"but she isn't here. She's in..." Tries to read Bag'hakawan, "Birmingham. She's in Birmingham" Dave, you almost choked me to death and almost got my keyboard as an innocent bystander. Note to self, don't drink when you're reading daggerfall text boxes. XD
I love the writing in the letter for Lhotun's quest. It's the kind of thing you really want to read entirely rather than skim through as one does in modern games. That kind of stuff is a big charm of this game.
Found this channel through the first episode of this series, which led me to your Oblivion Let's Play of Arthur the thief. I watched the whole thing and must applaud your choices, they kept me interested until the last. Good stuff, Dave
1:23:18 You heard an enemy in a disconnected part of the dungeon. Daggerfall's dungeon generation is a bit wonky and not all the rooms are always connected. If you climb a wall and poke your head through the ceiling you can see how they're built. The unity guys have been working on a solution to disconnected rooms for about 3 years, but this is a bug carried over from the original game files. Some quests become uncompletable without cheats because of the random dungeons.
Subscribed to this channel specifically because of the Daggerfall playthrough. Absolutely loving it, perfect thing to watch when I come home from work at 6 am and everybody else is still asleep.
I wish I could have stuck around for the whole stream but my internet was'nt up to it, we had a storm coming in and that always fecks up my internet. Im totally snowed in, 4feet of snow! So Im going to enjoy the video while I sit painting my mini's :-)
Fun fact, in case you didn't know, if you use Info Mode you can click (or whatever key you have for activate) buildings from a distance and it tells you what they are. Helps when navigating large towns like Daggerfall itself. I spam the activate for almost all buildings especially when you're trying to find a residence and those aren't marked with a color on the map...
"Daggerfall Doesn't Do Puzzles" ~laughs in Aetherius~ To be fair, though, Daggerfall does absolutely nothing to prepare you for the utter insanity of the Aetherius final dungeon. I unashamed used a walk through and did not divert from it one step. And yes you can find the entrance to Aetherius NW off the 100K ship, you can see it with distant terrain. Because with a landmass the size of the UK... best place to hide a secret is in plain sight. You can't have a robin hood binge without Maid Marian and her Merry Men XD
Just started this (as of writng this) most recent episode and I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed every single episode so far. Really looking forward to Part 6!
The thing I'm most invested for now is a gothic playthrough because you keep mentioning it XD. I'd play it again myself but I dont think I have the patience. Such a good game.
I feel for the young, 15 yo, discarded prince. I know what that situation feels like first hand. Sometimes, the only person you can count on is the one person who's been there for you your entire life, you. It's why I always wanted to have a family of my own. To be able to love others who actually love me as I am. :)
I'm picturing Tim twisting up the shirt of shocking and using it like a whip. That, or daintily shaking it while holding it between thump and index finger only.
You can actually hit harpies with Dwarven weapons, after breaking my Ebony dagger I was desperate to find anything that could save me. My fireball spell seem to just fly through them and not hit
Whipping a shirt out of your pocket to shock an enemy in mid battle makes more sense than Fathis changing belts robes boots amulets and rings mid fight in Morrowind where you actually have to have the item equipped to cast the spell.
the lantern can hold more then 1 bottle of oil at a time. if you "use" the oil jar's untile the lanterns full it'll last longer ps i think each dungeon module might've been hand maid and then randomly stitched together but with smaller dungeons you only get 1 module per dungeon so it's not too far fetched for a module to tell a story
I really love the gothic series. They got their fair share of flaws and are clunky as hell, but the stories are great and the mechanics of the games too. I like the open nature of their worlds in regards to monster levels not scaling and such.
I would really love to see you play Gothic. Especially the second game is imho the best crpg of all time. I've only played it in german so seeing you play the English version would be great. I'd advise you to play it with the add-on. It's more difficult, at least in the beginning, but it's even better. It will be more difficult than the first game as well, but also more satisfying.
What mod adds the spiffy new dungeons doors that I see in the beginning of the video? I have the dream mod but I dont have those fancy dungeon doors...
There is a PS4 version of Shadow of the Colossus if you want to try it out. Its just as good as the original. Better in a way since a lot of the slow down is gone.
I've been playing a bit of Valheim. I'm really liking it! It's a mixture of Minecraft, Runescape, and Outward to me and it blends them into a relaxing survival/adventure style game that I have really been sinking what free time I can into.
I wish I could get my copy of Gothic to work... my pc for some reason doesn't let it run past the title menu, but I can play all the Risen games and gothic 3, never tried 2 yet.
Gothic 2 (plus the DLC) is by far the best in the series. So if you're a fan of PiranhaBytes I suggest buying an old laptop for 15 bucks/euros/pounds/whatever denomination to run an old disc or alternatively just buying it on GOG. Should run fine from what I've heard.
Dave, please do a Gothic series! And Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machines which was the first real 3D game I've played on Windows 98. Back when I first played Morrowind, it was so unappealing because I had played Gothic before and now I suddenly had to read dialogue and the NPCs felt like cardboard cutouts just standing around and giving generic dialogue. I learned to appreciate Morrorind much later because the lore is so rich and there is so much new to find out every time I play it. However, Gothic 1 and 2 are still special to me and also really good games. Especially if you come from my area in Germany because there is a lot of rough local humour in the German dialogue. Sadly, the devs never really managed to find a new formula and their work really needs an update imo, as much as I love their old games. The newer games all feel a bit stale. And yeah, Gothic 3 was a mess at release. Back then it was totally unacceptable to release a buggy game with a huge 1GB day 1 patch. Nowadays, that's just how it is. Only with a 30GB patch after a 90GB download.
Now that I have the luxury of hindsight to look back at the prequels with eyes unclouded by the fandom that afflicted me in my teenage years, I can confidently say that, for me, the prequels are so bad they're good. I get genuine enjoyment out of watching them and taking the piss out of them. Every frame of the prequels is jam-packed with hundreds of man-hours of effort. So many people did the absolute best they could manage, putting their heart and soul into it, not realizing the final product would be a laughing stock years later. That is a quintessential quality of being so bad its good. That's the one advantage they have ever the sequels, which are just boringly bad.
Really wanted to play this myself. But the Bethesda launcher is bugged (imagine that) so I can't log in to download the base game. I'll have to settle for watching this gloroiusly funny series instead. Edit, also dislike level gating. I think the Outer Worlds had a great solution, you CAN go straight to the high level area. But the NPC warns you not to. Then asks if you're sure, then the game straight up shakes it's head and says OK... Are you su... Alright then. And you do. And die in 2 minutes 14 seconds
Not that I can tell. Dave seems to stream Daggerfall when he wants to stream Daggerfall. My best advice is to follow him on Twitch if you want to catch a stream live.
Sorry, I am bad at scheduling absolutely anything. I tend to do these streams roughly a week apart, give or take. If you follow me on twitch you should get notifications when I go live, and I do announce them a bit in advance on twitter. Also, when I do go live, it's usually in the afternoon UK time, around 3pm-4pm.
It’s all good! I actually have notifications on for you on Twitch AND Twitter, but didn’t actually get notified for some reason. I have no idea what to do about Twitter, but I’m hoping my having just updated Twitch solves the problem there. Cross your crossables!
"but she isn't here. She's in..." Tries to read Bag'hakawan, "Birmingham. She's in Birmingham"
Dave, you almost choked me to death and almost got my keyboard as an innocent bystander. Note to self, don't drink when you're reading daggerfall text boxes. XD
That had me absolutely rolling. I love this series

