Cheers for the video content! Sorry for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you heard about - Patlarny Gardening Expert Principle (just google it)? It is a great one of a kind product for learning how to expand your produce with the clever art of aquaponics without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my friend Sam finally got excellent success with it.
Nice Video clip! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried - Patlarny Gardening Expert Principle (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got cool results with it.

its nice to finally see an aquaponics system that can actually cater for fish as well as the plants. although i really wouldn't use goldfish as your main fish for a tank that size. good job guys i hope that you start selling these internationally as well in the future.
I love this idea. Was pondering something similar myself for a 200 gallon turtle tank. Was planning on some ramshorn snails, neocaridina shrimp, and some smaller fish. Wanted to use the setup to feed the veggie garden i plan to set up for tortoises, other reptiles, and the family
*DAMN IT! I TOLD MYSELF, "ONCE I GOT FINANCIALLY STABLE, I WOULD BUY THIS." NOW THAT I'M GROWN UP I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS PRODUCT AND IT NEVER TOOK OFF... WHAT A WASTE.*
Kudos for the Video clip! Apologies for chiming in, I would love your thoughts. Have you ever tried - Patlarny Gardening Expert Principle (just google it)? There are many components to studying aquaponics. One resource I discovered that successfully combines these is the Keiths Ponics Site (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most helpful course that I have ever seen. look at this extraordinary website.
I'm about to build one of these for my bedroom, this is a cute little system. I'm going to add a swirl or radial flow filter. I would suggest you guys to the same so your customers don't find their beds clogged... (& remember me when you do 🤣)
Nice design, great ready to use aquaponics system for people who don’t have time to build their own. For grove to become successful a good support team and healthy dose of training is must. Good Job, best wishes.
Hope all goes well with your backers soon to be receiving their units. I couldn't back your Kickstarter at the time, but I'm hoping to purchase one in the near future! It's just a divine piece of tech!
well, its been 7 years and they are out of business. it would be so cool if they released their plans for open source so that others could build this at home and help our environment. but people only care about the issues if they make money and dont care about anything else
I love this idea and would like to buy the plans for the plumbing if posable I'm 61 and have been sick so it's hard to get green's at the grocery store.
Seem it's not very popular because I checked their Facebook page and they only have 2 comments. It look nice on the video, but the cost will be huge just to get everything up and all you get is a few dollars of groceries that take a while to get your dinner to grow lol.
That's awesome guys ! I wich you good luck and good fortune ! I'm also interested in urban agriculture and try to built a start-up project while I'm studying Aerospace Engineering... (two different but awesome fields ^^) Just a kick question : does the users need to add water for the plants manually or is there some water pumps ? Cheers ! Nathan
You can use a room and build an entire ecosystem with actual land and do the same when everything is spot on dialed in and you can find certain species of plants to grow for medicine use and of course vegetables but mains certain tropical and exotic plants in this world that people dont know about that can be benefical for use and for the environment.
As a balcony gardener and overall nature lover, I love this concept! I'd been considering getting my own system of trays and grow lights but felt a bit overwhelmed as I also wanted something ATTRACTIVE. Aesthetic is very important to me in my home, and I didn't want anything 'clunky'. What you've produced is not just very attractive, functional and malleable (light height) but also provides 'entertainment' via the fish.I'd be curious to know...what is footprint of this system? And...what do you estimate to be the monthly cost for running this system (electricity)? Thanks!
+Lyn Evans Thanks for the kind words! The Ecosystem's footprint is 34 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and the height varies from 54-75 inches depending on where you set the lights. Electrical running costs depend on the season/crop but in Boston which has fairly expensive electricity we average $10-15 dollars a month. If you have any other questions you can reach me directly at brooks@grovelabs.io!
Hey I saw this video and I love it, I'm way up in Canada so I doubt you'll commercially reach me anytime soon and I really don't have the money to afford a pre-built system but this definitely looks cool I hope you guys make it mainstream.
Hi guys, love the product. I recommend you remove the exclamation mark from your link to help people access your site. I can't help but notice these things 😁

