I just want to say a HUUGE thank you on the advice and tips in this video!! I've been new to the Dairy life and have been milking for 3 months now and today I ran across some flakes while straining my milk. I've always dreaded this day but I already knew this would come one day or another. You all have helped me out tremendously!
Shyanna, thank you so much for your comment! I am so happy you have a milk cow. It does take a bit of a learning curve but so worth it! I will be adding more videos about milk cows, they are my passion!
Hello Dawn! Thank you for watching! I usually have garlic growing in the summer and winter so I will cut off the leaves and cut them up with scissors then add to their feed. Also, minced garlic flakes will work as long as they aren't irradiated. I have been making a brine with Redmond salts and this seems to help. We give them about 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar a day most of the time when they are in milk. Hope this helps!
@@texasfarmsteadliving-caren9517 So, you feed the garlic greens then, not the actual garlic bulbs...very interesting. I pretty much buy all things organic to avoid the irradiation issue. I might see what is available in flakes. I do add the ACV to Buttercup's feed every morning...we milk OAD. How do you use your brine? As a top dressing to her feed?

When you say you give garlic...in what form do you give it? This was a very helpful video. I love your channel!!

Can I mix up a test bottle and use it in a week if I don’t use it all. I am getting only one milk cow. Thank you !
