Hey Chris, i just wanted to send my love and appreciation for what you do. Over the past year, I’ve been learning how to drive, and my issue during the time was that I wasn’t able to practice driving outside of my paid lessons with the local driving school, so i would use your vids, along with The Topher and Tedward, to help as a way to study how normal experienced people drivers drove. From your road trips with Emily, to your commutes to downtown, I’ve watched just about any vid of yours i could in order to help myself improve between my lessons as much as possible, and on New Year’s Eve i officially became a licensed driver. So i just wanna send my thanks to you, and your friends for what you guys do, i love the reviews, and i love seeing you guys drive. Wishing you all the best, and a successful new year.
It looks good, I’ve seen one in person, on the road, but when watching videos of the test drives, I cannot stand the sound of that CVT with that engine!😝
I love your videos. As a former mechanic and auto body guy, I often pick up on RUclipsrs who speak on cars but lack in clarity and specific info. Usually because they don’t understand cars. However, your videos are just what I have been looking for. Keep it up! 10 years from now you’ll be the biggest car review channel.
It is worth noting that this is an eCVT which uses planetary gears, not chains or rubber belts. Different operating principles and very reliable. The engine does drone when accelerating to hold RPMs more constant. My guess is that they will offer the PowerMax option with 8-speed automatic in 2026.
They should in general improve the sound insulation. RAV 4 costs like Volvo XC60 and the comfort is incomparable. Sound insulation in RAV 4 is god awful!
@@OverG88 Japanese cars in general have never gotten sound insulation right, they just don't have the need for it unlike the Germans with their 300kmh autobahn. Recently went on the newest supposedly flagship Asia-exclusive Toyota Alphard and over 120kmh the noise insulation was awful.

I bought the first Signa in my area. It has every option. Actually, I had to drive about 100 miles to pick it up as a gift to my wife, who drove a Honda Odyssey for 14 years and 200k miles. I love it so much that I am considering buying a Crown Limited instead of a Tacoma. We have a super tight garage, and the cameras' auto-folding mirrors make parking so easy. At first i didn't like the looks of the Crown Sedan but i have grown to love it. The nightshade one is so good-looking!
That “Sedan” is Toyota being a liar because they have a real Crown Sedan sharing the Lexus LS platform but not on sale in the States. The “Sedan” we have is a weird cross-over …sad

This car would be a great fit for someone like my wife. She is 65, a good driver but could care less about how fast it excellerates. Right now she is driving a Yaris and loves the 40mpg she gets out of her Toyota. The Yaris is not a very comfortable car anyway you look at it. If she had comfort seats, plenty of room for her Costco runs, and a nice ride she would be hooked but I don't think I would get to drive it that often. Her birthday is at the end of May and I am planning on surprising her with her new car. And red just happens to be her favorite color.
Can you change the battery out yrself? and the cabin filter? stuff that should be easy is it easy? just curious my current car is a disaster for this....
I still think the Venza was a better bargain. Had a nice build quality. The Signia seems like a station wagon trying to pass as an SUV. I actually would like to see wagons return with a lower center of gravity and better height for entry/exit. I’d like to see better MPG figures on this car. I don’t really notice CVT drone much in my 2020 Avalon unless I am gunning it in Sport mode. It’s actually satisfying to hear the engine rev up when accelerating.
Not the first time for the Crown in the US. In North America, the first through fourth generations were offered from 1958 through 1972, being replaced by the Corona Mark II.

