This movie I have found out in the last few years has a place in my family’s history. The Grandpa I only knew as my grandpa cause the other one died when my mom was a kid. But the one I knew his dad owned the Rockford Peaches 🍑. It came up when the uncle that came with that side of the family was visiting and we were watching A League of Their Own. While watching my uncle and my dad started talking about going to those games. Then it was brought out that his grandpa owned that team. You have to understand that at the time was my family go to family movie. We thought because it was a baseball movie and took place close to all but my little sister were born. We had seen the movie at least 10 times and that was the first night we heard it was great grandpa owned and also help start the women’s league of baseball ⚾️ pretty cool night.
I love Geena Davis!!!!! I love this movie!!! Started playing softball n kindergarten I can remember this was always the movie we watched at the end of the season party!!!
Amazon prime has it. It doesn’t make any sense because it is based on a true story during world war 2 and African American women weren’t allowed to play during the time. So it wouldn’t make sense to add it to history of the all American girl baseball league.
One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE movies. I watch it over and over and over again! Can’t get enough of it. I’ve met Lori Petty at ComiCon in Kansas City. I tweeted asking if she would bring any pictures from “A League of Their Own” to sign and she tweeted back saying yes. It was awesome. Lori played Kit Keller.
Bill Pullman played Bob, husband of Geena Davis's character. She liked him and took him along with her from "The Accidental Tourist" He has done fairly well after that.
Ok.....let's see how many people you forgot.....David Straithairn....Garry Marshall.......the kid....and adult Stillwell.....Miss Cuthbert......Don S.Davis (Racine Belles manager).....Eddie Mekka....David L.Lander.....Bill Pullman.....Tea Leone....As George Michael once sang....If You're Gonna Do It.....Do It Right!!!!
KIT was like me and DOTTIE was like my sister. She was the pretty one and good at everything she did and I lived in her shadow. AND we both played softball. I was average and she was a good hitter. Is there anyone else out there like me ?
Haha, yep! Except my older sister did softball amd i actually played baseball on an all boy team. I was the only girl and got more home runs and rbi's than they did!
I like movies dealing with true stories and THERE IS NO CRYING IN BASEBALL l love that saying because it’s so true I don’t see baseball players cry in baseball and l love Penny Marshall too
Hang on... Where's Ellen Sue Gotlander? She played Shortstop and Pitcher. Played by Freddie Simpson. Plus Alice Gasper backup Catcher/Left Fielder .OWW Had major Strawberry bruise on her thigh. And killing Jimmy Duggan with her socks, played by Renee Coleman.
Love this cast and this movie. Lori Petty was great as Kitt and she was fantastic as Lolly in Orange is the New Black. Tank Girl is a movie worth a second watch.
I was 18 and working as an assistant mgr at a video store whejh this got released to video. We played this all dsay everyday. It never got boring though really good movie
"doesn't look like this anymore" The movie was 29 (26 in regards to this video) years ago! Of course they don't look like this any more. Awesome movie, though.
@@nancyomalley6441 You're right, I'm just noticing the title. That's in poor taste. Personally, I think they all still look fine. We age, happens to the best of us.
Geena Davis made so many phenomenal choices of characters to play. She should’ve had a career like Meryl Streep that just kept going, but she created the Geena Davis Institute which is incredible. And I forgot Anne Ramsey was in Dexter in a number of episodes. She was so great in that.
Even though I'm not a baseball fan (I'm not a hater either) and a guy, I still thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I'll have to re-watch it again sometime. It's only been about 30 years FFS.
@@mikeburlison5085 ... geez-us. I thought for years that was just damned good aging the make-up crew did. Talk about spitting image, practically. For Dottie and Kit, both. I'm guessing they must have done voice-over? Because it'd just be way too much coincidence for their voices to sound that much alike on top of it.
Not bad very interesting but let’s not forget.... Jon Lovitz was in The Wedding Singer it’s a popular fun comedy...more work with buddy Adam Sandler and Rosie O’Donnell was in a lesser known but (what I feel is an) underrated film, Exit to Eden ofc you have to be at ease with the content especially Rosie (& Dan Aykroyd) in a bondage outfit lol but it’s a good comedy with a great cast.
No offense, but what's with the "A League Of Their Own Cast Doesn't Look Like This Anymore" title?? Are they supposed to 27 years later?? Only in movies and old tv shows in which moments stay frozen in time. People "do" morph physically and mature the older they get. You get old because you didn't die.
I have this movie and l love it and Oh Yeah There’s No Crying In Baseball l don’t see men crying in baseball ⚾️ and Penny Marshall is a beautiful genius director and actress too
Who cares what they look like now!? Everyone ages, right? This is just the same old sh!t of dogging women for their looks. A League of Their Own was/is a great film and has been made into a great series (on Prime) that focuses on the complexities of creating a women's baseball league during the war and in a world of male dominated sports.
Genna Davis needs to play Gretchen "Half Wit Mer" who is the Governor of Michigan. That woman is insane. Apparently is it against the law to mow your lawn and fish if you own a boat with a motor. Jeez, it's recall time. BUT GEENA DAVIS kinda looks like her. That movie needs to be made. How an elected power hungry woman who wants to punish an entire state just she can? Yep, that has Hollywood written all over it. And if if fails, then they could call it Hillary 2.0.....
Correction, Bitty Schram didn't have a "recurring role" on Monk. She was the lead actress for 2 and a half seasons. When she and 2 other costars tried to renegotiate their contracts early, as the show was a biggish hit, she was released from her contract and a new actress was hired to replace her. Sad but true.
There is no crying in baseball!
Is Ben Kelly narrating this? If so, it's crazy that I still recognize his voice after not hearing him on the radio for 21 years.
Until u lose
Best line ever
All great actors!!! They did a fabulous job when a league of their own was filmed!

