amazing. It runs on 87 gas. On Eco mode you get approximately 700 miles per tank of gas. I like the fact that I don't have to plug it in. I like the height of it. It is easy to get in and out of. The trunk is spacious. The sound system is amazing. I have a 24 Toyota crown platinum. The only thing I think is missing from the car is a rear window windshield wiper I mean, what’s more Japanese than rear window windshield wipers
One larger wheels, give you a better ride than smaller diameter? I was always taught from when I was a kid, the larger the tire, the better the wheel because it rotates slower.
The Japanese name is Crown Crossover. The Crown is Toyota's second-largest car after the Century. The previous generation was exclusive to Japan, but the current model is now available worldwide. Although he is well known in Japan and sells well, he may not sell well in North America as he is a newcomer. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid is the same as the Camry. It's a little big and heavy, so the ride quality is mild, but it has the performance you need. Its appeal is that it has more rear seats and cargo space than the Camry. The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder turbo hybrid generates 349PS/460Nm and exhibits high driving performance. The downside is that it costs $25,000 more than the Camry. We are also looking forward to the design, performance, and price of the Japanese name Crown Estate (a crossover between a wagon and an SUV) scheduled to be released in the summer of 2024.
@@charlesjackson1700 Thank you for your reply. Isn't it because demand for sedans is abundant and tolerant in North America? The 2025 Camry will not be released in Japan. It's a very good car though. The Japanese-spec Crown is available in four names: sedan, sports, crossover, and estate.
@@charlesjackson1700 Wow! amazing! Getting information is fast! That's right at all. Large cars such as Tundra will probably not be sold in Japan. The Crown is selling well, probably because the Camry is not selling. Crossover is popular, but sedan and sport are struggling. The estate that is scheduled to be released will also sell well.
We have the Two-tone heavy metal Platinum, just a beautiful sedan that is way easier to get in and out of than our Maxima. On the highway at 60 mph we consistently get 45 mpg, that is very impressive. We love this car.

I bought a Crown Platinum in April of ‘23. My previous Crown was a ‘71 sport coupe that was the best car I ever owned, beautiful, too. This new one is red and black and is a very nice vehicle, and actually faster than the 60’s muscle cars. Suspension is mushy in all settings, disqualifying this as a sport sedan, but it is very comfortable. It was expensive, totaling oer sixty G’s. Its navigation system has a yearly renewal fee that I refuse to buy. How CHEAP can you be, Toyota? Try opening the trunk from the rear-you had better have good eyesight to find the release button, and if and when you do, there’s no hydraulic assist on the lid, up or down. How CHEAP can you be, Toyota? If you have a plug-in dash cam and any other electric piece of equipment demanding a cigarette socket, there’s only ONE buried In the console, and it traps heat. Thanks a lot, Toyota! It comes with all-season rubber floor mats similar to weathertech’s, but lift ‘em out to clean and you discover NO carpeting underneath…..WTF? Toyota? How can you cut so many corners on what is supposed to be a car that is supposedly a top, or near top line. I should have bought a Lexus. CEO deserves to be terminated. I’ll be glad to.
I saw this car parked next to me and I was like what car is this? It look nice and found out it’s a Toyota. Since when has Toyota made good looking cars?
I've seen 1 of these cars on the road and 1 at the dealer. Not sure why they are not selling to be honest. I guess the Camry still rules the roost over at Toyota.
Great review Kevin, I agree it's a great car, my wife wanted to look at them and I kinda nudged her to the ES300h. I really think the interest rates combined with the price is the problem. Without trying to sound arrogant or wealthy I'm a numbers guy, the numbers I see infer that many of the average consumers and families with all the other inflationary conditions simply cannot afford them. Combine people paying market adjustments and other nonsense it will get worse, because many will be buried in the cars they would like to trade. I would not be driving what I own if I was not able to have borrowed the money from myself.

