My stock D17 just flung a rod thru the block due to bad oil pump so here I am about to go pull a k20a1 from a pick a part for $380 and I’m starting the process to swap my em2 sedan😏 thnx for all the info🤙🏼

I swapped out the stock engine from my Honda Element for an engine from a first gen Acura TSX. The extra 40 HP makes a big difference when your trying to merge on the interstate.

I'm an old dude (59) and wanting to K-swap my '02 EM2. Looking at K20A2 because I do like smaller engines (than a 2.4) for their economy plus I like the rev happy 200 HP specs on it. Is that the same esk kit or whatever you talked about? I know I need an RSX subframe and the new engine, trans and ECM but I know virtually nothing other than that and the D17A2 bites. Well mine has been great but 127 hp isn't too much.....lol

I K24 swapped my 2dr civic ex and I had the same exact setup. I had to put the cars battery in the trunk. I love this setup

Easiest chasis to kswap and awd. I have a built k24a2 in mine on 28lbs pte 7675. 725hp to front wheels have no traction even in 4th gear
I'm about to K24A2 swap my sleeper ES1 and traction is my main concern too. I don't plan on doing any engine mods except Type S oil pump, intake, header, exhaust, and Kpro, but I still worry that I won't have any traction. We will see, perhaps I will eventually get some kind of AWD setup.

I like watching others build their civics. currently doing research and writing down a bunch an entire list down to do a engine swap on my 05 em2. I want to keep it forever so it's getting the entire treatment from motor to suspension to paint (current paint has bubbles and rust) I don't plan to talk about the motor swap anymore on social media until it's done. It's not a common swap civic guys would do.

Always wondered why Honda never put the K series in the 7th gen coupes.
I had the same exact thought.
Left the honda scene after totaling my 05 civic.
Went back to my roots with toyotas, Camry, supra, tundra etc.
Prob will get back into honda scene again with another 7th gen civic to replace my 350k mile camry lol

There’s so many k swaps nowadays as well as guides to do them ur basically set just study, study, study. Sounds to me you don’t even have the knowledge or tools to do this (it’s ok, I don’t either) I recommend just befriending people who have done this themselves then hitting them with the question, “hey, would you like to take away a month of your life for my k swap?” Car ppl are usually nice so they’ll prolly say yes to the challenge. Or you can get all the parts, engine, and trans after studying for a month on what you need then just taking the parts to your local mechanic and say, “hey can you k swap my car for me” won’t be cheap but will be the cheapest mechanic swap you can ever get since it’s a Honda k swap for Chryslers sake

It comes with a TRUCK load of parts and a full K swap with it
Good job on the video however you are incorrect in saying if you have kpro you don’t need Speedo healer. If vehicle uses a regular final drive gear sensor and you are running the magnetic one kpro doesn’t convert the frequency so you will need the ktuned speedo healer to do the frequency change for cluster to work. You are correct about immobilzer tho that you can disable in kpro.

Actually it’s you sir that is incorrect...well at least partially, k-pro v4 when installed by Hondata is actually capable...I know, because mine works. No Speedo “healer”

@@Serpentis666 would definitely need something to convert the frequency unless you are using a DC5r gearbox or a k20a2 or Ep3 5spd or ur z3 internals are in a 02-04 casing not my first rodeo just did a k24/k20 in my Dc2 kpro v4 also and no Speedo until I wired in the ktuned speedo healer 🤷🏽♂️

Only if you plan on manual swapping it, or plan on replacing the transmission again later. Cause automatics trans rebuilds are not advised and just as expensive as buying a new one. Hope this helps at all. 01-02 civic automatic transmissions have been known to fail, and it's why most people advise not buying a 7th gen civic

Can you install a turbo on this setup in this chassis? Are there any turbo exhaust manifolds available for this setup in this chassis?

Honda are all I drive. I bought 06 Honda civic not knowing about the block issue yet. I am very passion cars so there no selling. I own a 05 rsx. so I know about kseries. I want to kswap so bad in that civic that doesn't really have any spaces. but si engine are very expensive with out tranny. Just trying to understand what I'm up against. Your video help me. Been reach alot of dead ends lately. Seeing this, I finally understand. :( i got to Frankenstein this crap.

I have a stock 2003 civic lx, I want to engine swap and get some new racing transmission and fuel injectors for high hp. Any ideas? My current engine has 102k miles, the Honda is in great conditions. Garage car from an old couple.
If your going full moter then what this guys done but if you want boost I’d personally say a k20 cause they are a smaller engine than the 24s

This isn’t an LX it’s an EX. Only difference between the two is one has a sun roof and the other doesn’t. And Vtec on the exhaust valves for fuel economy. So In short. Yes, It’s the same platform. There isn’t anything different about the engine bay from even the sedans and coupe I don’t think. Just different levels of technology in the car pretty much
For the record you can pretty much swap any car as long as the engine fits in the bay. 🤷🏻♂️
