    Such a beautiful rendition of one of my favourite pieces in the classical guitar repertoire, played exquisitely well and with so much feeling by someone so young. Extremely talented musicians and artists will tell you that there is no such thing as being gifted. Maybe they are just being modest but one thing I do know is that such playing does not come from hard work alone. Otherwise artists and musicians like Alexandra Whittingham be a dime a dozen and they would cease to elevate the spirit in the rest of us the way they do.

  • @jessiegashler427
    @jessiegashler427 2 года назад +8

    The talent alone that is required to play this is awe inspiring.....
    But the ability to infuse true soul and spirit into it in the way you do is exceedingly rare. Playing music isn't just about playing the right notes at the right time. To truly play music is to let the piece become an extension of your emotions and let the true spirit of the music pour out.
    This was a deeply emotional piece

      @pwaterdu I play Caprico Arabe myself (for me the best piece ever written for guitar, another great guitar composer A. B. Mangore made a couple variations of it) but because of praising this kind of performances less and less people are listening to classical guitar music. Yes, when You are a young student the tone production is very important. But today every performance "has to be" extremely "dramatic" usually at the expense of the rhythm. My analogy to a performance like this is walking - three steps normally, then two steps running, then stopping for a moment for no obvious reason, then running again and so on... very annoying to listen. When observing a person walking this way the first thought is worrying for a person's mental health, but when a guitarist does it, we seem to enjoy it!?
      Luckily there are still some guitarists that are able to put everything together, respect the rhythm and add some personal note to the performance. Unfortunately this is not one of them (at least not for me).

Along with violin and piano, the classical guitar is perhaps the most beautiful sounding instrument of all. I may be biased. I am an amateur Spanish guitar player. Also a steeldrum tuner who uses the classical guitar for tonal inspiration.

    It's one thing to hear beautiful classic guitar music...another thing to watch a beautiful woman...lastly...a beautiful woman skillfully playing classic guitar...there are at least 6 or 7 of these fantastic musicians/guitarists who are great and happen to be beautiful. Female beauty...unbelievable!

    Très beau concert, très bien joué. I love Spanish composers like Tárrega, Rodrigo, Albéniz... a concerto like Capricho árabe should be played in the gardens of the Alhambra in Granada, Spain.