@@matw1x I agree that the Crown should be here (USA) again (was here late 60’s/early 70’s). I really liked the last generation Avalon, but looks are subjective. The Avalon’s record for being a great vehicle is generally agreed on.
I saw Toyota Financial went with a lower APR on this model. So they clearly acknowledge it is less popular. Curiously one of my nearby dealerships has the Corolla hybrid in stock listed for 23768 and a dollar more for a gray interior instead of black. It is however an _arctic white_ exterior, which in San Antonio just going four days without driving often will see a dirt covering.
Yea I feel like most people don’t even know this exists which is great for those interested because they can scoop it up at a great discount and lease/finance deal. Corolla Hybrids from what I’ve see have been going for sticker sadly
It looks amazing inside but I can't get passed the exterior design, it is not a cohesive design in my opinion and I would never pay that much for a vehicle I can't love visually. That being said, I think the Crown Signia will be a HUGE success and will see this model just be phased out like they did with the Venza

The Crown drive train and electronics are the same thing as the Camry. You are paying a lot of money for a different body. I dumped my new 2020 Camry before it's second oil change because of continuous problems. I never would have thought a CTV is better than a geared transmission though that isn't saying much with the new Toyota's.
That's only a quarter of the story. It doesn't take into consideration the additional sound deadening the Crown has vs the Camry and the in general tuning of the Crown vs a cheaper Camry. BMW uses a B58 inline-6 in a 3 Series all the way up to a 6 figure 7 series.. big difference in performance, tuning, and refinement..
@@MeynMotorGroup $25k worth? Earplugs are only a few cents and will make both even quieter. I guess the up side is Toyota might try to fix the Crown when it acts up unlike they did with my new Camry. It's only cheap through Jim's Brokering Service. At my local dealerships, it's exactly as you describe a bunch of 2023 model years with markups on top. Yes Jim charges a broker fee and if you're not local to PA or CA you will have to ship but even with shipping and Jim's Broker fee, it's still WAY cheaper than buying local with the ridiculous dealer games they play here in NC. Sucks buying new cars locally. I had my 2024 4Runner shipped to me from PA to NC and even with shipping and Broker fee, I'm still under invoice on my 4Runner. I will never buy locally.
This is a crossover in sedan interior. The great solution in modern life, when you can take off in nature roads with no worries. First such a car was presented to world by Honda, it was Honda cross tour.
My wife and I went to our local Toyota dealer yesterday to test drive the Crown Platinum. As a senior citizen, the ride height is very appealing, and real easy to get in/out. The car has plenty of room and lots of technology on the inside. The turbo is blisteringly fast. The ride is smooth, but not as cushy as you might expect at this price point. We liked everything about the car……except the seats. I found them to be one level up from the wooden seats at our local sports stadium. I have a 2010 Infinity G37S, and those seats are light years ahead of the Crown. They should have used the seats from the Hylander Platinum, which are very comfortable. We were both really disappointed, since we were actually ready to buy the car if we liked the ride. Guess we’ll continue our search.
Thank you for bringing up the seats sir. I only tested the XLE 2024 with cloth seats. Those were comfortable and rode nice due to 19" wheels but I never got a chance to check out the leather option and larger wheels. For 2025, leather is standard across the board so I def need to try those seats. Thanks again for sharing your experience
I see tons of crowns everywhere in Austin Texas, one of the top issues toyota has is making cars that are too good so people don't really need new ones all too often
For 'the typical mass market car buyer', if they are going to spend $40K on a vehicle, they are going to want an SUV. Sedans are only popular when they cost less than the comparable SUV. So, the new Camry should be a big seller. But the Crown, not so much.
Should have brought previous gen while still had chance. I loved few prev gen Crown Athletes and always wished they were in the US. Finally Toyota decides, AFTER disastrous design changes SMH
It's really nice but i'm honestly dissapointed in it. The last few generation crown sedans sold in japan were so much better styled and had better features. I will never understand our countries need to make ugly crossovers out of good cars.
I really liked the design of the avalon more. I'm sure this car is super nice too though. I haven't seen too many of these on the road though.. I feel like Toyota will discontinue these sooner of later and focus on the Camry but I could be totally wrong.
I agree my friend the market has spoken and it refuses to pay up for full size sedans that segment is done, that's why they unveiled the Crown Signia, that will take over and they will focus on Camry like you mentioned.
it should have been a liftback imo :) I love the nightshade but wish it was also offered in the platinum trim! it looks awesome in nighshade, jujst wish nightshade was an option for all higher trims as well.
That would be nice but incorporating a hatchback into a sedan really ruins the handling characteristics and makes the car feel sloppy. You need a really high quality chassis and suspension to make a hatch work like the Audi A5 or A7
My Prius cost my family and I 43k… 43K!!! Marked up from 34k… and the car didn’t even come w floor mats… needless to say, we definitely got scalped, but my family wanted to get me what I wanted so I’m extremely grateful for my car.
I think Toyota made a rare mistake on this one. They're ugly and, frankly, the interior plastics stink. I could say more. I'd hoped they'd be a worthy successor to the elegant Avalon, but was disappointed. Went with a Lexus sedan instead.
4 bangers at double the price going to be a huge problem for Toyota going forward but their hybrid drive systems get great press. Battery electrics continue to plunge in price and continue to revolutionize the driving experience. Long Sony strong buy.
Just what the world needs. Another bloated $60k car(without mark ups) and a $700 payment. No wonder the Chinese is about to destroy the big three and Japanese car industry with their $12k electric car.

