Even though the movie wasn’t the best, this scene was still amazing and a great opening idea. The fact that the president asks Charles for the help of the X-Men and the sequence with the ship flying up as fast as possible is awesome. Also the background music
This scene reveals a great sense of heroism, translated into the urgency imposed by the (wonderful) soundtrack as it shows how the X-Men care about people who are in danger. I Love see the president trusting them and seeking.
1:53 that shot is so eerie : The music with Pheonix energy's theme, the lack of sound and the little "whomph" when the ship goes by with the reveals of the energy.
I found Simon Kinberg's direction pretty solid He was able to give the movie an identity of its own, rather than trying to replicate Bryan Singer's direction Unlike Brett Ratner tried to do in The Last Stand
What I like the most about the X-Men movies is the fact that they never tried to follow the MCU's formula or its tropes, especially after it became a trend They never relied on nostalgia, the tone always kept consistent, and they always focused on the present And Dark Phoenix kept that way They kept their sense of individuality. Even the score was different in each movie.
Why is Raven calling the shots there. Raven has all been the antagonist even in the comics. She only just changed in Apocalypse. The team leader should have been Cyclops imo.
that one moment of Scott reaching to Jean's shoulder was so accurate as to who he is in my mind since I was a kid. I've always wanted to see a good accurate cyclops, big dude, serious, a leader, but has a heart that just melts.
Really is a shame. Zimmers score really carries this film. I’m still glad we got him to score an X-Men film. Hope he does another comic book film in the future.

One, there was still air in the ship so storm would have been able to use her powers and the others were able to breath when saving the astronauts Jean has vacuum adaptation so can breath air in unoxidised spaces such as the vacuum of space - hens her ability to breathe and scream etx Also - the jet likely has oxygen tanks to feed it with oxygen so that they don’t die on normal missions when in the jet
Actually, the Jet wasn't even meant to be spaceworthy yet. Hank just said "Yes, theoretically". Taking the Jet up into space was the first gamble! So it makes sense that they would not have suits or masks on hand. And Nightcrawler could have just teleported them out if there was a problem.
@@ryanjackson3539 Okay. This is annoying because they show about the oxygen visually (its annoying because i think it should have been exposition rather than vfx). There is air already inside the shuttle and storm seals all the cracks with ice. The shuttle's system would then keep pumping air into the shuttle so Jean could breathe. We see air rushing out before Storm seals the cracks and then it stops when she seals up the cracks so it doe make sense that she could breathe. As the X-Jet was meant to be space capable, it probably means that Hank put RCS thrusters and air tanks into the Jet so the crew could breathe and the Jet could turn. RCS thrusters are generally very small so chances are they didn't bother to stick them on the VFX model or show them at all.

Other than Magneto getting extremely nerfed in this movie _(worst part of this film)_ I liked it quite a bit. It's not the best X-Men film, but it didn't deserve to fail. I wish they had kept making these movies. I can't get enough X-Men movies.
I think the black suits worn by the X-Men in the original trilogy are too bland and devoid of senses exciting colour - I think they should wear the costumes shown in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix". This would be true to the comics as well, as the original team wore yellow costumes, before getting their own individual uniforms. I agree, that apart from training sessions in "The Danger Room", where the team can wear the comic book costumes for superhero playing fun, as depicted in "X-Men: Apocalypse" (I think this should be done in "X-Men: The Last Stand" by the way), these costumes are too goofy for live-action storytelling (it works great in the comics and cartoons), making the team seem to have disproportionate priorities, being deluded into thinking that playing superhero is suitable for serious, life and death situations, not just for them, but for others they're aiding too. You don't see The Fantastic Four or The Incredibles wearing different uniforms, and it only works with The Avengers because they only come together on specific occasions, being separate entities otherwise.
Every film was a product of its time, specifically the original trilogy came out when "dark and gritty" was the way to go, which is a shame but then again you can't deny how important and actually great X-Men and X2 were. X-Men: The Last Stand was an entertaining action picture but a hugely disappointing film which lacks ambition.

The films got flaws it’s true but the visualism and much more of a darker and realism tone is what we should of had last film. Big plus of the film.

Honestly I wouldn't have expected either Charles or Storm's powers to be effective in space
