I typically invest half my income in stocks monthly and hold for at least five years. However, my portfolio recently experienced a significant loss of around $150k. What should I do?

Seek stocks with a history of steady, increasing dividends over years or decades, resilient even during recessions. Consulting a certified market strategist can offer valuable guidance on maximizing dividend gains or income.

I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 30k in crypto and made about $246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded again and now I am rounding up close to a million.

Currently I'm just being smart and frugal with my money, I'm in the green 47% over the last 23 months and l've accumulated over $70K in pure profits from DCA’ing into stocks, ETFs, dividends and futures. However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait.

Putting well-earned money into the stock market can be over emphasized for first-time investors, unlike a bank where interest is sure thing! Well, basically times are uncertain, the market is out of control, and banks are gradually failing. I am working on a ballpark estimate of $5M for retirement, and I have a good 6-figure loaded up for this, could there be any opportunity for a boomer like me? I'm nearly 60.

When coupled with their access to odd data and analysis, underperformance is virtually impossible.

He genuinely believes it's better to spend everything and live a better life now rather than save for later, because the future is uncertain. When I ask what he would do in an emergency, he says he can always borrow due to his excellent credit score, which would cover any emergencies. Regarding retirement, he mentions that the Japanese government will provide him with a pension. Although he admits that the amount might be less than what's required to sustain a decent lifestyle, he's willing to make that sacrifice after he turns 65, since he believes he would have already lived a fulfilling life until he was 65.

Go to Vanguard and put your money into a total stock market fund, an international fund, and a bond fund. Contribute to them on a schedule (dollar cost averaging) and live below your means. Take your 12% yearly average and sleep well. You will accumulate wealth. You will destroy the hot shot speculators in this thread, though you won’t have the pleasure of bragging about your occasional home run while keeping silent about your many failures.
