I just started with this game with controller, but damn, so good to feel the power and weight of the car, even the vibrations are on point if there is no traction, i struggle to keep it on the road but it's hella satisfying after each smooth cornering
When going through hairpins I do almost exactly what you are doing, but instead my car just bogs down in 1st and just sorta crawls for a second or two before taking off again. What am I doing wrong??
+KSE2606 Most likely 2 things are happening 1. You aren't keeping the RPMs up high enough...or 2. You aren't bringing the car in at an angle. While you do need to slow the car down before actually getting into the hairpin, you do need some speed to get the car sideway. For the 1970s cars, you also need to keep the RPMs up very high. I keep the car in 2nd gear, but the RPMs are always about 5000. A lot of people struggle with what you are, so don't feel like you are doing something wrong. But try these 2 things. I really hope this was helpful
This is incredible. Thanks for the tips. LOVE Dirt Rally. It's crazy hard but super rewarding once you start to get the hand of it. Do you have a video, with the same concept, with 4WD? Thanks
Insane driving, and that with a controller. Let´s me hope that I will be capable to handle this game, too... one day. Of course, not without training, training, training :D :D Bought the game yesterday, and the first steps where... asskicking :D :D
What are your settings for assists? I dont know how to effectively break before turns in this game. I just started with some old Lancia, and it struggle to slow down and when i slow down, and get off the brake, my wheels are turning at max and car goes forward.
This is a good video with some great advice, however I'm surprised at how much you cut your steering; it's as if you're treating the steering "wheel" like an on/off switch (throttle too). Whatever gets ya to the finish! That Opel is the best RWD car in the game IMO too, but I love the two 4WD Lancias, especially the Delta S4 =)
Holding the throttle at around 75% is what I usually do in most cases here. This does mean that you aren't exiting the turn as fast as you could be, but this allows you to stay in control. On the tight Greece stages, keeping control and staying in your line is more important than all out speed.
Bestly driving dude. Do you have a wheel? I purchased my first wheel yesterday and handbrake turns are a nightmare. I was fairly decent with a controller, but now am like a beginner again 😂
never bought a wheel. between the cost of a rig and having a small apartment, it was something that wasn't going to happen. I guess in a way, this series was a type of protest; showing that this wasn't impossible
Depending on the surface you're gonna want to brake a bit early, and take the turn wide. Easy on the throttle on entry, and then if it's straight after the turn you can faltout.
+Aaron Faison Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. To be honest, I think there are already many great videos out there that talk about the basics of Rally racing and the game itself. I believe Codemasters actually put together an introductory series.
The best video about controller tutorial, but I dont understand fast eng speaking) I will try to gues something) and if get result, I will write here )
+DepcheR Channel We are so happy to hear such high praise about our content, and we hope this helps you. Sorry about the fast english, we will try to be a little clearer in the next video (which will feature how to tame Finland)
I always win on dirt. I have real problems on Ice and Tarmac though. Just not sure the best way to drive on them. Should I treat tarmac as I would for racing a circuit? Keeping the car under control and limiting drift. I'll have to try your controller settings. Mine are still default.
+Jaeger Bombs It depends greatly on what car you are using (FWD, RWD, AWD?) if you have a certain situation where you are really struggling, let us know about it. We are taking viewer requests
Im struggling real hard on hairpins and sharp turns. No idea when i need to use clutch in hairpins or when to use in any situation gues you used clutch in this video2 i need help everytime i have no power to come out corners or hairpins.Any suggestion4me?
Doug0101 on the hairpins in this videos, I keep that technique to a minimum. Doing it would lead to a little faster time, but that technique is extremely difficult to do with a controller. For this video, the idea was to help people who were really struggling.
+whosnick I have the ABS set to "3". Some people may knock me for having it on, but the cars are almost impossible to control without it while using the controller
Mousepad for the fearless
nice mousepad m8 ;)
earonie 。 lmaoooo
😂😂😂
My dude, I'mma need sauce one where to get a mouse pad like yours.
cog work thank u this helped me a lot I was a noob at this now I am a pro!
played this game. thought I was going to have fun, turns out it stressed me even more lol. the game's not for everyone
First game that's ever made me sweat. It's so intense.

Digging the mousepad homie

Still playing this? It’s still going strong. Literally an esport.

Great! thanks for the reply, I'll give those tips a try next time I'm in the game and see what I get.
I just tap the clutch, it gets me around when the car bogs down.
I know I am 3 years late but that's because you most likely had your traction assist set to max.
Your intro has the sound same as the steam message thing...I though I had a message, but then I realised I don't even have friends.
This is incredible. Thanks for the tips. LOVE Dirt Rally. It's crazy hard but super rewarding once you start to get the hand of it. Do you have a video, with the same concept, with 4WD? Thanks
Wow, you're so skilled

pls let me know if you use X box elite pad setting
Just subscribed. I'm struggling with the rs200 on snow stages. any tips?
which one is better, tap the throttle with 100% in every tap or hold the throttle (50%-75%) for countersteering when out from the hairpin?
Holding the throttle at around 75% is what I usually do in most cases here. This does mean that you aren't exiting the turn as fast as you could be, but this allows you to stay in control. On the tight Greece stages, keeping control and staying in your line is more important than all out speed.
the "single mousepad" :D nice vid

Cool video! You make look so fun :)
What's the best way to take sharp corners (90 degrees or more) in the mini cooper? I almost have to stop to not lose control of the car.
The best way is: almost stop :P
Depending on the surface you're gonna want to brake a bit early, and take the turn wide. Easy on the throttle on entry, and then if it's straight after the turn you can faltout.
Hey h r u. I just got dirt 2 for ps4 i need help with controler settings. Cant make one curve without crashing. Can u help me
Can anyone help ? I wanna know if Manual is better than automatic on regular Xbox controller well elite controller. And any tips would be appreciated
I need this, thank you so much
+Kingrooney We are happy to see that it helped. Thanks for watching. Is there something in particular that you would like to see next?
You have an interesting mouse pad 2:23 !
Are you playing manual without clutch? If not...is it possible in this game?
Manual with a clutch is possible
I'm new to the dirt series what would recommend for a rookie driver using a controller?
Xbox one setup I mean
+Aaron Faison Are you talking about in-game settings for the controller, or more "in general" tips and advice?
+CogWork pretty much everything bro I don't know to much about dirt rally
+Aaron Faison Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. To be honest, I think there are already many great videos out there that talk about the basics of Rally racing and the game itself. I believe Codemasters actually put together an introductory series.

CogWork thx) good luck)
You can go to settings on the video and slow it down, they will speak slower and the video will go slower but my help you understand the english.
Well hell now I'm more interested in seeing more of Yoko...... LoL
When I try hairpins I get a bit sideways then the steering turns all the way and I go off track 😐
K1NG M u keep throttling, let go of it
would this apply to the stratos

+CogWork Used your settings and just smoked a stage I had been struggling with first go. Thank!
+Jaeger Bombs Tarmac is easy, it's the snow and some gravel rallies that are tricky.
Do you downshift to 1st or 2nd gear for hairpins?
I wish the tutorials were not gone from Dirt Rally 2.0. Dort Rally 1 feels more complete.
Uau ótima condução, também jogo no controle, tenho alguns vídeos aqui no canal.
What kind of usb cable is that? Also, nice mousepad ;)
Im struggling real hard on hairpins and sharp turns. No idea when i need to use clutch in hairpins or when to use in any situation gues you used clutch in this video2 i need help everytime i have no power to come out corners or hairpins.Any suggestion4me?
