I literally tell people that is the best drum sound on an album ever and the most crisp sounding snare I've ever heard in my life
Amen!
So true,I never heard a snare drum, that is so perfectly balanced,it’s crispy, articulate, punchy, with precise amount of low end and compression. It’s been already 24 years since and still it sounds sick to me
Dude that snare is just insane
Literally one of the best drummers for that style of music.
And whoever mic'd his snare in the studio deserves an award
Absolutely spot on. Top notch engineering too man.
I like the way the kick sounds so round. No comment needed for the snare. You are good
Yes! That is such a heavenly drum sound. His drumming was the reason for me to pick up the drums.
Man...that snare is sweet! ❤❤
Some of the best drum sounds are from this era of rock music. Love it!
This is one of my fav drum sounds, you nailed it.
love it! Stan Bicknell got me hooked on this snare sound
Dude that sounds just soo perfect , especially the snare ! You're sir a true Limp Bizkit fan 😁😎 !
Haha
Thanks man,I’m trying my best;)
This is awesome
Nailed it!!! Awsome work
Súper awesomeeeee!!!!!
Please recreate from chocolate starfish, itll be ok or livin it up
that's incredible, good job
Привет из Самары!... Круто!!! Limp Bizkit ❤
I think you nailed it
Sounds incredible! Nice job dude!
Thanks!
Great job, sounds very similar and fucking good!
Accurate affff🤘🏼🤘🏼
I started playing in 2002 and I'm 31 now. I still cannot perfect this song and it drives me nuts
I’m 31 too,haha
@@icecoretower23 well only excuse I've got is to keep grinding! 🤘
Haha nailed it! Pearl free floating snare? Details please.
Literally a 1:1 on the sound.
I love that snare but I also love that kick. How did you tune the bass drum?
Thanks,man!
Everything is really simple, batter head is completely loose, just finger tight and reso head maybe 2-3 times tighter
@@icecoretower23 I see. I'll keep that in mind. I appreciate the reply man. Respect.
new sub
😍😍
snare?
Amazing bro, what snare is that ?
thanks,my man!
It’s Pearl Free Floater 14/5 maple
Damn how did you get the snare to sound like that? It sounds awesome
Thanks man!
It’s just ultra high tuning on both sides of the snare and of course mixing and stuff
Like 👍 for full cover.
Just wondering how to get around the camera wobble on kick drum?
Haha
Damn floor is not stable, that’s it:)
concrete floor is the solution
@@icecoretower23 I have a hunch the floor isn't the problem. I think you can get floating cameras, like the microphones when they are suspended in a little net?
Maybe a camera that sits on something soft.
@@bruvvamoff sounds reasonable, gotta try something like this!
Man what snare is it ? I want it. 😂
Pearl Free Floater 14/5 maple, but it doesn’t really matter that much tbh :)
Did you add your recording on top of the track or did you delete the drums?
On top
How’d you get the snare sound? I’m sure there’s mixing involved but I’m talking about from the raw percussion side.
well, nothing fancy,it’s just ultra tight tuning on both sides of the snare drum
Bottom head - until the key almost stops turning, top head - little looser, but still pretty tight.I kinda tried to tune top head to the ringing sound after John Otto’s rimshot, simply by ear.
@@icecoretower23 thanks man, that’s kind of what I figured. You did a fantastic job! I’ve always loved the sound of his snare on that album. Since you’re so good at this, I have a challenge for you.. replicate the sound of Abe’s snare on the song “needles and pins”.. are you down?
@@NarcoCrew thanks bro!
not shure if I can do it soon, but i will try definitely :)
@@icecoretower23 I’ll keep an eye out!
@@NarcoCrew haha,deal!
So whats the setup? Whats the name of the hardware
What exactly do you wanna know?
Whats the snare?@@icecoretower23
@@HeyLook287 Pearl Free Floater 14/5 Maple. But the sound itself isn’t about snare or materials or whatever,it’s more about style of playing, technique and mixing
@@icecoretower23 what would you recommend in terms of something to get the sound without those? Probably something metal or piccolo?
@@HeyLook287 it doesn’t really matter that much,it depends more on tunning, balance between top and bottom and spring tension, also you gotta be able to execute rimshots and play very dynamic,as you can hear, there is tones of ghost notes placed between every accented shot,so dynamics is the key.You can buy the same equipment as John Otto does, tune your snare drum exactly like him and at the same time sound nothing like him:))So I think, the way you play is more important what you play on😊
One more thing is die cast hoops,it makes your sound punchier and hella louder and really helps a lot to get that cut through everything you want to