Massive congrats my friend! That's def a fast vehicle with a lot of great features if it fits the budget then Platinum is cool enjoy!
Sounds about white
How is the headroom in the rear? Do you think it could be used as a chauffeur vehicle? Also, how is the cabin noise?
@@Jeff-pq3zj May I ask how much you paid for it? I am looking for xle now and would like to see what would be a reasonable price. Thanks

I bought mine in March of this year.
@@sailboatlighthouse I was looking at the loaded Crown so it was more expensive, then T3 was just over 52k. I want all the bells n whistles when I buy.

There's a reason why Toyota finally decided to bring this version of the Crown to North America for the first time ever, even though the Crown name has been around for over 70 years.
Compared to the new Accord this Crown drives like an ugly sofa. And with that size, the car has very low door opening and super small space above the head. Bad!
I saw them in person… they are all sitting on the dealer lot. Not a good deal. Doesn’t look good.
But unfortunately for me Camry a more comfortable car
cope seen it in person its cool but nothing special. its also bit too tall for a car...
It’s not really that the crown isn’t selling.. Toyota purposefully makes it as a low volume vehicle, they said they aim to make around 20,000 a year
I have a 2024 limited with the 21 inch rims and I can tell you the ride is surprisingly smooth for that size.
So is the Camry hybrid at $10,000 less--you got suckered kid
@@chadhaire1711 or I like what I bought and a happy with it, had a camry xse before my crown and would happily pay the 10k difference again.

You can get the 360 camera (PVM) in the 2025 Crown. You have to buy the 'Advanced Tech Package'.
Loved to have seen the rear cargo area. I like the quirky yet graceful design.
I love ALL this WIRELESS with the NEWER cars!!!!! YOU GUYS ENJOY IT!!!

Of the 3 , I liked the Highlander the best
But I’ll probably end up with a Nissan Frontier Pro-4x
The ride is smoothe. It really grabs the road. The gas savings are amazing. It runs on 87 gas. On Eco mode you get approximately 700 miles per tank of gas.
@@charlesjackson1700
Thank you for your reply.
Isn't it because demand for sedans is abundant and tolerant in North America? The 2025 Camry will not be released in Japan. It's a very good car though.
The Japanese-spec Crown is available in four names: sedan, sports, crossover, and estate.
@@charlesjackson1700
Wow!

