Years ago watching your videos, you opened my mind to trying raw milk! Now, four kids later, and we're burning through 5 gallons of raw milk just for drinking ❤️ it is sooo delicious, and i was NEVER a milk drinker as a kid. Now i know why 😉
60 years ago, my grandpa milked 24 cows a day. Most went to the cheese factory (grade B milk), but a gallon came into the house every day. The best milk ever, along with the fresh chicken soup, and other "organic" vegetables and farm products that were daily consumables on a sustainable farm of the 60's
The perfect way to live!
I started with eggs and raw yogurt Kefir, after 20 years of veganism, because I started to feel many symptoms of vitamin and mineral deficiency..
That's the side the vegan community won't tell you about. I'm starting to hear more people get off that diet due to deficiencies.
Yes, same here. I even grew up vegan, because my dad had bought into the whole mad cow disease plandemic (which I just started to understand last year due to the recent plandemic was just another lie), which is why we as a family did not eat any animal products for about eight years. Of course I was smaller than my peers, pale-looking, skinny, always tired, did not fully develop (until I switched to raw vegetarianism just recently), and I also am pretty sure that this partly is responsible for my small jawbone - which apparently gave reason to remove 4 completely healthy teeth... but not just veganism is an attempt to have us kill ourselves. So is practically the whole big company 'food supply' system. Among many other lies and poison they try to feed us in order to keep us small and weak.
We need to grow locally and organic in permaculture, eat whole foods and as much as possible raw. I am not sure if we need to eat meat, though. The Wodaabe are a tribe of nomadic farmers that live drinking the raw milk of their animals, but they only butcher them for celebrational purposes and rather rarely. So I now eat all raw, mostly lots of greens, plus eggs and milk and butter included, but no meats of any kind. Do any of you have any experience with that? All the best to everyone, love and blessings - may we all be free.
@@sashashaktiable You may want to incorporate small amounts of red meat and/or buffalo. The plains Indians, Eskimos, Maasai, and Aborigine all have a meat-based diet and are/were healthy and strong. Meat is not the enemy, but it's what they want us to believe. God bless.
Plant based diet but I’ll definitely eat meat, eggs, and milk sometimes.
I can't believe anyone can survive veganism for that long.
Growing up we had 3 milk cows. Being the youngest out of 7 , I learned how to milk by the time I was 7. Fresh butter, cheese , and all the good stuff!!!
Perhaps, if you know, you can shed some light on my question posted here about heavy cream smelling bad.
All that stuff that caused me to have a very sick childhood. Except the butter. Humans should be weaned by age 5.
@Conor
Yes. It's far more common than most people think.
Most cultures become milk intolerant by age 5.
I was born milk intolerant.
Almost all seniors are milk intolerant.
@@herbbowler2461 Absolutely not. Look at all the European countries they are big consumers of dairy . They are fine. I grew on and still have raw milk. The problem is some countries don't have much access to milk and that is what makes them intolerant.
@@herbbowler2461 We actually evolved to be able to digest lactose past babyhood. This ability developed incredibly quickly in evolutionary terms. Milk from the animals we kept was a portable source of reliable nutrition and hydration which could even be taken across deserts. Cows, sheep, goats, mares, camels, buffalo have all been kept by humans for thousands of years for their meat and milk. There's archaeological evidence of bronze age people weaning their children onto animal milk. So we are in fact designed to have animal milk as part of our diet throughout our life, just not the dead stuff sold at the supermarket.
The cleanliness of the milk depends first and foremost on the cleanliness of the cow's udder and the cleanliness of the milker. If someone is buying milk straight from a farm it is good to know the milk handling procedures of the farmer.
Clean with raw apple cider vinegar, not bleach based chemicals. Those chemicals can cause mutants in staph bacteria.
As with all food and food processing..
The very best presentation on milk care, use, and storage I have seen. Thank you so much !
Glad it was helpful!
My parents and grandparents all drank clabber milk! I think it is very healthy for you! There is a lot of misinformation about milk and milk products!
