Thankfully I found my 640d all standard. Was looking for ages. Everyone I looked at had the rear windows tinted and the alloys finished in black. I wanted one that looked mint so it took me a while to find one OEM but eventually I did. I think trying to pimp up one of these is wrong. And I’ve spoke to people that have struggled to find one as stock. Enjoy your ride mate! Spec you get on these is top notch! 👍🏻🚗💨

Absolutely beautiful!!! One of the most beautiful if not the beautiful car BMW did in the last decade. New 8 series is great but I like more the 6 and Gran Coupe is adorable too. I have 5 series f10 M pack but 640d if far better, reliable, fast and DIESEL!!!!!then anyone.

Good choice Bobby , great spec ! …. Had mine for 2 years now , Zero complaints … car is a torque monster out the box but adding tune takes to new level ( walnut blast manifold ports first though to gain maximum) ….. only pointers are pan roof outer gaiter will dry out and split if not kept clean and vacuum line routing to turbo solenoids have tight bends , will start to crack with heat soak after time …. Change as preventative and you’ve got a bullet proof beast …. Enjoy ☺️

I haven’t tuned it yet because it’s quick enough but may think about a remap soon 🤔 you’re right though, I had a problem with the vacuums lines already, was losing power. Took it to a garage and had the lines replaced and it’s likes a rocket now! Had them check the car all over and they said it’s a great example. Swap the wheels for 18" without runflats and the car is transformed. Noise levels drop dramatically and the ride improves out of all recognition. Just done a 1700mile round trip to the south of France in mine and averaged 43.6mpg at continuous 130kph
Hey Peter, I could imagine putting smaller alloys would help with sound and comfort for sure! However I personally think the 20” alloys look lovely though and it’s still comfortable. Great mileage on yours, I get around 37-38mpg!

Are the rear windows factory tinted or did the previous owner tinted them darker? Are you thinking of doing any other mods?
Getting one in 3-4 months this is exactly what I want it to look like the bang and olufsen sound system seems to be quite rare so if one comes up before with it I’ll get it…it’s one of the main features I want I hate budget sounding stereo systems
Hi Danny, yep still have it and still going strong. General maintenance which is expected like servicing, brakes etc. coolant pipe cracked recently which cost me about £600 to replace. Other than that, it’s a reliable, great car! May have to sell it soon because of the Ulez expansion. Interested? lol. I’m still probably gonna buy another 640d but a new model, so it’s ulez compliant. Just goes to show, that it’s a good car if I’m going to buy another one. Good luck 👍🏼

I chose the diesel cause I do a lot of motorway miles, plus you get that low end grunt cause it has so much torque. 0-60s is the same pretty much between diesel and petrol too! Thanks for watching 😊

I am after a bit of help & direction please, I have black grills and want to replace the current chrome fenders with black but cant seem to locate these on line...any help please codes, suppliers etc...Thank you..

The MOT advisories in 2020 would have out most off this particular car. As ever, it’s about understanding advisories etc and the inspector who did it sounds, er very particular. Great car. I have a GC 640d with a very high specification, but haven’t got the B&O! My last car had the HK/Professional sound system so that was a must have with its replacement. Mine has VDC variable damper control which is rare, plus the 1 inch opening ‘sunroof’ like yours. Hope it serves you well and you enjoy it.

I was the same mate! But as I had the 3 series E92 just before this, I wanted a bigger car and decided to go with the 640d and haven’t regretted it! I’m not the biggest fan of the 4 series 🙁

Insurance will be dependent on your age but road tax is about £170 for the year which is decent. Fuel is good too - getting 37mpg!