I bet Toyota sells a lot of the Crown Signia. It's a fantastic SUV Hybrid with a high quality, Lexus level interior. And it's a very good looking vehicle.
For us down here in south east Asia.crown means: a jaguar..a Mercedes-Benz.. Bentley.. Rolls Royce..BMW..and 80-90s era Toyota crown especially the century ..and with 6 8 or 12 cylinder engine.
We really liked some of these cars... was aiming toward an used Lexus. Crown... I dunno... seems redundant somehow... why not just get a fully optioned Avalon.
But, none of that mattered because we started to remember what the dealership process is like, and just bought a used Model X... you set up everything online, arrive, sign and date, do a walk-around, and off you go in 30"... painless... the only time in my life I actually liked buying a car.

Full size sedans aren’t popular, that’s y in 2020 everyone stopped making them.
It looks amazing inside but I can't get passed the exterior design, it is not a cohesive design in my opinion and I would never pay that much for a vehicle I can't love visually.
And the weird popping noises from the engine. And the hot antifreeze smell. And the... I don't care about a little noises. I just want the old Toyota quality back. The first one I looked at was $52k after dealer markups. They still had 2023 and the dealer was still adding over $5k on top of MSRP even thought they weren't hardly selling any.

We purchased a new 2024 Crown & are very pleased with it: hybrid, mileage, comfort, purchase price in January 2024 out the door $41k.
The other problem with the mass market is they don’t have a clue about how to get good deals on a vehicle.

It's really nice but i'm honestly dissapointed in it. The last few generation crown sedans sold in japan were so much better styled and had better features. I will never understand our countries need to make ugly crossovers out of good cars.
Yo my bro can’t wait to comment on this one either 🤝😎👍🏾👍🏾
Yes sir gotta get your thoughts on this one!

⚡️ Crown should be converted in to something like BMW X5 or Benz GLE.
Have you had a chance to test drive the 2025 camry xse?
Not yet will this summer tho I’m sure it’s good
Jim sounds like a helpful kind of guy! Haha
I really liked the design of the avalon more. I'm sure this car is super nice too though. I haven't seen too many of these on the road though.. I feel like Toyota will discontinue these sooner of later and focus on the Camry but I could be totally wrong.
I agree my friend the market has spoken and it refuses to pay up for full size sedans that segment is done, that's why they unveiled the Crown Signia, that will take over and they will focus on Camry like you mentioned.
because its too expensive for what it is. the limited dont even come with the 360 camera like wth
it should have been a liftback imo :) I love the nightshade but wish it was also offered in the platinum trim! it looks awesome in nighshade, jujst wish nightshade was an option for all higher trims as well.
Nah. Liftbacks make it more susceptible to theft.
The xle doesnt have seat memory, cmon toyota.
they would put the crown logo on the front and the steering wheel
4 bangers at double the price going to be a huge problem for Toyota going forward but their hybrid drive systems get great press. Battery electrics continue to plunge in price and continue to revolutionize the driving experience. Long Sony strong buy.
Compare to a full loaded ES, crown has better MSRP. But the trunk space is not so good.
Eh........but it still has a CVT transmission.......what's the longevity with that?
E-CVT and CVT are two totally different things. E-CVTs are some of the most proven systems
It's not an actual CVT, it's a planetary gear set like a Prius. Those transmissions are crazy durable.
@@MeynMotorGroup Thank you for clearing that up for me
@@sartonnis Thanks now i will consider this car in the future
The CVT is a planetary gear system, not the classic tapered cones and belt.
Just what the world needs. Another bloated $60k car(without mark ups) and a $700 payment.
No wonder the Chinese is about to destroy the big three and Japanese car industry with their $12k electric car.
Well it's clear hardly anyone is actually watching these videos and they are just out here saying anything now. Literally showed how to get a brand new Crown for $36k in great detail...
It not a real crown, it's a slap in the face version