I usually use the milk I haven't finished before getting a new bottle. I add raw honey to it and love when the pock marks form to tell me it gelatinized.
The missinformation about milk. Is when they say it's healthy.
Raw cow milk is healthy for a calf. (ONLY)
@@herbbowler2461 RAw cow milk is healthy for my wallet. Haven't seen a dentist since I started in 2003(except to remove mercury amalgams). I use it in baths, medicinal preps, & other raw unheated foods.
@@chriskazaam896
Good for you.
Keep it up.
Milk cripples and kills an enormous number of people.
And there are no health benefits that a healthy diet doesn't deal with. And better.
@@herbbowler2461 Will do. Last july I was sucker punched by an invader on the streets. My raw-milk hardened cheek bones withstood the blow and I took his 20-ish year old butt down, even as the middle-aged wimp that I am. Crippling indeed.
I get 2 litres of raw milk every week from a dairy on a subscription basis, in fact they just dropped this weeks batch like 5 minutes ago. This milk is liquid gold. I love it and I feel it is good for me. The taste is amazing
In Poland and eastern Europe drinking clabbered milk is a normal thing. Its delicious and refreshing to drink in summer with fresh baby potatoes as a meal, or just blended with seasonal fruits. Sometimes it works with pasteurized milk, but you can taste a difference with real raw milk. The only thing is, some people make take time to get used to it, because the gut can get, errr overwhelmed with the amount of bacteria, if you know what I mean... So it might be good idea to start with small portions.
clabbered as in spoiled?
🙏God bless you and your family
@@tiffanyherrman3534 Cultured, not spoiled.
Kefir is supposed to help w/digestion.
I bought into a herd share and love the yogurt I’m getting. Because the cows are grass fed only, I don’t have intolerance issues. I had been diagnosed as lactose intolerant and well as gluten, but consuming milk when the cows aren’t fed any grain and thereby no gleaned, no issues! The ice cream from the cream is delicious. So is the banana pudding.
Hi Christina, My grandmother was a Brashear. Right now I cannot tolerate dairy at all, and am looking forward to easing into raw milk products. Thanks for the great comment, it's encouraging.
i am in south carolina i once boughtraw milk from 17 carrot it was smelling and bitter searched for raw milk from farm dint find any how to get milk raw
It may not be some grain in milk but a A2 milk type
@@rockfarmer8095 probably a bit of both. I’m gluten sensitive. But these days, I’m thinking it’s more all the poisons added than the gluten. I’m breaking my own bread from organic flour I bill from whole wheat berries and am not having issues, yet. Fingers crossed. Still enjoying the raw milk and branched out into learning to make cheese as well as the yogurt.
Yes just find a farmer you can trust and will tell you what they feed there cattle. I do feed some grain to mine very little tho but it is a great source to add a little energy depending on the quality of hay they eat during the winter. Just don’t like the idea that all grain is bad! Lol my cattle have a2 gene milk and people that have a hard time with milk, a2 seems to work good with them. Glad you can enjoy milk products either way with out being sick!
Great video! My husband and I want to get some land and start a homestead as soon as possible. The content and knowledge that you put out is there invaluable information to living a self sufficient life.
I make kefir with raw milk with kefir grains for years, it's so delicious. Grew up on a farm, big family and milked 85 to 90 cows twice per day. We drank fresh raw milk daily, now I buy from a farmer with grass fed jerseys.
When I was a kid 50 years ago, mom just strained it through a flour sack dish towel and put it in the fridge.
We get raw milk from a local small dairy. I have always wanted to do "more" with it! Thanks for the info
The raw milk I get doesn't have the thick heavy cream on top...does yours? I'm wondering if the farmer skims the cream off before selling it 🤔
@@ahmoseh3718 Some do oddly enough, mine doesn’t sell anything dairy wise except for the raw milk, so they keep the cream in the milk itsself.
Thank you! We just got a beautiful Jersey last Sunday and are getting so much milk!
A-2? Use some raw milk, salt & raw apple cider vinegar in a 105F hot bath to cleanse the body.
