Very Cool and informative episode, and what a surprise to be getting a post card! It's something I will look forward to and cherish! I really appreciate the price checks and getting up to date on Bangkok very helpful for someone who like you is looking for a new home.
Thanks guys, it would be nice to see some streets markets for local fruits and foods, some of us avoid shopping malls at all cost ;-) And some off the beaten trucks would be nice. Love you.
the thai milk tea in 7-11 also is the best in my opinion. during my trip in 2018 my friends and I were trying to look for good thai milk tea all over hatyai & bangkok but we found the best one in 7-11 lol. 7-11 food are great too. you've got to try their ready made meals & corn snacks as well. we basically lived on 7-11 food in thailand 🤣
Hi, you can find affordable food and have a pretty good view in the food court in Terminal 21.I recommended in the Asok branch or Rama 3 branch. Maybe you're looking for a new experience for eating instant noodles in a "Good Noodle" shop at a Union mall or Taste Thai-flavored tea at all branches of Cha Tra Mue. . In addition to MRT and BTS, boat rides are convenient and popular on the Chao Phraya River. The 30 baht ferry is now popular for early evening views or perhaps by medium-sized passenger boat Hop-On Hop-Off within 1 day with a ticket price of 150 baht.
When you order Thai foods, you can always ask them to tone down on the heat/chilis. Or tell them NOT to add chilis at all! Most will be able to accommodate your requests.
The way Thais eat is to use fork and spoon. Spoon is scoop rice/food and fork is used to gather food/rice into spoon. With the 2 in combination you can even clean up the food without even a single grain of rice left on the plate. Lime is a condiment to enhance Pad Thai. Squeeze it on the disk and it's heaven. Have you tried Terminal 21? It is the favorite of office workers and expatriates. It is reputed to offer the most variety of food at the cheapest price among all the aircon food courts in Thailand. BTS is the first electric train line in Thailand built about 25 years ago. It was built under the term Build Operate Transfer (BOT) concession from Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (Bangkok city govt) by Thanayong group which was later renamed to BTS Group. The private concessionaire built civil structure as well as bought the trains and running system from German Sieman. When the project was announced, Thais and expats were skeptical, calling the project "pie in the sky" as previously there were private concessionaires who failed to complete the train project such as Hopewell and Lavalin. However, BTS proved them wrong, the project was built and operated successfully within 5 years! Even then, some sceptics doubted it would be successful as the first year's passenger volume was low, fewer than 200,000 a year and the fare revenue could not even cover the running cost! However, within 5 years, the skytrain is profitable as the number of riders increase every year.
As for Sukhumvit Road, since 1964, on both sides of the road, there are Americans drinking whiskey. It was an era in which Thailand and the United States cooperated against threats from communism from China and Russia, and also had military bases in the eastern and northeastern regions. Over time, these GIs still miss Thai food. and traveled to Thailand again until there was news from the daily newspaper Nowadays, they must be old. And probably won't be in this world for some time. Because I'm 80 and I've seen pictures of them. at this Sukhumvit Road
Thailand gives a 'short' visa. 'no stay long time'. Just a month or so, then back on a plane to somewhere else. I'm so tired of being a traveller. Wish I had a family home to go back to but I don't. It was nice to be able to stay in Thailand some years ago UNTIL THEY TOTALLY CHANGED THE VISA RULES. I'll never go back there after what they did to me
@@OlgaProGoingPlaces Study visa is for one year and still not easy. I don't have the 600k baht for the elite visa. I lived there 10 years when they just let people keep getting 3 month visas non stop. If you take a study visa then try to get a new one or come in the country as a tourist/visitor again.. they give a very hard time, asking why you always coming back, etc,, in many cases, even deny the entry. Believe me I know the visa rules very well there. It's really a shame what they did because everything is convenient and easy, and nice, in Thailand. Maybe you guys can spend 600,000 baht each on 5 year visas if you have it. The price is reasonable, and actually cheaper, over time because it lets you stay in one good place instead of having to get on a plane every 1-3 months and going places (paying for flight) that are weird like vietnam or cambodia,, albania,, turkey.. where there are more discomforts..(i had to run around to all those places, wherever would give me visa),, dangers...thieves.. etc.. and in fact they are also 'more expensive', which is sad

From what I saw the meat in your Som Tum, could be a piece of jelly fish. The salad looked very yummy!!
Beautiful videos. Lovely couple. Thank you for sharing ❤️😊
Lol sad I saw my name pop up. 😭 I'm in Vietnam and this time next week I will be in Chaing Mia. Love your videos.

ส้มตำต้องทานคู่กับข้าวเหนียว จึงจะลงตัว และทานพร้อมกับไก่ยางด้วยครับ😁
You can order padkrapao pork with fried egg eat with somtam thai (papaya salad ).
Haha, that would be really spicy 😄
At least prices are not out of control like in Turkey.
Hi olga hope you have a wonderful day you and your husband whatyou do for a living ?

Is it hot and humid in Bangkok all year round? I know it's cooler in Northern Thailand but air quality is poor due to burning season...
Hot and humid all year
there will be rainy season as well. avoid going to the southern part around nov/dec - jan/feb as it will be monsoon season
@@Ruriko.Y were it not for their hot & humid climates, expat-friendly cities in S.E.A. would be ideal for retirement

Mai ped works better than nit noi spicy/little spicy.
@@Roof_Pizza Yes, ‘Mai ped’= not hot/spicy & ‘Ped nit noi’= hot/spicy little bit.

At 5.33 in your Som Tum is a chicken feet.
Didn’t taste like it, but maybe
Good
Ms. Olga, the words “2 ชิ้น” above the price means you can pay that price for 2 pieces.
😊🙏🏻
Price in food court in shopping mall don't compare with vendor on the stree. At food court could have more quality, hygiene n comfortable.
Hi, did the Thai customs check your laptop & did you have to declare it on arrival?
It was like everywhere else
There's also my name at random!😲 I'm really sorry that I didn't introduce attractions. 🙏

Can you do a vlog about Big C?
Big C is very similar to Lotus, that I showed in this video

That is not seafood. It is the skin of chicken feet
