Thanks for these video's! My six year old daughter loves to watch you kill the monster's! She jumps up and down in excitement - I hope you keep the series going - Thanks again
since you started this series I learned a ton about daggerfall and completed a playthrough thank you for introducing me to this game, it was a unique experience unlike any other game i've played
Currently my favourite series on your channel. So pleased to see Daggerfall getting love after all this time. I'm hoping modders will implement more dungeon "tiles" though, try and make them more interesting...
I don't really watch Streams and normally I'd prefer to just have a straight up let's play, but I like the communal experience of marvelling at Daggerfall's arcane systems and outmoded game design. And I think it helps a lot to have people who can look up the weirder or bugged out stuff out so you aren't stuck banging your head against a wall for an hour.
Nice thing about Daggerfall is a 360p video doesn't really hurt it much. Even with Dream installed, it's got such an impressionist style that being a bit blurry kind of fits it
YES! Notification popped up just as I laid down in bed due to pelvic pains, perfect timing, I'll probably spend a few hours here 🥲 Enjoying this series a lot, never played the game myself and I feel you are covering the game really well 😃
This series has been in the background when I'm going to bed, getting ready for work, driving to work, and cleaning up around the house. I dunno. I don't have the patience to play Daggerfall anymore, but something about hearing someone else play it is comforting to me hahaha
I truly look forward to these uploads. I've never commented this before, but truly felt the need to express my joy upon seeing your Daggerfall upload appear on my feed.
Loving this series. Managed to catch a minute of this stream earier and subscribe, but waited for the upload here since I joined halfway through. Don't know if I'll ever play through Daggerfall beyond the first couple of levels myself but this series has me wanting to try
Okay... long intermission in this one. I forgot I was watching it. Then Dave comes in with the dirtiest sounding "Hot Chockie" whispering in my ear and I almost shat myself.
That thing about how the Archaeologists bar you from joining if you are too high ranking in the Mages guild fuckin' infuriates me. The way to bar off content to a player is by character ability, not by some idiotic developer fiat.
I just refound daggerfall unity and am love/hating it compared to other modern games :D but i just want to say one thing is bothering my in your playthru - if you travel cautiously instead of recklessly you'll arrive at locations fully healed and at dawn...rather than at random times missing some stats
"I don't feel accomplishment, I feel relief" I just got through Lysandus' tomb and it took nearly 3 hours. And the last hour 10 minutes was struggling to follow an online path through the dungeon that had some janky instructions. I had upwards of 95% of the dungeon explored. I missed one corridor that just happened to be the one down to the tomb. And all I got out of it was a pair of ebony gauntlets and the chance to do it all again at Woodborne Hall. It was the least joyous victory I had ever had. At the end I just wanted it to be over. This game is a soulless grind. The only thing that saves it is smaller dungeons.
You should also ask Veriax what happens when you do quests for witch cults... might recommend doing that after the main quest, even though the outcome was hilarious.
Oh shit, I missed the stream. I'll try to catch the next one, Im having some issues with all the snow north of the wall. Frozen pipes ect. The joys of winter lol
Is there a mod that fixes Daggerfall's odd propensity to make 'castles' little pits in the ground? It's one of those points where the developers were clearly rushed and didn't have time to tweak the procedural generation exceptions.
You got lucky in the castle. One of the spawn points for the letter required you to go up near where that fallen log was. There is no real indication on the map, you just have to look up, then you just have to go up, typically by levitating. Then you hit a switch that opens a trapdoor that you explored long ago on the other side of the map. It's absolutely nightmarish.
Honestly looking at this game, I can see why Bethesda games went in the direction they did. It's often bragged that this map is "the size of real world britain" or something of that sort, but honestly, I get the impression that exploring the world map in this game is like searching through a bunch of file cabinets, where each of the file cabinets has been decorated slightly differently, but they have almost identical folders inside, and while yes, there's a bunch of different and sometimes interesting things written on the pages inside the folders, it doesn't seem to give much incentive to actually explore and read through each. There's no sense of "Oh I'll just go over here and there's bound to be something interesting just around the corner", instead you're just sent very specifically to specific places by quest givers, and trying to pull the whole "pick a direction" thing is bound to be fraught with boredom and no rewards. It's just a feeling I've got that games like Morrowind, and even Oblivion and Skyrim, are more interesting to explore, although it seems to me they've overcorrected by giving you fewer things to do, and making the games simpler and simpler. Like I can for sure say there's features I don't miss from Daggerfall, but do miss from Morrowind.
Having to wait a few days for Lhotun's quest to progress is nothing. I had to wait almost a month to progress a quest from the fighters guild. It was a cool one, though.
Shame you gotta wait for the quest to advance I was thinking that the npcs mentioned he didn't get a burial from the temple and he was a scholor so I was thinking mabey talk to thr arkay temple and mages guild Ps the cannon name is Greklith
I know it's probably a lot to ask for, but it' be much appreciated here in the YT land if the intermission parts, where literally nothing happens, were cut.
I dont really like the mods in the chat sometimes, nor the policies on backseating. The health bit makes sense but suggesting he could use his wagon when close to the exit idk... didnt complain after all when they told him to anchor episodes ago. I suppose im just glad im watching these after on youtube, doesnt seem like the vibe id wanna live with :P
The Mages guild here , this system FEELS like an old world, darky mysterious AD&D world. The magic system is varied and better. You have to really earn the experience and spell upgrade improvements. In Skyrim, it was too easy and not a real Fantasy Dungeon crawl game.
I bet there would have been an algorithmic storm if you had combined the poll exploitation and so forth with 'palying skrim' at the same time. I mean, you would have hated it and I'm by no means suggesting it, I'm just saying the algorithm would have loved it.
You keep saying that you're using a mod that makes the daggerfall dungeons smaller. I'm just curious which one that is from your mod list. I'm trying to get into the game and these dungeons are so big it's crazy.
If elder scrolls 7 is just a daggerfall remake with improvements to the dungeon layouts and a better but still equally big world map I wouldn't be upset. Just improve the dungeons and make many quests and you have the perfect successor to skyrim