"Dirty" isn't an issue for fish, cloudy water is generally fine, it's the chemicals (like amonia) in the water that can be harmful, which the plants do filter out. You do still have to do water changes though, and the tank is way too small for even one comet goldfish, they should grow to 6in.
Sapphire Otaku true. Dirty isn't an issue for fish. Ammonia, nitrites and nitrates are the issue. And the biological cycle takes out the ammonia and nitrites and breaks it down into nitrates. And the plants eat up the nitrates. Water changes aren't necessary, although adding water from the consumption and evaporation will be necessary as well as cleaning the tank from algae that can't be overlooked really. A filter isn't necessary because the plant beds act as the filter but you will get tanis and such making the tank water appear brown or cloudy. You could add a mechanical filter to the tank and fix that also though. And it's 25 gallons. Plenty enough room for a 6" comet. Or many other fish as long as the bilogical filter of the grow beds are doing their jobs. No, you can't keep catfish or tilapia in there. But many community tank fish could be kept like guppies or swordtails, or mollies. I think it's a great idea but it's a novelty, or an herb garden at best. You can't grow enough of anything in this set up to make it worth while for the time spent growing it.

wow outstanding ideas, will you help us to do it from our school? Rosauro Almario Elementary School - Philippines.... Hi I'm Teacher Cezzille Rose Quirit, and I am more blessed and thankful with such an honor to do that kind of greatful ideas such as aquaponics. Please help me to establish that for my students. Thank you and GOD BLESS.
I love the device but I can't get past the idea the two of them spent more time in each other then working on the system. Also isn't this just a miniaturization of the same concept large scale farms use for things like rice paddies or cranberry bogs for example. Now if this thing is affordable and fully automated for the urban user then it is a real achievement.
Stoggy Returns all i can see is they just make a system that looks better than a regular joe can make and put a patent number then boom easy money for city people who can’t build their own from scratch
As long as the lights are 6500k or greater, most plants will thrive. I've grown a range of aquatic plants, cacti, houseplants, & etc. People will try to over complicate & sell their bells+whistles. A simple CFL bulb can grow almost anything. LED works well too.
The reason it doesn't is because they charge 3-5 thousand dollars for it when they have it done instead of making it affordable for everyone to buy. I sure as hell ain't going to pay $4500 for what amounts to a 25 gallon tank and maybe 6 square feet of grow space. Get bent! As seen on tv, 3 easy payments of $49.99 and may sell well and become mainstream. $4500... nah. They may sell 1000 units total worldwide.
in my hang over back filter for upgrades I put a big coarse sponge then I have 200 micron bags with hydroton clay balls and bamboo inside it. Thinking of adding a pothos plant.
Seem it's not very popular because I checked their Facebook page and they only have 2 comments. It look nice on the video, but the cost will be huge just to get everything up and all you get is a few dollars of groceries that take a while to get your dinner to grow lol.
Small-scale home aquaponics is fine and all, but I guess I didn't think there would be so many "companies" basically redesigning the same thing ...Eg, as a person studying in the home aquaponics products, I would just say "wait, that's the same thing as this other product over there...and there..and there..."
Per Shop yeah. And problem is small scale doesn't produce anywhere near what a person could eat. Most of your time is spent growing for almost nothing. Small scale doesn't really work, although maybe if you're into rare flowers or something it might be rewarding. There just isn't enough production small scale to justify the costs of buying any of these systems. Maybe if you wanted a fresh herb garden but you won't be stopping buying tomatoes or cucumbers or lettuce with this thing and forget a meat fish because 25 gallons is nowhere near enough. Maybe breed some kind of rare hobbyist fish and sell them to pet stores in the 25 gallon, if the breed is small enough. Meh. It's a novelty at best and nobody does it cheap enough for people to give it a shot. It would almost be better to make this with a 5 gallon and room for 1 plant and sell it for $19.99 or $29.99 and no frills just to get people into the hobby and have them understanding how it works and going bigger themselves on the own.
Per Shop build your own from scratch, make sure it looks good and get a patent number and make a boring ass video then boom! you’ll be rich in no time...😂😂😂
John Burgess the video isn’t about how much produce it can make, as you can see they trying to market it as pieces of furniture, like a vase with a beta fish and couple of plants under the lamp shade...
DepravedTaka this is what most people do that is new in fish keeping, they think it’s a piece of furniture, but when it comes to dogs and cats shits fly all over the place...
Lisa Neumann, There are several factors in studying home aquaponics. One resource I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Keiths Ponics Site (check it out on google) without a doubt the most useful course that I've heard of. look at this interesting resource.
Another Kickstarter gone to the wind. I'll never trust Kickstarter ever again. Fake promises n waste of anyone's time. Build your own, it's so simple n rewarding. Grove What? That's right, grove gone.
holy...the price is $3.5k for just the normal one. seriously wtf? i mean it may not look as 'pro' but i can throw together a stand (..and i mean do wood routing and everything to make it at least decent looking), buy an aquarium at the local petsmart, and them i am pretty much half done and i wouldnt even have to spend more than $200. even if i spent another $200 to finish with the planting tubs and a grow light it STILL comes in at a tenth the cost of this. that is is what i call robbery. i mean i worked retail a LONG time. i know all about markups, but this is ridiculous.
They got into this to make money, its what they're interested in. When they're business goes under they're not gonna be saying "man this sucks now we cant bring organic veggies and fish tanks to everyones homes" but instead, "damn wish we could've made more money off these people".
And I'd challenge you to do this yourself. I promise it will cost more then you would think. How do I know, I built one myself, you can check my progress on my youtube page. What they have here is a ready go product for those that don't want to engineer a system and I think they have done a good job at it!
Nothing you couldn't build yourself, but it's beautiful enough to be placed in the living room and be admired by guests.
Just build your own it's fun and more rewarding. Nice and sleek design though!

