I am a postal carrier and go through a lot of stress and sewing therapy is what I look forward to on my days off. I save your posts and watch them when I finally get a day off. Thank you for your wonderful light hearted and smiling face when sharing your knowledge which makes you different than other sewing posts😁
I can so relate to the stress we experience in life, and I am glad that your sewing is that bright moment in the week where you get to unwind. Happy sewing to you and big hugs!
I never have stopped halfway through. If I don’t like a painting I just scrape it off. I did get frustrated once and just threw glue and paint on the canvas. It was amazing!! I shared the painting on your Instagram.
This looks really nice, love the colour combo. It might be "plain vanilla" , but it will be very easy to wear because you can match it with so many things. 👍
I’m so glad I found your channel. I love your hoodie and everything else that you make and your instructions are so easy to follow. Your also a beautiful sweet young lady.❤
I really like that. That's very great style. I love that color combination, literally seems like something I'd wear around my house or just while I'd run some errands. I gotta practice hoodies cuz everytime I create it doesn't come out right. I love this channel. Have a wonderful day/night everyone. Thanks alot 🙂🙂🙂
There have been many garments that I made, that looked so wrong, all the way to the finish line. I would let it sit a few days, then see what adjustments would make it better. Usually they were too big and therefore looked incredibly dumpy. But it wasn't immediately apparent. I would alter them, then say at least it is wearable. I can't tell you how many of those projects ended up being favourites a few weeks later, once my original plan in my head was replaced with the new reality. I find that I often start a project on a certain path, but after that I have to let it direct me to it's style conclusion. Just the way a composer of music works or a painter. And some were taken apart to make smaller children's clothes if appropriate 😂
Back in December 2020 my neighbor asked me to sew an Indian wear for him, I told him I'm not sure if I can do it because I have NEVER done those before. It took me almost a month to convince myself, hey JUST TRY and see what I am capable of doing and in January 2021 in a few days I did the pattern, cut all the pieces, and put it together and I was amazed that I could have done a project like that. I didn't believe in myself, now I do
I really love it. It looks amazing. I love the colors. If I made one I'd reverse the color placement to have the darker on the ends of the sleeves bc for some reason the ends of my sleeves always get dirty. Maybe from rubbing across when I write or touch anything. I'm not sure why. But maybe that would help hide it for me 😅
You have given some new points regarding extending the arm hole ❤.... its hood I couldn't follow completely ...I will read it again repeatedly ...hoping for the best 😊
I made a summer dress and decided I just didn't like how it turned out ..but I finished it and then I never wore it... it just didn't fit the idea i expected 😂 and then i pulled it to pieces to save the fabric and last winter I made a shirt from it and I love it !!!
Love watching you !!! I am looking to up-pad my dress form. I recently took my dress form down from the attic and she is not my twin anymore. How did that happen ?????? Oh, I know why .... She stayed away from food and snacks and soda and pizza and fried chicken and Tatar tots ..... and cakes and cookies and everyone's favorite .... ice cream !!!!!
In Australia, that french terry is available from Lush Fabrics (Perth). It is a very lightweight french terry as it is mostly polyester. It melts under the iron and if you soak it in a laundry soak, the print comes off. Ask me how I know 🤣
Mine is cotton, edited to add that the one that i used for the hoodie, the one that is colored one is a mix of polyester and rayon. Not sure if yours just looks the same, but I have washed mine and put it through medium heat in the dryer, plus pressed all the seams from the reverse sides because foil does stick to the iron and it was fine. When you do iron polyester, any polyester, you need to adjust your heat settings on the iron.
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I mentioned the shop above as yes, it looks the same. Same foil prints and colours 😊 I didn't realise it was polyester as I didn't read the listing properly. I mistakenly thought all french terry was cotton until that point. I've never seen cotton french terry in these prints in Australia 🥰
Hmmmm.... so weird...I pre-wash all my fabrics (the ones that can be washed) and put them through medium heat dryer (as that's how I treat most of the clothes we wear) and those foiled fabrics came out fine, in the video with 3 methods for sewing pants those fabric were after wash. I wonder why yours acted so differently... hmm.... sounds like yours isn't really usable, so sorry to hear that!
@@ThoughtfulCreativity don't get me wrong Alisa, mine washed and dried fine (I put everything through the clothes dryer as I sew for kids) but after I constructed a garment I left it in a small tub with some laundry soak (Napisan/Sard Wonder.. not sure if those brands mean anything to you) and the foil printing faded away, almost completely. I was devastated. If I were to use it again (I have more in my stash) I'd not soak it. Lesson learned.
No... I don't recognize those laundry soak names.... Man, so bummed for you! :( I am so sorry! I made pants for my little one as well using those fabrics. The foil eventually will rub off, as I am sure you know, especially in the knees and elbows, same happened to her mermaid foil leggings, the knees were done after a while (different fabric shop), but I wonder why the foil faded.... maybe smth different in the laundry detergent. Ah, we live and we learn, right? To cheer you up: I once spilled a huge tub of blue dye on myself, not just a couple of drops, but head to toe, and It was a freshly made 2-piece set of a t-shirt and joggers. My husband would not stop laughing, my hands and nails were blue for a week after that! :D
It's me again, I want to make this or similar hoodie for my 9 yr old great-granddaughter with one slight change, i want the bag to be longer. What do you suggest for a little extra back length? My ggd is 4 ft, 8 inches & chunkie.
My story is that for my sister wedding I was making my own dress but it was not coming out well I got tired angry and frustrated I throw away the unfinished dress in the garbage. Two days later my sister give it back and say now that you are calm you can try finishing I did, it wasn't the prefect dress I imagine but it work (thank you sis)
Dear Alisa, how do you sew elastic fabric? For instance, hems. What thread do you use? When I use ordinary yhread and straight stitch, when I pull the hem harder it tears. That is why I am asking you.
They quit putting drawstrings (that tied) in children's hoodies; because, children were getting hanged (until dead) when their drawstrings got caught in joints on playground equipment (the modern plastic slides that are enclosed and out of view of parents, teachers, and anyone else supervising children.