Exceptional
Are you my mommy?
Nope
since you started this series I learned a ton about daggerfall and completed a playthrough
thank you for introducing me to this game, it was a unique experience unlike any other game i've played
It's what I'm here for! Glad you're enjoying it.
The Marges Guild has me imagining a whole group of unionised Marges combing their blue hair and picking up after Homers shenanigans
Came for the Daggerfall.
Stayed for the amazing content on the channel.
Keep it up! Really enjoying it all, and the effort you put into it.
This playthrough is so chill, it's made me start my very first daggerfall playthrough. Thanks for all the great times Dave!
33:41 That's not adonkey, that's Alf! Remember Alf? He's back! In Pog form!
I'm not the only one who saw bloody Alf
@@mattigator600 The cat's got their revenge XD
Milhouse...is that you?
This series is done soo good. Your style compliments old RPGs perfectly. Dare I say you'd create the perfect Gothic and Gothic 2 playthrough.
Imagine walking into the Mage's guild and there's a sorcerer there who wants to sell you a spell called "Tongues"
"Uh... what does it do?"
"Tongues!"
The trick is to look at the school of magic. Mysticism, it's gotta be a language spell. If it's conjuration,. Run
Currently my favourite series on your channel. So pleased to see Daggerfall getting love after all this time. I'm hoping modders will implement more dungeon "tiles" though, try and make them more interesting...
This is my favourite series on YT right now and the fact that you quoted "Guards! Guards!" was just icing on the cake. Please don't stop!
Yeah it's a compromise. Playing it alone would have been rough. Even just having the chat to tell me when I've missed something important helps a ton.
nothing finer than a werewolf on a levitating two legged horse, sounds like a punchline to a ye olden time joke
in og dagger we crying in the 90s no guids no maps my little brother went to dung and still not come back
Nice thing about Daggerfall is a 360p video doesn't really hurt it much. Even with Dream installed, it's got such an impressionist style that being a bit blurry kind of fits it
Here's a helpful comment Dave! Loving this playthrough
"Could you use another door?" asked the weredungeon