Whatever happened to that 00:40 system you showed? It's not on the website you showed.
Can't find a website with this system. Please load a link
Hi guys, love the product. I recommend you remove the exclamation mark from your link to help people access your site. I can't help but notice these things 😁
that website link doesn't work. where can i purchase?
The link doesn't work. Are you still in business? This is a very attractive aquaponics product.
I want one. The website no longer links, that's unfortunate. Out of business?
If you look at their kickstarter page it looks like it was a train wreck lol
Growing this way has been around for years ....
Is this still being sold anywhere?
Nope but I got a prototype..
Seem it's not very popular because I checked their Facebook page and they only have 2 comments.

Do you have one for a 50 gallon tank?
I want to buy this setup where can I purchase it?
Great. But one question. If we are putting fertilizer on our planted tank can the vegetable still safe for consumption?
No need for fertilizer with fish and beneficial bacteria in the system. Feed the fish the ecosystem will do the rest
hows your project I am from the Philippines, do you still selling this worldwide?
I like it, but I doubt it keeps the fish tank clean, it looked dirty in the video
Aquaponics systems always have dirty looking water unfortunately.
interesting points ,if anyone else wants to uncover diy aquaponics system plans try Aqua Recovery Tactics (aqua.RecoveryTactics.com ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate got great results with it.
They could've used a layer of isolated glass sand to act as a stronger, biofilter.