Theresa Koehler that is so cool
Cool story but I had a stroke trying to read this
I will always LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie!!!
Me too
I love Geena Davis!!!!! I love this movie!!! Started playing softball n kindergarten I can remember this was always the movie we watched at the end of the season party!!!
One, of my all time favorite
films, very patriotic all American film.
I love this movie . I sing that team song all the time, still! "We are the member of the All-American team/ We come from cites near and farrrrrr"

Surprised Tea Leoni didn’t get a mention
Kit the look in her eyes when she started swinging the bat right before she hit that last hit. 😀
Priceless!
This video is over 5years old, so amazing.

Whenever I get a chance to watch this movie on T.V. I watch it. It's good one to watch
Peter Hernandez Happens. Goodness. Bye. Great
Its funny my school bus driver was one of the women in that league and i never knew till she passed. Im 54. Lol
Which one was she?
Bill Pullman played Bob, husband of Geena Davis's character. She liked him and took him along with her from "The Accidental Tourist" He has done fairly well after that.
You forgot Tea Leoni
I was thinking the same!
Yes, where's Tea? And where's David Strathairn?
Ethan Weeter Jon Lovitz was hilarious even though he played such a minor role.

One of my favourite movies of all time! So heart warming and great casting! Very memorable.
Weird to exclude David Strathairn and Bill Pullman.

I had more of a crush on Kit when I was a kid! That’s a cute dynamic, hope you’re still close.
@@aogwaro we were always close until she was the first to get married, LOL But that's just a natural thing
The actor that plays Betty Sue played Alia the evil Leaper in Quantum Leap.
My gosh, Geena Davis will always be drop dead gorgeous....absolutely stunning!
Classic beauty :)
@@shoneywilliams4453 she looks pillow face now!!
Not only she's beautiful, she is also highly intelligent. She's a member of Mesa!
Joe Casson I meant Mensa. Accidentally spelled it incorrectly. thanks for the info.

Grew up with this movie. It is well beloved in my family

Thank you!
NOW AND FOREVER, The League will always be their own

José Arturo, I know the actress that played Ellen Sue Gotlander has two daughters and lives in Virginia
Did she do anymore movies she is so beautiful in this film. She should have been a mega star!!!
I'm in love with Dottie she is so perfect so dreamy god give me a girl like her

The good old days.
This was filmed in my home town. A classmate from my school is even in it. He was the second kid in the autograph scene.
"Dont get the clap."
- Jimmy Duggan

Madonna's Rebel Heart Tour extended her own record as Top Touring Solo Artist
Where can you get a copy of this photo.
Jon Lovitz has aged the best of all of these people.
RIP Penny Marshall
"doesn't look like this anymore"
The movie was 29 (26 in regards to this video) years ago! Of course they don't look like this any more.
Awesome movie, though.
Rob Reiner adopted Tracie Reiner when she was little. He raised her as he was married to Penny Marshall. Great guy! Great family!
You left out Tracy Nelson, Ricky Nelsons daughter.
WHY THE TERRIBLE TITLE?
Okay, so what are they supposed to look like after almost 30yrs of this movie being filmed??!!
Because some judgmental creep needs to judge to make him or herself feel better!
@@nancyomalley6441 You're right, I'm just noticing the title. That's in poor taste. Personally, I think they all still look fine. We age, happens to the best of us.

Tea Leoni was in the movie. you missed on that one.
""'If I had your job, I'd kill myself!"' Ya gotta love Jon!! 💘 😆 Funny as hell!!
Bitty deserves more recognition
Loved Bitty in League and in Monk! She has such a unique face and personality!
wait you're telling me these people don't look the same as they did around 30 years ago?
I absolutely love this movie !!This movie never gets old .
What about Stillwell Angel?
I love love love this movie so much
Very good movie but it's close to 30 years old did you really think after all that time they still looked like 20 to 30 yrs old people
Great review for a first class movie. Keep up the great work!!
Even though I'm not a baseball fan (I'm not a hater either) and a guy, I still thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I'll have to re-watch it again sometime. It's only been about 30 years FFS.
Duh! That was 32 years ago! Did you expect them to stay young forever!
Geena Davis is the only way I can sit through The Fly. She will always stay HOT in my book. Just beautiful. Mmmmmthcua!!!!!
Rosie playing the loud mouth was no stretch. She's that way in the real world. Only far worse than the movie.
john Magill I would hate it if she was the manager or on my team
john Magill Yes she is
Her voice alone is so dam ANNOYING
Rosie stole allot of those scenes in the film.
I don't like Rosie 's politics,
but she was wonderful in this film.
Gonna say it... if she had the hair, Geena Davis would look pretty damned close to the aging effects they did for the movie.
Elderly Dottie was played by Lynn Cartwright. Sadly, she passed in 2004.

The actress who played Helen Haley was also Nora Underwood in The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
And Jon Lovitz recently appeared in a little known show called The Simpsons.
He was freakin hilarious as the scout. 'Hey, milkmaids, we have a train to catch.' Lol
Course they look like they did when it came out bloody years ago
All those years watching Monk, never connected that she was the same girl in League of Their Own.

Can anybody else hear Woody in this scene?
No Freddie Simpson (Ellen Sue Gotlander)? Honestly, she was the most beautiful woman in Rockford Peaches team

Best scene in the movie.
Hmmm maybe it's called growing up!!! I'm not a expert but I believe that is what it's called :-)
What do you know about Robin Knight?
Hanks doesn’t want to do Philadelphia now. Shouldn’t he give up the oscar.
Did you really have to edit what he said from kill to hurt in the subtitles? Deaf people deserve the right to read what the person actually said.