Looks incredibly beautiful. What a nice combination of colors!
I actually don’t care much for color block usually but that’s super cute!!
It came out so cute. I love it! ❤ Also love the color. Thanks for sharing.
You did a lovely job! The color combinations are two of my favorite.
Hello Alisa 😊. It turned out great. That little bit of sparkle just makes it. 👌🏼

That looks great! Surge fabrics are awesome. I buy a lot from them!!
This is adorable! You are so talented!! Blessings to you and yours.
Love your designs and positive attitude and encouragement. Thank you for your channel
I'm glad you pushed through this make. This is a great looking hoodie!

That is good thinking!!! Thank you, Alisha :)
Great idea. I could make some new hoodies with some where the arm length is too short 👍
Absolutely! That is a great idea for upcycles, too, good thinking!
You have given some new points regarding extending the arm hole ❤.... its hood I couldn't follow completely ...I will read it again repeatedly ...hoping for the best 😊

Nicely done

You are such an inspiration for me! This turned out so great! The colors look amazing on you 😊
Very cute. But I would need pockets lol !
You can add your own pockets, I have many tutorials for them on the channel. I, personally, don't like pockets in hoodies :)
Love watching you !!! I am looking to up-pad my dress form. I recently took my dress form down from the attic and she is not my twin anymore. How did that happen ?????? Oh, I know why .... He he, you're so funny :) Yes, dress forms have so much better snack food resistance than us mortals :)
Vanilla latte. Mmmmm😊.
Maravilhoso
*dancing (while you're cutting)*
So cute! Can you post your patters for download? I am not good at drafting patterns but I think yours will fit me.
Unfortunately, no :) it takes a lot of time and money to digitize them :)
I think a lot of projects have an "ugly phase" where they don't seem like they will turn out. Just push through!

Mariya, I have a video on the channel called "how to sew knits on a regular sewing machine" - it will help you and you will find your answer.
👍🥰