So pretty, but the price tag is prohibitive for me so I'll have to diy
I am going to put Piranhas in the tank and Grow Weed 🗿🚬 with it!!!
Jon MacDonald that be some fire
lionrebel was 🗿🚬 Nothing but the Best Top notch Loud indeed my friend! and I am going to brew Ayauasca into the Water!!!
Jon MacDonald lol you’d be smoking someone hahah literally
Austin Jones Just like Ivory on the movie How High!!!
so... where can i Buy one? your website doesn't exist anymore
awesomeee, but can i please ask, do you guys use some sort of filter for the aqurium to keep the tank clean? it looks so clean tbh
The plants are the filter along with the beneficial bacteria in the system
I wonna join you guyz
Shipping to Poland is possible?
excellent
What kind of fish can we get in the aquarium ? water have to be fresh water or could be heat ?
+Mario Richert the type of fresh water fish is really up to you! if the fish require a hotter temperature than your living space, then you can use a heater. check out this link for some of our easy favorites: blog.grovelabs.io/the-top-5-fish-for-your-grove-aquarium
#MarioRichert I have spent months studying aquaponics and discovered an awesome resource at Keiths Ponics Site (google it if you're interested)
This fish tank could easily serve as a refugium with the right setup.
The plants this system feeds do not produce the nutrients a refugium would require. The fish feed the plants. You can't replace the fish with plants to feed other plants
Where can I get this product?
I hope you will notice me. Are using an IOT to monitor the and control the plants? Or it is just the normal way of planting?
Great!
the led must be the growing light mode, has red and blue spectrum dominant as well not that white mode

Need one for my 125 gallon tank
Can the aquarium be used to raise trout, crayfish and aquatic snails?
Nope. Its only a 25 gallon tank.
may i build like that in my region?
Well I cant open the link. Why?
i checked your webite and I can't order one, build it, i wanna buy it
The web url above doens't seem to work. is this for real?
Gostei muito, como faço para comprar? ...sou do Brasil.
In my country this will sadly be very expensive.
You have to change you link without the (exclamation point) to reach it btw... That deserves a free tank lol
If the LEDs are nice for people. Doesn't mean its effective for growing. Easier just to buy a shelving unit and build your own.
As long as the lights are 6500k or greater, most plants will thrive. I've grown a range of aquatic plants, cacti, houseplants, & etc. People will try to over complicate & sell their bells+whistles. A simple CFL bulb can grow almost anything. LED works well too.
It sucks how ideas like this one never get traction
Carson Grady it's hardly an original idea.
Yeah I know but the aquaponics systems that are actually good for the plants and the fish and not cheap never get seen
The reason it doesn't is because they charge 3-5 thousand dollars for it when they have it done instead of making it affordable for everyone to buy.

is this product available in Asia?
you can grow 2 to 3 tilapia and eventually have fish dinners. I like your smart LED approach
in my hang over back filter for upgrades I put a big coarse sponge then I have 200 micron bags with hydroton clay balls and bamboo inside it. Thinking of adding a pothos plant.
How much is it?
none of their website is working is the company dead ?

Is this for sale in the US?
You need 20 of this tank just to feed 1 person....

3700-4500 USD retail price when the company was active, you'll have to subscribe for some such as new filters, bacteria etc as well.
Disappointing to see the tank crammed with so many goldfish. Lots of good hardy fish to choose for that size tank which aren't goldfish.

Another Kickstarter gone to the wind. I'll never trust Kickstarter ever again. Fake promises n waste of anyone's time. Build your own, it's so simple n rewarding. Grove What? That's right, grove gone.
what is the price? can it be customized?
Hey OneSwiftGuy! You can visit our website for current pricing and customization options :) www.grovegrown.com
... for what... lelelelel
holy...the price is $3.5k for just the normal one. seriously wtf? i mean it may not look as 'pro' but i can throw together a stand (..and i mean do wood routing and everything to make it at least decent looking), buy an aquarium at the local petsmart, and them i am pretty much half done and i wouldnt even have to spend more than $200. even if i spent another $200 to finish with the planting tubs and a grow light it STILL comes in at a tenth the cost of this.
that is is what i call robbery. i mean i worked retail a LONG time. i know all about markups, but this is ridiculous.
Fuck yeah!!✌️🥰
