Thanks to Dan DiGregorio for the Patreon request! This took me a good bit to tackle, but I'm happy with the result. The crazy measure at 2:03 took me two hours to figure out.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving in the US. Nicole and I are in Panama after the loss of her grandmother Ines. I'd like to dedicate this to her. She was a kind, sweet, and beautiful woman who we will miss dearly.

I didn't think this would sound so full on one guitar, but you happily proved me VERY wrong. Thank you.
It's definitely two different guitar tracks.
@@CyberBullyOfficialon the official soundtrack, yea.
I can easily imagine somebody playing this on Besaid Island on a sunny Summer evening.
Oh the memories. FFX music stirs up so much nostalgia. And this is amazing!
How on earth have you made it sound this good with one guitar?! It borders on unacceptable. I am FURIOUS
This is excellent! Also love the “Moonflow” in the background.
Holy crap... the control over all the voices, the contrasting levels of legato... You are a mad man, John.
I’m sorry to hear about Nicole’s grandmother. This is a beautiful dedication to her
Oh man that was lovely. Hope you're not sick of making great covers!
Many thanks! Luckily, it is my passion so you don't have to worry about that. 🤙
you should have a few million subscribers with the quality of playing, sound and video, but its all good, in time
Formidable work on this one!
I love this piece so much, your performance is amazing as usual!! 😭👏👏
My man really feeling the Yuna theme in this one. Good job
Oh wow, those off rhythms, how do you do it? 👏 So much nostalgia from this 💙
この曲大好きだから嬉しい!
心が落ち着きますよね。
素晴らしい演奏でした。
私のお気に入りの曲の一つです。ご聴取ありがとうございました。
Yaaass!! This is amazing!
So amazing.
Perfect!
Amazing!!!
Beautiful 💯
-Sweet childhood memories unlocked 🥲
Perfection!
Such a joy to watch this
Awesome
I'm obsessed with this video
This is amazing!!!
Excellent!
Love it soo much❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful like always John. Thank you.
Jesus well that outdid all previous attempts
This is awesome. Thank you.
I’ve come back and listened to this many times
amazing rendition!
That was so good! Great arrangement
That's amazing.......
Overdue for this!!
This is one of my favorite songs of all time! Thank you so much for creating a new cover of it!
I took a half hour loop of this when i trekked through the north maine woods, with mount katahdin always somewhere in the background. This shot right here reminds me of one of the trails that leads to a lake with katahdin in the background, just like this. Now this song always reminds me of that
Ive been looking for a cover of this for a while, and needless to say you blew all expectations out of the water! Excellent rendition!
That's awesome! Glad you enjoyed it 😀
This is very beautifully played John
Woah... that was amazing....
Great work! I love this tune 😊
so beautiful
Just stunning., John!
WOW that was great 🙂
DUDE THIS IS SO COOL :D ♥
Really brilliant arrangement, sounds excellent!
Beautifully played, John. Much love for your grandmother-in-law Ines.
I'm impressed you were able to pull off that measure at 2:03! (...I certainly didn't bother to...)
Thanks Scott! I'm curious what the compositional inspiration was for that measure. It's almost like an intentional trainwreck that works somehow.
@@JohnOethGuitar An intentional trainwreck that works somehow is a great way to describe it.
Might have been just a soundbite captured when the guitarists flubbed that part of a take and made those sounds in a bit of frustration, and it sounded neat, so was kept? Probably not, but it also sounds strange for it to have been planned.
That’s gourmet for the ears!!!!!!!!
Excellent Cover John ! I enjoyed it very much
まじで最高!!大好き
Impresionante! Genio!
so nice
Beautifully played, John. This has always been one of my favorite FFX tracks! ❤
Man your rendition is absolutely beautiful.
Dude this is really good
The exact feel which suits the song!
This is one of my favorite tracks from FFX. I was so excited to see that you covered it!
Awesome!!
this is really really good dude. extremely impressive cover
This is the perfect song to play on a classical guitar! Thanks for the peaceful moment
Dude - I asked you to do this a long time ago, and oh my god I'm so happy you did. This is amazing! I've only seen it take two guitarists to what you did solo on this piece. So very nice!!! Freakin amazing!
Right! Off to Pateron I go! This is hands down the best arrangement of this piece I've come across. Not sure about the ending, though...
癒され過ぎて泣きました!😭👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻演奏ありがとうございます!
ANOTHER JOHN OETH GUITAR BANGER 💃🕺🔥
FFⅩの曲を弾いていただき、ありがとうございます。ゲームの思い出が蘇ります。
Thank you!
Recently have been learning it on piano; such a great song. I feel like it encapsulates Tidus's "vibe" pretty well.
