- It's easy to get amazing stock market returns when you pick the right stocks at the right price, according to Warren Buffett, and in this video, he explains how the average person can boost their returns using the right investing techniques.
There are so many ways to go about this thing. Most important aspect is to fund the portfolio as much as possible & stay the course. Minor adjustments are cool, but timing the market will steal a lot of wealth! :)
So what is in your opinion a good stock to buy for the longer term? ( I’m a rookie)
For the most part, I’m market-cap weight global indexed, with a little tilt towards tech, healthcare, and growth ETFs and in only 15 months I’ve surpassed a million dollars.
Killing it! I hope to be in your shoes in the future. Glad I was able to start early!
Thank you Otis. Appreciate the kind words. If you started early, and you stick with it, the result? You will be a happy camper with some serious wealth on the long term without any of the stress that traders went through.. I made my share of mistakes before starting for sure. It’s never too late to get the snowball rolling.
There’s definitely a psychological aspect to it. Seeing my account in the red 40% was crazy. Glad it rebounded though in the last months of 2023!
When I see these two on stage, I'm always reminded of the Mupett show. Their jokes are spot-on and their wit brilliant.
Yesss me too
RIP Charlie :(
So I'm already half way through this vid, where is the part about why it's easy to get amazing returns? LOL!
Read between the lines 😂
Just wait for Reddit or Discoid IPO and hold. A 10,000 investment in 10 years might make you a millionaire.
By investing in great companies
@@user-sf7kl9uh7k That's rather generic and unactionable... LOL!
Short term investing is a game of snakes and ladders. Staying away from the many snakes whilst trying to find those elusive ladders. Long term investing is about switching off, relaxing and never concerning yourself with what the daily price movements are doing. It's about having the confidence to hold long term and trusting the price will ultimately be much higher sometime in the future.
No substitute for experience. And these guys have a lot of it.
Charlie’s sense of humor was world class😅
I wonder if Warren Buffett ever sang the “cheer up Charlie” line to him when he was being a grumpster.

Thanks 👍
Another video clip from Berkshire's conference that doesn't match the title or thumbnail.
Indeed. But Buffett and Munger are so engaging and wise I completely forgot I was expecting to be told I can make big gains easily.
Sometimes you sit back and enjoy the ride, instead of worrying about the destination!
What’s the book they’re referring to? (Around 2-3 min mark)
Tap dancing to work
Awesome. Thanks.

Any idea what year this was? Charlie seems especially sharp here.

Always great wisdom.
Keep yourself humble.
We are born, we live, and we die.
The ultimate is the the last based on the Lord.
Love that these two don’t bs about how they accomplished what they did and the element of luck combined with consistency
I love Warren and Charlie very much. rip charlie
The whole point of wealth for me is freedom. My magic number in my mind is 5 million needed at 65 to not worry about anything. Am i better off investing a good portion of my income into stocks or saving my earnings to achieve this goal?
Varied sources of income is wise and especially living within your means. My net worth is $2M and I can pay my bills with no stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.
No doubt, having the right plan is invaluable, my portfolio is well-matched for every season of the market and recently hit 100% rise from early last year. I and my CFP are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal, tho this could take till Q3 2024.
How do I Find this Lady?>
Nicole Desiree Simon deserves credit as one of the finest portfolio managers in the industry. Her reputation precedes her, and I highly recommend looking her up to locate her online if you are internet-savvy
Yes 12+%. it's called what I believe to be xlk tech sector & s&p500 splg. But that's my hope.
Love the marriage advice at the end, lol.
These guys' words of wisdom are ABSOLUTE gold! I enjoy their down to Earth homespun common sense and humor.
The little girl's question and their response are the cherry on top. I love this video!
What is the book that Warren is referring to?

Thanks for this video
Yes, thank you for this video my friend 🫡
Please add to turkish subtitle 🙏
I remember this video when i was a kid
If most people can make 12% a year and the SP500 averages 7% per year, why does Warren publicly state fund managers can’t beat the market?
🤔
Pretty sure. S and p historically has been 10-11 range , I think the 7 percent is a figure people often quote after subtracting inflation
Because he is in competition with fund managers
Not only buying and holding, but keeping looking for new opportunities.
I think it's easier to behave better as you get more prosperous, as you've got less to be angry about.
Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.
I think this is something I should do, but I've been stalling for a long time now. I don't really know which firm to work with; I feel they are all the same but it seems you’ve got it all worked out with the firm you work with so i surely wouldn’t mind a recommendation.
Easy to become a millionaire...Apple, Microsoft, Google.
I did it and so can you.
Way too much common sense for most people.
Its very easy when your buddies tell you whats going to happen.
I'm thinking to put some cash in stocks, I was at Salt Shack and i overheard some friends saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?
I agree, just because the market presents opportunities doesn't mean we should rush in headfirst. For this reason, we should look for appropriate market analysis or guidance or, alternatively, seek advice from certified market strategists.
I've been able to scale from $350K to $920K this season because my FA figured out Defensive strategies to protect my portfolio and profit from this roller coaster market.
One of my goals is to employ the service of one this year. I've seen some off Facebook but wasn't able to get a response. Could you recommend who it is you work with?
Thank you for this tip. It was easy to find your FA on the web, Did my due diligence on her before reaching out to her. She seems proficient considering her résumé.

Charles Lindbergh's reputation went off the cliff when he became a fascist.
The more I see of Buffet's wealth increase along with the prices in the store and the prices for the fundamentals of living, the more I think the system is broken. And I wonder about the mindset of these billionaires. How much is enough? Aren't they embarrassed about coming out in public?
Buffett has already pledged to give away like 98 percent to charities.
Allocating money towards the most deserving in terms of stock allocation has the simple effect of boosting the companies generating the most value for the customer thereby benefitting us all. The investor and the stock market are not your enemies. Inflation is.
