Johnny was such a good host...unlike today where the late night guy always tries to one up the guest...Johnny would get his in , but he knew the guests, and let them go

Imagine the way Fallon would embarrass himself by interrupting and trying to one-up Rodney. Good grief.

This was so funny. Rodney was the goat!!!!!!!! always dissed his wife and himself of course. I remember a joke about his wife that stood out to me. It goes "my wife asked me to take her somewhere she's never been before, he said how about the kitchen" . I think I laughed for days after that.

Rodney meant a lot to young comics . His club paid a little more than most and he would let comics sleep in the backroom for free. He never forgot what it was like to be a young broke comedian. Truely a classy guy!

Great job brevs. The guy on the right is closer to me in age. I almost wondered if he was ever to close to the TV and was told that could be bad for his eyes. Laying on the floor with your face around 3 feet from the T.V. or somethin. I first saw Rodney before color was invented. To this day I have an intellectual love affair with any on screen visual that is in black and white. Probably an age thing.
Check out some documentaries on Rodney. Very interesting.

Rodney actually took a stroke on the Jay Leno show..Jay said " Rodney was finding it little hard to breath n sweating alot, more than normal..So he told one of his ppl " have an ambulance outside the studio." So when Rodney comes out they can take him right away...I Think Jay took the ride with him...But yes it was great that Leno knew the symptoms , because Rodney did take a stroke... PEACE N LOVE. Rodney...
