She speaks five languages fluently and can articulate her thoughts on her art brilliantly in which ever language she is speaking. That is remarkable enough. Add to this her incredible talent as a pianist and intelligence and talent don't even begin to describe her. I am in awe.
No doubt she is a brilliant and fantastic Pianist and artist of the time , her an extraordinarily quality is that she speaks five languages very fluently.
Your comment makes me think about the fact that we should considerate the music himself as another language, one that not only we can hear, read, express and feel. She can communicate across all those languages thank to her art.
It’s not often and I assume actually quite rare that you come across an artist so amazingly talented, so strikingly beautiful, so intelligent and someone who is able to come across in an interview as articulate as this incredible person. I’m completely blown away.
She's this articulate in what isn't even her native language, which makes it all the more incredible. I've also see her interviews in French and she's just as articulate and expressive there. Her brain power to master five languages and the piano at such a high level is intimidating. And her being so beautiful too is really unfair to the rest of us lol.
I discovered her through a mind blowing performance of 'Rhapsody in Blue' with l'Orchestre National de Lyon. Wow, what an amazing performer and articulate human being! I'm now a lifelong fan.
I discovered her exactly at the same mind blowing performance of my favourite classical piece called 'Rhapsody in Blue'. She is coming to Brazil (Sao Paulo) and I am very excited to see her in person!
It's so nice to hear how Khatia thinks ... and think she does. Her thinking is as beautiful as her music. She is a gift given by God. She is one smart woman.
The wild flowers bloom abundantly the moment Khati's fingers begin dancing on the keyboard, and its fragrance mesmerizes the listeners even after remnant of its sound.
It's a real privilege to have such a genius share her thoughts on where the music takes her. Brilliant young woman! Thank you for putting this online for us.
Khatia - amazing, yes! What I hear in so many of these comments, though, is men shocked by how a woman can be both beautiful and smart! She is great. Period!
I recently discovered Khatia via her performance of a Debussy piece and her passion, feeling, dynamics, tempo, and use of creative space simply gripped my heart and got me back to listening to classical piano music again. Listening to this interview, I can better understand where she is coming from as an artist, but also a human being who expresses her internal thoughts, feelings, insights, values, symbolic meanings, and interpretations through her musical selections, as well as her performances. Beautiful artist in every sense of the term.
Her "grasp" of the abstract, and her ability to describe it so beautifully is a testament to her gift of perspicacity and genius. A most amazing woman...
She has also expressed her opposition to Vladimir Putin and his oppressive regime, his war against Ukraine, and expressed her support for the women protesting in Iran. Articulate, and with her heart in the right place!
@@arthurleegis1333, I agree. Not performing in Russia has cost her much in potential earnings. Her protest is quiet but very strong. I love her integrity and compassion.
You are not only a pianist but also an artist who interprets music so well. Your marvellous performances are not only related to your skills but your understanding of music as well. A good music is an global language that reaches people's soul.
Looking behind the scenes and knowing a bit more about an artist’s approach really opens your eyes. Khatia Buniatishvili definitely goes her own way by interpreting composers very differently as compared to her competitors. I love it.
I just watched Khatia responding in French to a reporter. Now I see this video. I am amazed at her ability to respond in this interview with such articulation in English. I had no idea. I will enjoy her videos even more now knowing the depth of her attention to the music.
She is my all-time favorite pianist very savvy very expressive picking the appropriate words fine body language gestures. I think she herself is a work of art being so beautiful and her sweet smile none can match
Khatia is an artist which plays piano which gives comfort and peace to the spirit of the listeners . May Almighty God bless her with this marvelous talent more and more in abundance .❤❤
My favorite pianist. Khatia is simply technically perfect, and plays with such emotion and passion. What an amazing combination- beauty, singular talent, and brilliance.
What a wonderful artist. I'm so appreciative of how each keystroke has perfect intensity and perfect timing all in concert. I really like her music and her approach to life. Khatia's accolades are all well deserved. She doesn't have any rough edges.

International Association of Theatre Critics (Hong Kong) 31.03.2016 ..... One may say that it is important for musicians to have a unique musical style and personality, but is it even acceptable to interpret the pieces like what Buniatishvili did? Buniatishvili is intoxicated by being virtuosic and often forgets what is behind the music. One should have faith in his or her own interpretation, but he or she should also re-think whether he or she is doing justice to the music or not. In addition, technique is much more than playing the notes accurately and rapidly. Technique refers to the total mastery of the keyboard. Yet, at times Buniatishvili’s playing lost control, no matter use of pedal, or tone production. Virtuosity does not necessarily mean speed and volume. In order to become a mature artist with individuality, Buniatishvili has to reflect on her musical approach and attitude towards music making.
It is very interesting to hear that you in fact are very visual. Personally I noticed when I play or compose that I paint with music or sound, seeing pictures or videos in my mind when listening too. And I love your both emotional access to the music and deep understanding of it.
I have been a fan of Khatia's for several years, yet this is the first interview I've heard her speaking English, my native tongue. I have read comments after other interviews of people that were disappointed that it was not in English and they couldn't understand. My thoughts were that they would be more disappointed in an English version because of the limits of the language and the confusing exceptions that aren't accepted. I was pleasantly surprised and not disappointed at all, with this interview. I should have known that Khatia's command of the English language was better than most of my fellow natives. I think she was able to describe everything the way she felt it. Witnessing a performance of her's in the lecture hall would be just as hot of a ticket as one in the concert hall. Well, maybe.
okt. 2019 : well, vpro , a very good and loving interview of a great pianist and great human being Khatia. Well done. May the force of Heavenly Love always guide her.

De intervieuws met Khatia geven veel inzicht in de diepgaande manier waarop ze de muziek benadert. Door dit prima gesprek begrijp ik haar supporters beter, maar ook haar critici.