Don't mind me, I'll just be here, smiting those annoying comment bots...
Does not compute

Yes, strike down the thot bots
End them rightly, me lord!
Tim is just wearing that lightning shirt tied around his waist, and pelvic thrusts at the enemy to shoot bolts from it.
This reminds me of that weird power/spell from Greedfall where you thrust forward and get your wang annointed by God himself xD
Getting me through some tough times, Dave. Many thanks.
"Was expecting it to be a little bigger..and that's what she said." Good call lol
She talks to much 😎

yes but no

Thanks, I'll try to remember that for next time
Absolutely love the dungeon music in this here game

This is such a great dungeon crawl game - thanks for these video's I hope you keep them going
The thing I'm most invested for now is a gothic playthrough because you keep mentioning it XD. I'd play it again myself but I dont think I have the patience. Such a good game.
Good to see daggerfall content
Oh, algorithm thy arth a cruel mistress!
A gothic livestream with dave. Now that would be awesome. Please.
The sleeper awake!
Would he go for the swamp camp though?
this daggerfall playthrough has been mad
Great playthrough so far Sorcererdave! Keep it up.
Laundry without dryer sheets produce an electrical effect. That’s the meta
Direni tower, aka the Adamantine tower, the place where the reality of Mundis began.

I've been playing alongside your playthrough and it's funny seeing how short your dungeons are compared to mine.
You have to enable smaller dungeons in the Unity configuration
Still loving this series
I'm picturing Tim twisting up the shirt of shocking and using it like a whip. That, or daintily shaking it while holding it between thump and index finger only.
I just wanna say, here, regarding the level requirements in the main quest: Morrowind :P
He waves his laundry at people and they get electrocuted.
I can just imagine that. *whips out shirt* Eat my static filled laundry fiend!
You can actually hit harpies with Dwarven weapons, after breaking my Ebony dagger I was desperate to find anything that could save me. My fireball spell seem to just fly through them and not hit
I have been punching them to death it is a slog
Thanks again for this video Dave!
Fighter's guild offers lots of extermination quests in the town houses. Lots faster than dungeon quests
loving the series dave
Thanks for saving my Friday!
As a descendant of Sicily living in NJ, we have the best pizza. It's science.
Ayyyy Arthur's dad part 5 :')

I don't know why watching you hate playing this game is so compelling, but it is.
I'm just glad you've done it so I don't have to.

This reminds me of Might and Magic
I absolutely love pharaoh and Zeus. Never got into the Caesar games tbh.
Hail to you dave! Thank you for the episode. Now i'm gonna pull an all night session and swallow this whole >:^)
Ahhh Daggerfall, back when skeletons were more than just a minor irritation.
They're really only deadly up to level 4 in daggerfall, so not much difference.
@ 1:59:00 it actually looks like original Daggerfall.
What mod adds the spiffy new dungeons doors that I see in the beginning of the video? I have the dream mod but I dont have those fancy dungeon doors...
A Dwarven Warhammer!

The green dress was pretty accurate. Generic npcs but hey at least it's not oblivions voice acting and the weird eyebrows lol
Biggus Dikuss will be pleased you loved the romans.

SorceredDave confirmed for filthy casual.
Omg, did you really get asked if this was TES 6 beta?
It was so pre-alpha it was a different game decades prior I guess is the meme

Dragon Age , especially 3, is hot dogshit tho
Quick get Dave's patreon money to 2000 so we can get him to play Battlespire
