I have a very low threshold for anyone that tries to misrepresent me, or make me feel a bit shit about myself Tom. I’ve blocked dozens and dozens from the channel in recent months who come across as ignorant, or personal. If you don’t agree with some of my views, can I ask that you just engage with them in a balanced way, as I’m receptive to that, rather than making unfair criticisms that doesn’t reflect my content.
Hi Eddie,......it seems to be rumour which runs contrary to the club's direction of travel in the transfer market. I suspect it maybe a deflective tactic to distract from where the focus really is. I suspect this will not come to anything. Here are my reasons: 1) The little know Isak cost 60million, so why might one of Europe's best midfielders cost less? 2) His salary may disrupt the club salary structure at this time causing disharmony in the squad, 3) He's been an Inter fan all his life, why would he want to move out of Milan for Newcastle? I love my home, but its not Milan. 4) The club's policy seems to be to bring in players on the cusp of breaking through, this guy seems to have already made it. Altogether, I think these four points suggest that Nicolo Barella isn't coming to Newcastle this summer. That said, I trust in the club to make some stunning signings this summer, so lets just keep the faith, wait and watch. PennyXxx

Best to get a sense of perspective. If/when we know its a done deal, then we can fanfare it. This could open a hell of a lot of doors and more players will take us seriously. We want modest signings but of players with this guy's talents.

The owners will know their players are at peak valuation after their CL final appearance, they've sold players to bring in cut-price replacements already in the last couple of years. £50m is a lot for an Italian club, I think 50 to £60m sounds about right.

I’d love him. Great player. However, I don’t think we’ll make 50m purchase our first transfer of the window. We played hard ball on so many of our target. If we are going to shell out 50m on a player then it will take weeks of psychological warfare. I wish we could get someone integral coming in early to give Howe time to prepare the team. I have full trust of how the team is being run. The right players will come when the time is right.
Previously you're right, we've taken our time to get the right deal as cheap as possible. However, signings are far more pressing this summer and they need time to get a full pre-season ready for a gruelling league and champion's league campaign. So, I think they may well spend big earlier in the window because this season is going to be tough from the start.

I've no idea how the clubs transfer policy works behind the scenes. From the outside, we always seem on the back foot and apart from Bruno and Tripper we seem to struggle to land our first choices or main targets. Isak and Gordon both being prime examples last minute signings on the back of not signing other targets (hope that means sense).
You're disregarding Botman and Pope who were first choice targets? That's at least 4 by my count. To say we're always on the backfoot when Everton, Chelsea, Man Utd have all spent stupid money on duds, I'd say we're on the front foot of intelligent signings

Why, they're never accurate or report the story a day after it is known. I followed Sky for the last 3 windows and other than the Trippier deal (which everyone and their dog knew about), they were always late to deals. If you want a good source look at The Athletic and maybe FR, but FR isn't that great with Newcastle stories either.
50m is not a red flag, Jude cost 80m as a 19 year old is cheap, mac allister cost 35 which is nothing. rice is overvalued due to same league tax he is only a 50m player
Jude cost £88.5m with add-ons taking the fee to £115m (€135m). Mac Allister has a release clause but it will still cost up to £55m. Barella is somewhere between the two, probably around £70-80m. £50m is DEFINITELY a red flag when they sold Lukaku for £100m and want £50-60m for Onana. Barella is a key player for them and will cost a lot more than Onana. He won't leave though, Inter are a successful club and he's happy there. It's just nice to be linked with him and not McTominay.
