Value of art school is not just the education though. The professional connections is arguably way more valuable also the degree can help land jobs too

@dh4444 Yeah, I imagine that some people learn more in a structured and guided learning environment. Some folks just aren't organized or self disciplined enough to have the same educational experience on their own.
@@pathogensmusick - It depends upon how serious you are... I know people that wasted their time and money attending the infamous and now shuttered _Ai_ and getting absolutely nowhere, while grads like me attended the school of the same name back in the early/mid eighties when it was strictly a two-year finishing school, for which you had to attend a regular college or university for the required academic classes, as well as some of the prerequisites such as art history, typography and color theory, etc... It was a completely different education environment then with successful results...

I came here just to check out introduction to graphics design. This is brilliant; it's simple, yet gives a very focused representation of what someone needs. Then you include 'shadow' marketing (something spoken - that shapes, but stays in the 'shadows') as well as other techniques - it all makes this presentation rich - in content - while maintaining simplicity. My dad is a Graphic designer he's considered one of the best in my country he's certified with Adobe and has been doing design for over 30 years even before computers got involved he says I have the talent for it so I decided to take a course and realized I already know design back to front just from observing my dad's work and doing other creative fields my issue is I'm not experienced with any design programs so I'm trying to decide where to start because of budgetary reasons I want to stay away from Adobe for now and If I actually get jobs in I can switch over I'm not sure what a good alternative is
That is so cool Cara! I would say Affinity is a much less expensive option and is similar to Adobe.

I've loved Designs since childhood; No one explained into details any of these for my understanding.
With designs I didn't know if to go for Architectural design or Graphic design, but this video has really explained to my understanding, so I wish have Architectural design also explained very well to my understanding.

I've seen many youtube videos about graphic designs. I've practiced some design but not much. But after practice every time I'm feeling that i can't do any new design by myself, I can't create/ imagine new content or design. My head remains blank. This makes me demotivated every time😭😭
Hi Monjuri, this is not uncommon at the beginning and you just can not be so hard on yourself. You have to realize that all designers started with not knowing the skill and with tons and tons and tons of practice they moved themselves up to being better and better. Always look at the type of designs that you love to do and strive to get there. It’s ok to reference great designers to get ideas and to inspire. If you’re feeling stuck always see how others have solved similar problems and then go at it newly with your own take on it.

I think this is definitely a good alternative to people who aren't privileged to afford school. I do plan on taking a two year course at my local University, because although I can watch all of these videos, I lose my motivation to practice.
Going through a teacher who has years and years of progressive practice within the art will and CAN be incredibly beneficial.
I hope to aim to become a Graphic Designer and do freelance, be my own boss and create amazing things for others.

Very informative video 👍. I have a question for you. Is it possible to become an excellent graphic designer without a degree as compare to a person who have a degree in graphic designing? Does a degree in graphic designing gives you an edge or it depends upon your expertise in your work?
A degree has only seemed necessary at certain in house jobs. If you want to be a freelance designer, your skills, ability to produce a good product for the client and expertise are what matter.
