  • Welcome to Built by Design, a series of videos created to teach FIRST students how to effectively use Autodesk Inventor. Created by FIRST students, this series is meant to help teams improve the efficiency, completion speed, and accuracy of their designs. This video introduces perhaps the most powerful tool FIRST students can use during their robot design process: Frame Generator. This video teaches how to quickly and easily construct a robot chassis using the 3D wireframe created in the last video. Until next time, good luck out there.

I followed the instructions to the point but now my frame generator doesn't work at all. After I published my new frame element I am no longer able to press OK (its grayed out) when picking the sketch lines where I'd like my frames to be.
None of the frames appear anymore, not even the original and I'm not able to press OK.
Even the Reset Utility from Autodesk didn't help. I'm gonna reinstall the whole package to see if it helps.
EDIT: Either reinstalling everything helped or I didn't select the frame member in the dialog box. Everything works now.
