This Adobe Illustrator tutorial goes over how you can simplify the amount of points that are used in the paths for your objects & illustrations inside the program! I cover both the simple way of accomplishing this, and also more advanced options if you want even more control over how your object is simplified.
Simplifying the paths on objects is often most important when you're dealing with very complex images that can have thousands of points, which can lead to Illustrator crashing or running more slowly than is ideal. Simple is often good, but I also show what can happen if you over simplify and lose some of the fidelity of your image.

Cheers for this, My problem is, all of a sudden i NOW have to simplify every line i draw.? Frustrating.! No matter what i do i can't seem to change or keep 'Retain'.? I've never had to go into this option, but now i do.? Why do you think the points have tripled in number? Have i hit a button accidentally?....Thanks.