Thanks so much. Trying to talk my husband into getting a cow next spring. We are getting chickens and ducks this year.
Lucky. Hard work coming your way.
@@chriskazaam896 hard but rewarding for sure.
I remember growing up near a farmer that sold fresh cows milk and they sold their own butter also. I made some butter last year and was wondering how to get that old timey cows butter taste instead of the sweet taste? Growing up we had big gardens and raised hogs from time to time but never had a milk cow. Thanks for all your ℹ information, God bless you and your family
This is the most informative video on raw milk I have ever seen! Thank you
Thank you for this hand-holding lesson! There is absolutely so much to learn!
I need more videos like this. I would love to see more videos of the dairy and cow and your routine with it. We have a jersey and Dexter and I'm looking for more ideas. Thank you.
I buy 2 gal a week from Amish in the area. Been really wonderful having fresh milk, not had since I was a kid some 40 years ago!!!
My cow recently freshened and I am enjoying all the wonderful dairy delights again! She is Guernsey, eight years and this is her fifth calf. There is nothing like a family milk cow. She is the star of the farm. They give so much! Thanks Carolyn for the video. They are always a delight to watch. I would LOVE if you shared a mozzarella recipe. Do you add mild Lipase? I did in my last batch and it made it wonderful! Sometimes mozzarella can be bland but the Lipase added just enough flavor for it to rival any store bought brand😄
Long live raw milk ranchers. Lock and load, just look at what they're doin to Amos Miller.
I was lactose intolerant since childhood, then I came across a video on this app and it was was all about how raw milk can solve your lactose intolerance and I am glad I can enjoy milk again without going through a horrible experience 😅
Wonderful!
Excellent video! I love how your family shifted to a home based diet. And you male eaay to understand, enjoyable videos. Thank you for your work!

Looks like a lovely Home in prairie.
When I was a child my mother told me that she had an uncle (great uncle? anyway...) who would put a glass of milk near the warm woodstove to help it clabber, then crumble cornbread into it and eat it as a treat. My father did something similar with buttermilk and cornbread. (both my parents grew up with a family dairy cow out back) I haven't run across very many other people familiar with the practice; interesting to see it here. Great video, very informative. I'd love to have a small Jersey one day (my mother's favorite breed, and she was usually right) but when I was a kid we had beef cows; I have a lot to learn about dairy. Thanks! Very helpful!
We never had raw milk when I was a child, but I do remember my mother always crumbling her cornbread and putting it in her milk. She was from the Ozark area of Missouri. I'm 54.
Thank you, thank you! Excellent! We have a local(ish) farm, about a 45 minute drive from our house, from where we can purchase grass fed, Jersey cow, raw milk! So far all I did to get cream was either shake all of the top milk into the bottom milk or just poured off the top altogether for my coffee! 🤗 Thanks to you I will change things up 😊 I still can’t believe WE ARE SOOOO FORTUNATE to be able to get the benefits of raw milk! If I have the chance to sing the praises of raw milk 😃I always do! Maybe your other videos explain about the super incredible benefits raw milk has for the function of our bodies. Lactose intolerant people are often tolerant of raw milk, I am speaking from experience with my husband and one of our children! P.S. Nice cow!

Dairy is like ocean dere is always something nice to learn like clabbered milk often wondered Rawmilk has arsenal of pathogens killing nutrients how kud it goes bad if cleanliness is not compromised but thanx for clearing dat doubt Rawmilk never goes putrid but tidy is key
Heating the milk beyond 142.7F makes the milk more gunky/congestive in ones body, even if cultured after the heating. That congestiveness lowers vitality. Keep the milk raw, culture at ambient room temp. Cultures beautifully,… more satisfying than fresh milk. And it's only mildly tangy and beautifully well rounded in character.
I just bought a herd share (only way we can buy raw milk in Michigan). I'm so excited to try raw milk.
I'm anxiously awaiting the day you write a from start to finish, everything about raw milk production to finished product book. I'd snap that up in a heartbeat! Unless, of course, you already know of an all inclusive book like that??
