Lucy I live in Switzerland and bought things from you, but with you not been in the European my duty is very high, but I’m going to buy a pattern and fabrics. Great fabrics. Thank you
Hi Elsa, thank you so much for still supporting us and our small business, we really appreciate it, I'm sorry that the duty is so high and please don't ever feel obliged, only buy if you want to and can afford to.
Great video showcasing your gorgeous fabrics. I've never made a sweatshirt, but feel very inspired to do so now. Thanks for such good detail on everything Lucy ☺️
I made the Jalie hoodie (using my body measurements), after seeing your lovely gold coloured one, Lucy. It was absolutely huge! A family could camp in it and the hood would suit a Dementor! I'd love to know which size you made? Yours doesn't look oversized (aka bell tent style) which I hate. I learned from it though. It was the pattern that convinced me to measure the pattern pieces before I decide which size to make for any pattern.
I'm so surprised to hear this, I remember just making it based on my body measurements and choosing the relevant size. The size charts do incorporate a lot of sizes on the Jalie patterns though, I wonder if it's possible you cut out the wrong size by mistake?
I made the Jalie hoodie, after your first vlog about it, using the same yellow jersey that you used and I love it. It is ‘generous’ in size as yours is, but very snuggly, and I like how it’s turned out. The only thing is, using the same fabric for the hem band didn’t work for me, it was far too small for my hips (I have larger hips!). I had to unpick it and have ended up with a band of the yellow jersey below the kangaroo pocket and the rest of the hem band is now black ribbing. Loved the top stitching and the stitching below the hood. I made the Jalie joggers too, using a grey fleece back jersey from your shop, which I also love…such an easy jogger pattern, and the sizing was spot on. The pockets are brilliant. Much better than any other jogger pattern I’ve tried. The only thing is that I cut them the ‘wrong’ way, across the weave instead of down, but you wouldn’t know it unless I let you into the secret, so I still love them. I’ve made two Jarrah sweatshirts, one with the longer body with dropped hem, higher neckline and cuff sleeves, using a really cheap fabric that I got in an Abakhan sale, very warm and fleecy. I made another with the same sleeves but crew neck with ribbing and hem band. This was in a French Terry lightweight loop back fabric, so mid-season. As someone else has commented this version does come up short, but my choice of fabric means it’s not a winter garment anyway. I have now cut out a third Jarrah version for the ‘tie’ waist hem version, in another French terry with an autumn leaf pattern.
Absolutely love the French Terry glitter and also the teal sweatshirt fabric. Can you recommend what size ball point needle would be best for these please. Thank you for a brilliant video
Great video. Just must mention that the Jarrah which comes up quite short I’ve found. Also the toaster which I find a bit snug and short although I lengthened it 2 inches and I find I never wear it which is a shame. I loved the sound of the snuggly sweatshirting so may like to order samples. Many thanks 😊
Beautiful fabrics! I really love patterns with unusual details. 😊 What is the pattern for the gorgeous red sweater on the mannequin? The ruffled neckline calls me. 😘
That is the beautiful Francesca blouse by Style Arc, such a fabulous pattern, you can find it here www.sewessential.co.uk/francesca-woven-shirt-style-arc-pattern
Hi Lucy, another great roundup! I'm not sure if you were aware, but several of the fabrics below don't have a link to your shop and when you search for them, they're difficult to find. They are missing key description words, i.e. glitter or quilted. The key words are also missing in the initial descriptions. i.e. For the French Terry Glitter fabric, the name on your site is Plain Sweatshirt Jersey Fabric. The pictures don't pick up the glitter or the quilted feature on the ecru marled fabric, so unless you go into the page and read the descriptions there, you would miss the unique characteristic of the fabrics. I've come across this before when searching your site. You have such gorgeous fabrics, but the site isn't doing them justice. I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm nit picking, I don't mean to criticize. I just thought you'd like to know. Thanks for all of your work in bringing us the fabrics.
Please don't apologise, I appreciate all of your feedback it is really helpful and I do the videos to help sell the fabrics because you're right, it is so hard to do them justice with photos. I've updated all the links now, I'm so sorry the fabrics were added to the site after I recorded the video and I forgot to update the links. Thanks for pointing it out.
Love the ponte

Hi Lucy, I love your sweater. Burda has a similiar pattern in a burda easy issue about ten years ago. Well done!