Thanks for the review. I've been curious about this vehicle and how Toyota is positioning it in the market. Personally, I like the interior more than the exterior look.
Nice review, a couple of things you didn't mention. No spare tire in the USA, just a fix a flat kit. The Signia also has towing capability of 2,700 lbs and a very nice voice command capability, like "turn my cabin temperature to 72 degrees", and with a microphone over each front seat, each can adjust vocally. The gauge cluster is almost 100% configurable, but not easy to adjust / configure until you spend an hour or so with the manuals / videos. Personally I'm expecting / hoping for a Platinum version with the higher power engine six speed transmission from the sedan, but it will likely push the price near $60k, but still saving money from the Lexus version in the RX.
Then get the xle??! You want toyota to lower the price and lose money? This was never suppose to be a mass selling car, crown is luxury, and will be selling very low units.
I would of bought this in a heart beat if it had the hybrid max option with this vehicle. But I will be buying the sedan crown because of the hybrid max engine. My mom has the grand highlander with hybridmax and I love that vehicle.
I bought a Honda CRV hybrid a year ago. This car was not available, but I may (may), have paid an extra $10k for this, but only because I tend to keep my cars for 10 years +. I have a weakness for, “shooting brake,” proportions
I actually thought this would be a great next car for my mom and suggested it to her, but she wasn’t too keen on the “wagon-ness” of it. She wants something more firmly crossover. Guessing she’ll probably end up in a Hybrid Highlander or RX350h. I could see this cutting a slice of the Subaru Outback pie for Toyota, though.
Fantastic car with great build quality given its from Japan BUT here in Canada they're selling for just shy of $70k so its hard to justify spending that much these days.
I really like this Crown Signia but I can't deal with the CVT. That's one of the reasons I bought a 23 Kia Sportage hybrid and I've been very happy with it. Maybe they'll improved the next years model.
If Toyota released this exact interior and exterior but with a 60kwh battery pack, 220hp and good efficiency in Europe, they’d be crushing the lacking wagon EV market. I’m looking at a ID7 Tourer now even though I’m a diehard Toyota fan.
I wanted one back in March, but the introduction was delayed. Bought a 2024 Highlander Platinum instead. Glad I did. For similar money, it is quieter and faster. Plus the pano roof opens and you don't bump your head getting in, lol.
0:39 it’s not a CUV disguised as a wagon, it’s a Wagon disguised as a CUV. Sedans and Wagons don’t get their rear windows tinted from factory. CUVs do unless they’re economy base models, and the Crown Signia is not an economy car and your trim is Limited with the Tech package so not base.
Because of the E CVT but I don't have a problem with the noise because only when you press on the gas paddle hard if you don't press hard on the gas paddle it's quiet i owned a 2022 venza hybrid I love it quiet every car when you press hard acceleration you will hear the noise thanks
Great review! I've been trying to find a way to grow up and break out of 4Runnerdom. I was aiming in this direction, but I'm not sure I could listen to that pitiful grown whilst trying to kick it around the highways. It's beautiful for sure, but I'm so tired of blacked out wheels. I love the design of kind of futuristic toyota models, but one big downside that i reark each time , always smaller headlamps ? i really think about the visibility by night, are their headlamp powerful enough to have a good sight in the dark ?
Very beautiful car, the interior looks with good quality, outside is modern but this CVT… I never driven one, but listening the video when accelerating maybe i will cut my ears off if I drive it
As a ‘23 Venza owner, I’m disappointed in the lack of HUD and power-adjustable steering column (that moves out of my way when shutting the car off). I’m intrigued at the “best JBL system in a Toyota” claim, as the 1200-watt system in my Venza is quite good. I think this uses an 800-watt system…but now I want to hear it.
If this had the upgraded powertrain I would consider one since I love wagons. The cvt killed it for me so I'll continue looking for a GX or maybe a Ranger Raptor instead
The lack of availability of a Hybrid Max powertrain is the single biggest reason I won't buy this. Maybe in a Platinum trim later on, or, maybe Toyota will bring the Crown Sport with the Hybrid Max powertrain in 2025?? Any information, or guesses on this? Thanks for the video 🙂
I think this is the best looking Toyota/Lexus vehicle. The display is nicely integrated and not sticking out like an out of place tablet. The engine sound though, ugh.
I really like this design. Finally, something wonderful. Even the interior is nice, good one Toyota. The volume is symmetrical like that good. The gauge cluster flows well and the dash is nice. That color is very soothing, nice!!
11:50 I disagree about the "CVT droning" being a real problem, as an actual toyota hybrid owner. First of all it's not that loud, in reality and day to day use. I've driven Toyotas and Lexuses with the eCVT(not CVT), it is one of the smoothest drivetrains out there. No jerking, no swings in power, no clutch or double clutch nonsense, instant torque... And then 40-60% of the time the engine is completely off, but I don't see anyone mentioning this in reviews...or how it can cruise at highway speeds with 1500-2500rpm.
Dec 18, 2024 got my White on Black XLE basic package w all weather mats. I love it!! I agree it is expensive still below $50k is great and not feel careful and overly protective for Lexus lux. Just so happy w my Crown Signia
Vehicle looks really nice and practical I feel, if a little overpriced for the spec / materials used .. I agree the CVT ‘whine is unacceptable to me. I traded my Outback XT touring which was also very jerky with simulated gear shifts after just 18 months for a Genesis GV70 which albeit more expensive feels like a luxury vehicle .. As I do only low mileage , I’m ok with the poor fuel efficiency as I really get excellent performance from the 2.5T
I had the same Outback as well and traded it within 4 months. My first CVT and as you can tell from the early ditching ,the last. Fuel economy was not so good and I felt like an old man in it!🤣 I am back to normal transmission shifty shifting AMG GLE 43 Mercedes. A blast for Alaskan winters.
The Crown Signia's body type is WAGON. Please note the lack of factory tint as the Signia is not an SUV. When you review the paperwork for the Signia, the body type is listed as WAGON.

Its the driver attention monitor system. If you look away from the road it beeps at you. Super annoying.
That wheel gap tho 😂
For the price they could at least tint the back windows.

I love it!! Cabinet is so well insulated, I drive in complete silence - perfect for clear thinking of my day and construction/building life details. The seats are so comfortable that I nap 20min - no neck strain and feel so rested.
46.7 mpg
Just tinted XPEL XR Plus, making it more sleek and insulated.
I agree it is expensive still below $50k is great and not feel careful and overly protective for Lexus lux.
Just so happy w my Crown Signia
how do you know that the door card material is leather and not some type of fake leather?
Seats are real leather, door panels might be fake leather.
I see where they get the new front end on the camry the front end headlight looks same
They need to add simulated shifts to break up the drone. It sounds like an outboard engine.
53k is in Lexus territory so I would expect it to deliver half if not the whole luxury package.
Subbed
I am surprised you didn't go to California this winter
It sounds very loud for a 50k car.