While we are waiting for 🙂Homesteading Family’s book, here is a book you may enjoy : ‘The Untold Story of Milk’ by Ron Schmid, N.D. , Foreword by Sally Fallon.
I haven’t worked through all of it, but I do love “The Art of Natural Cheesemaking” by David Asher. However, I would snap up a video course or book by the Homesteading Family as well! I really love their teaching style and find it so practical.
Thank you Ladies!!
My grandmothers would use separator machine to separate cream from the milk and further use it for butter or just eat cream by itself .. so good
I've just started buying raw milk. I have to be honest, it scares me to leave milk out. That said I'm going to try it. 😲
I get my raw milk delivered from a farm. It can last over two weeks in the fridge with no change to taste or texture. Store bought pasteurized milk doesn’t last 3 days. Raw tastes better, no contest, and it is so nutritious i basically live off it. 1litre raw milk, 6 raw eggs and a teaspoon of raw honey blended, I can go weeks without eating solid food.

We have 2 dairy goats. They have never kidded, but they had precocious udders. We get about 2 and 1/2 cups of milk a day, but that's plenty for us because we weren't used to using a lot. I do make kefir, kefir cheese, and farm cheese (by using lemon or vinegar to cause the milk to separate than straining, no cultures) but I've never tried clabbered milk.
So how does that work, did the milk start flowing on it's own?
@@danielnaberhaus5337 they come from a high production milk line and they had what's called a precocious udder. One was producing a lot more milk than the other one. They are twins.
With a precocious utter they start begging up even though they have not had kids. At first it's salty and it takes a couple weeks for it to be drinkable.
I was just curious if the milk was high quality and negated the necessity of breeding the female to get milk.

Love that raw milk. I'm 74 and been enjoying raw milk since 2013. The word "raw",I think is a little intimidating for some people. They could call it whole milk but that name has been in use for quite some time. But they could just change it to '"not" milk to be more accurate. Because raw milk is really whole milk. Another question, when freezing the milk and then thawing it out, the fat gets really clumpy (kinda gross in your cereal). I started blending the milk and that takes care of the fat clumps, makes the milk run perfectly smooth. But again, I wonder if doing that hurts with the preservation of the integrity of the milk.
I have made Raw Goat/cow milk Kefir: would it be excellent instead of baby formulas?
For the 1st time, my raw milk (from a local farm) became sour in 5 days. One smells really terrible, the other just quite sour. I've been looking for uses for the soured milk other than bread. I think I may freeze the sour one and toss the one that reeks. Very odd since the milk usually doesn't get a tinge of sourness smell so quickly. Is it too late to try to clabber the one that is sour?
Clabber it by adding raw honey. Does it taste like vomit/bile? I don't get that issue much anymore. Just drink it with raw eggs, raw butter & raw honey. It's better than "fresh" milk and you can drink it cold without digestion problems. Never freeze milk unless you're making a raw ice cream I guess. If it's that sour, when you claber it you'll definitely get a whey of over 50%. I love whey with raw butter/raw honey. TAstes like lemonade. Then eat the solidified clabber with it and it's like french puff pastry. God intended milk to be drunk raw.

If we had a gallon of non-homogenized pasturized milk and added a cup of raw milk...then let it sit in the fridge for a few days, would the good bacteria re-populate the pasturized milk? Being in Canada raw milk is illegal but the odd time we can get some from a farmer or the USA...however, it is $30-$40/gallon. It is way too expensive. But if we could re-populate the pasturized milk of a grass fed cow, it would be easier and cheaper. Wondering, if you know whether this would work. Thank you
Nice vid! Thanks! So soured milk is not the same as butter milk (karnemelk in Dutch)? We bought fresh jersey milk from our neighbours and after 3-4 day’s refrigerated it had already soured, but not putrefied. Does this mean the milk they’re selling us could actually be more than a week old when it reaches us?
Do you know how to use raw milk to make pumpkin pies? Do you have to simmer it to condense it first?