2:05:00 who wouldn't be polite when approached by a blood-thirsty werewolf?
I agree that hot chocolate is the shit, especially with a shot of Bailey's
watching these have carried me through a nasty project, thank you mr. dave sir
I've definitely been there before. Glad I could help!
I truly look forward to these uploads. I've never commented this before, but truly felt the need to express my joy upon seeing your Daggerfall upload appear on my feed.
You actually commented: 'this is fantastic' on part 2 ;P
When the overpowered werewolf curse actually feels like a curse.
1:50:00 Kyne's blessed the rains down in Sentinel!
This is honestly the highlight of my week every time it goes up :)
Something about these old dungeon crawlers feels so right. Even if they're old they feel like a lot more work was put into them.
Daggerfall dungeons were literally the bane of my existence. Ggs Dave
1:06:18 - end of intermission
Loving this series. Managed to catch a minute of this stream earier and subscribe, but waited for the upload here since I joined halfway through. Don't know if I'll ever play through Daggerfall beyond the first couple of levels myself but this series has me wanting to try
Those Oblivion portals were such a tease!
Top of the morning to you, lads. Great stuff. Excellent work.
25:25 I didn't know Hyacinth Bucket was in this
It's Bouquet
Maybe the real castle was the friends we made along the way...
Player: *Is curious and opens a door*
Daggerfall: COWABUNGA IT IS!
I’m a big fan of this game, and all of your playthroughs.
1:49:58 couldn't stop laughing at this and tim falling to death making me think he couldn't take it anymore and gave up after that dungeon.
Algorithm, thingy. Also, this is highly enjoyable. Have a great day.
Welcome!
Mm, yes. CPM.
Okay... long intermission in this one. I forgot I was watching it. Then Dave comes in with the dirtiest sounding "Hot Chockie" whispering in my ear and I almost shat myself.
Loving this series! 😊
Loving the series.
And just when i thought i would sleep tonight...
I quite like the synth music it feels like the Cure are playing in the dungeon
Phoenix Rising is great, it does run very slowly in galactic map but I never had much slowdown in the battles themselves.
That thing about how the Archaeologists bar you from joining if you are too high ranking in the Mages guild fuckin' infuriates me. The way to bar off content to a player is by character ability, not by some idiotic developer fiat.
That’s a shame I have waited for years for Claudius to return to that fort to tell the commander I couldn’t find your horse
it is absolutely hilarious to me when the random encounter enemies ambush a sleeping werewolf just to get complete ripped to shreds.
I recently downloaded daggerfall unity and it was quite enjoyable. I need to get some of those mods in but I rather like it
I just refound daggerfall unity and am love/hating it compared to other modern games :D

15:37 I’ve found that people’s propensity to enjoy Skyrim is inversely proportional to their propensity to enjoy Morrowind.
Oh shit, I missed the stream. I'll try to catch the next one, Im having some issues with all the snow north of the wall. Frozen pipes ect. The joys of winter lol

You just made me chuckle my lungs out.

just realized that Dave's Character at like 1:15:00 looks very similar to Doctor Doom, with a golden mask instead of the trademark silver one

This is when the orcs start to get some character development in the series.
I'm oddly interested in this game for some reason. The art style is just...so beautifully old.
Dungeons in Daggerfall are the videogame equivalent of Purgatory.
Just recently found your channel and love your content!

What kind of machine were you running this on ?
I tried to install Unity version on my AMD 4800U laptop and it was unplayably slow.
Yes! That last wet dungeon made me have to go play Operencia the Stolen Sun again. Anybody else?
Such is the life of a rat, I pray the next maze grants fresh mozz as the reward.
Having to wait a few days for Lhotun's quest to progress is nothing. I had to wait almost a month to progress a quest from the fighters guild. It was a cool one, though.
Maybe the mysterious lever in the 'castle', turned off the sarcophagus trap?
For what it's worth, I'd be intrigued by you taking a stab at some really old-school dungeon crawler titles. Lands of Lore is one of my favourites.
Then the leader of the dark brotherhood must be going koo koo and I mean KOO KOO!!!!

37:22 You should always hang your meat for a few days before consumption.
The map system reminds me of Descent.

SorcerorDave Do you know about the convenient clock mod? It seems you have a lot of hastles with how long to sleep/wait. That would help.