Your Endwalker collection has been a blessing during my studies; thank you for sharing your beautiful passion!
Thanks for listening! I think I'll eventually do Tidus' Theme too. 🤙
@@JohnOethGuitar Please!
Finally! Me and a friend tried making a duo arrangement of this song a little while back, but I've been waiting for you to release yours ever since, absolutely in love with your arrangements! I'm currently juggling learning multiple of the sheets you've put out on patreon cus they're too much fun to play😋 Currently my favs are Sharlayan night theme, lazy afternoons and this one❤️ Thank you!
Oh this song! I love this one. I'd hang out in Besaid and most listen to this for a while. 😁
I love this song! It sounds so simple in its melody, but it's actually more complex to play than it sounds, especially with only one guitar. I really love that little twist near the end of the song. It always tickles my brain. :P
Wow! That is some amazing playing! I don't play the guitar (I play piano) but i can imagine this piece is difficult. And you play it fantastic!
いつ聞いても素敵なギターの音色!
幸せな時間を過ごすことができました🤗
Straight vibes
@2:03 This is the toughest part of the entire piece, and you really did it justice here. I enjoyed this. Great cover!
Very impressive work. Inspiring to grab my guitar and try some tunes as well
Possibly my favorite song in FFX, and probably the most suited to accoustic. Love the performance! :D
This is such an incredible piece of art. The song and the performance. I can't believe how great this was as a single guitar. Would love to see more ffx ost stuff.
Thanks so much! I have Yuna's Decision in the works.
Dude, you just keep getting better. This is probably the most complex song I've heard from a single guitar. Rock on, man.
Every song I'm impressed beyond words. I try hard to learn FF songs too but I can't pull off a tenth of such a performance.
my favourite guitar piece in all of final fantasy. amazing as always john!
Many thanks!
I'm late to the party, but I love the change of pace at 1:00, it goes from upbeat to gentleness, and especially on that part of the song. ❤❤
You fucking killed it
Absolutely perfect! I'm just now learning classical after years of playing electric. Learning your "Calm Before the Storm" and it's been a blast. Bravo!
Right on! The FFX OST is so eclectic and nostalgic. I still have a great many tracks I'd like to do from it.
@@JohnOethGuitar Totally nostalgic, and peak Uematsu! Calm before the storm, via purifico, this is your story, servants of the mountain... so many great tracks. Your version of CBtS is just outstanding, and the first time I've played with a capo. The right hand has been a struggle going from only ever picking to finger style, but it's starting to click. Thanks a ton for putting out these videos and the tabs on your Patreon!
Awesome 🔥 Hope I can play it too one day 😃
Wow. Exceptional playing. I love this song and it's even better watching it being played. Well done sir.
Thanks a ton!!
Rite of passage for guitarist FF fans, hehe. Beautifully done!!!!
holy cow, this is amazing! especially since I know that this was originally played by two guitarist.
Oh gods, that game... Thank you for the feels ^^
Of course! I remember my brother buying the game years before we had a PS2. I would just read the manual dreaming of actually playing it. lol The first time I played it though was on my first laptop with an emulator running at about 20 fps. And it was glorious.
Great cover :). It definitely gives some melancholic vibes like the original song, I like it.
Appreciate it!
Dude are you kidding me? This was S+ tier. I’m speechless. I am gonna play this video in the car sometimes when I think of this song. I hope to be as good at guitar as you one day. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Appreciate that! 🙏🙏
11/10
back in my days this was played on two guitars 😂 would so much love to pull this arrangement off by myself. sadly way over my abilities. still, one of my alltime favorit guitar songs ❤
My absolute favorite tune from my favorite game! Now a FFX album!
👏
Bro I look like you get ma face off 😂beautiful btw
Maaaan this has always been one of my top favorites from FFX. So great to hear it rendered by you.
How long did it take you to figure out that chaotic staccato lick at 2:03??
Around two hours playing at 15% speed. Lol there were many swears spoken
Hey! I love your arrangements, could i ask if your Twitch's Schedule is up to date?
Hey! It isn't. I've cut back on streaming for a bit to focus on projects and some things that have been on my to-do list for ages. I'm going to do an album release stream on December 9 that I'll schedule on RUclips. 🤙
I wanna be a blitzball!
Literally my alarm clock
is that the moonflow?
HOME SWET HOME DE FINAL FANTASY XV DLC PROMTO!! MIRA!!
Nobuo Uematsu wrote this right? What a good harmony and melody, my lord
He definitely wrote the theme, but Masashi Hamauzu may have arranged it. I'm not too sure. I just put Uematsu because that's what the official licensing says.
Someday i will be a blitzball!
