I really like these tutorials, easily one of the best series I've seen for any kind of creative software. They're very informative and thorough. You're also easy to watch and relate to because you're human and don't try to cover up things/mistakes that naturally happen during your tutorials. No need to apologise for making mistakes, it just makes me feel like it's easier to feel comfortable enough to try the program out myself :)
Thank you for making these tutorials. I've just stumbled upon your channel through this series and I've got to say that the janky weirdness, figure-it-out-as-we-go kind of vibe is what makes it so calming to watch and easy to understand.
You made Animate easier to understand my man! Thanks so much for making this! Watching someone do it step-by-step is so much more helpful than just showing every feature! Also, thanks for using different techniques for every set of elements (i.e. frame by frame, etc.) Love it!
Thank you for these great tutorials! I always found this software hard to get into. But I like your approach. And following your easy lecture makes me pick up a lot of stuff.
Thank you very much for creating these tutorials and putting so much effort into them :) They're very easy to follow and extremely helpful. Awesome work man!
great video. one thing i might mention though (you might have and I just missed it or didnt hear) is that after you have the bone tool selected and you have the joints where you want them, hover over the joint until the icon turns into a thumb tack and click it in order to keep the joint in place. anyway, finishing up trees then moving on the part 4 for friday!
Can you help me out? I love this tutorial! It's the first time using Adobe Animate and I think it's great. Because I'm dutch, it's hard to follow sometimes. But I'm doing well I think. There is only one thing I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. When I use the bone tool, all my layers of the tree disappear and I only have the layer with the armature left. I can't figure out what I did wrong. Can you help me out?
I have had object mode on since I started the trunk and I’ve drawn it 5 times. Trying to figure out why all my brush strokes are separated. Thank God you did the same thing😂 it what driving me crazy
Thank you so much for these videos! They are incredibly helpful and rich of informations. The only thing I got a bit stuck on is the bone tool, It won't connect more than one symbol, which I guess is a settings issue of some sort? The rest worked perfectly and I definitely learnt a lot from this!
The bone tool is awful! Try parenting your layers instead it achieves similar results. There's a tutorial on my channel called Character Rigging which goes over layer parenting. You can apply the techniques from that video to the trees in this one!
Really enjoying these tutorials - thanks man! I'm experienced in Premiere Pro & After Effects but new to the world of Adobe Animate. Can you suggest a good graphic tablet for starters? Thanks!
What would happen if you were to start the bone structure from the tip of the leaf? Would you run into anchoring problems with the bottom of the main trunk? if not, wouldn't it limit the amount of craziness the leaf has while you're trying to move the twig?
At 7:18, when I select classic tween, Animate says it has to convert to symbol. It looks like the tree trunk layer gets converted to a new symbol, not the symbol created earlier. Is that correct, or why did it not happen in the video?
I got the bone tool to work fine on one tree. When I do the other however it insists on only binding the fill of the lower part of the tree to the upper one and it look all scuffed when it moves. And other times the bone tool just refuses to work outright. It shows the little circle with a strike through it whenever i drag anywhere and doesnt apply any bones. Why is this happening? can you help?
After watching the first video and going almost through this one, I would say (as a guy that's been using After Effects for years), that there are some types of animations that's I'd rather do in After Effects, as it's a pain to do in Adobe Animate. The keyframing system is not as straightforward as After Effects', maybe I'd just stick to the frame by frame capabilities of Animate and export the animation to be completed in After Effects. But, your teaching is really great and has helped me grasp the concept of animating in AA. Thanks a lot!
havind some trouble with the bone tool.... when i put an armature from the tree to the branch, only the shaded part of the branch is getting connected via bone tool. anyway to bone the full branch instead of only half of it??
hey i am at around 8:45 when you drop into the trunk right symbol. I have it on frame 24 and when i double click to drop in i end up editing a tween (tween 11 i think) instead of trunk right symbol with the layers created earlier on. any idea whats going on here? Really enjoying the tutorial so far! excellent work!
@@TipTut thanks for the quick reply! i think i've got it now. really impressed with what you've put together here. easy to follow despite how complicated this program is
hey, i haven’t seen everything yet but is there any way to animate a sketch already done? because i want to do traditional drawing (with watercolor) and make an animation out of it, will it be more difficult?
Anyone knows how to set the view of the selection area ? I mean when you simply click on something there's this sort of shadow ... thing that I don't even know how to call. I'd like to lower its opacity or something so I can see what i'm doing in "paint selection" mode.
@@TipTut don’t mean to be mean but there’s just a lot of ‘oh that’s not right, don’t know why it did that’. I’d cut those bits out. The bone tool bit didn’t make me think you’d used it much before. Having said all this I am watching part 4 at the moment so it can’t be bad!
I remove mistakes if they're not helpful. I leave in mistakes which could be helpful. The bone tool is notoriously finicky and I hadn't used it much before, but included what I knew on request from some subscribers. I've learnt a lot more about the bone tool since this tutorial, and next week I have a character rigging tutorial coming out that should explain it better if youre still interested. Glad your enjoying the series!

never mind doing this makes it so the branch cant move at all and locks it. probably helpful in other aspects though
the trick is to hold shift and it locks it in place but allows to you rotate. leaving this comment incase someone else needs the info!
Nice find!
This tutorial deserves 1080 quality 🌝
Can you help me out?

These tutorials are really good, nice work!!! Hope to get into animate with these
great video!finally someone that decribe pretty much every tool that AA have
Glad you found it useful!
Thanks for sharing! You're brilliant ! Will wait for the fourth one : )
Thankyou so much! Its out monday :)
Wicked Tutorial man! Thanks for explaining so thoroughly!
No problem!
20:25 when u free rotate the leaf its ok, but when i try to do the same, it doesnt act smooth it just jump to the frame.

I agree completely. Frame by frame in AA, tweening animation in AE.

Theres probably another symbol on top and your accidentally clicking that one. You can double click the symbol in your library to access it directly.

Yes king!

Of course, just animate like this on paper, and then compile the drawings by scanning them in and using something like Adobe Media Encoder.
Amazing! Thank you
Happy to help!
Help me please. I can't connect object to other objects with bone tool. :(
Make sure you're dragging directly over the anchor point.

It's highlighting the area you've selected. You can't adjust it as far as I know.
@@TipTut Ok thanks for your answer anyway ! Great job ;)
THANKS BRO. UR ARE GREAT TEACHER..
You're a great student!
on part 3 now!
Well done! Nearly there!
Thank you!
Thank YOU!
I finally understand bone structure HAHAHA
Then you're better than me, I hate working with bones in Animate! :)
@@TipTut this month I will make an animation channel thank you sir for you help ^_^
thanks
No worries!
23:28 lol It's not you fault man... This is why nobody ever uses the bone tool; poorly designed and too buggy to do anything reliably.
I'll just stick to parenting layers in the future haha!
discort plssssssss
You are so cute, thanks for the tutorials
You're welcome!
Lesson I learned: never ever use the bone tool ever.
Yeah its shit haha
Lovely art style but learn how to use the software before making a tutorial!
