She repainted things the same color so it looks cleaner, she didn't do a ton that she'll have to fix. I think this is brilliant, makes things feel newer when they're touched up!
Absolutely beautiful. I was once a renter and knew and still know how to change things back. However, my previous landlords always asked me not to remove my upgrades when I moved out. ❤😂
I've seen some apartments post the upgraded version on their websites, but you get the plain version. They charge more for stainless steel appliances and nice countertops. I wonder if thats why they asked you not to change your upgrades back. 😳
It turned out very nice - great job. For those asking about renter friendly, you can repaint walls white and where she drilled, those holes can be caulked.
The people saying “This isn’t rental friendly” probably aren’t the most creative or handy people and that’s fine. People need to understand that “Renter Friendly” means different things on different properties. My townhouse was built in the 1960s, so rent is cheap but the house is a little raggedy. In order to make it feel like home I needed to fix it up. I have painted cabinets and walls, drilled holes, put up wall paper, used contact paper, hung curtains, hung things off the ceiling, fixed the grout in my bathroom, put cordless lighting in my cabinets, etc. My landlords have been in my townhouse multiple times to check fire alarms, etc. and they’ve never complained, in fact they complimented my home. They just told me I have to get it back to its original state (which wasnt good😅) or they’d charge me a fee when I move out. I’m crafty and handy so I can. Meanwhile my mom lives in a nice apartment complex. She couldn’t get away with as much as I can. For example, my kitchen cabinets were painted white, I painted over that, all I have to do is paint them back. My mother has cabinets with wood grain laminate over them. She can’t paint over those because she would never be able to get them back to their original form. When I was a kid I lived in an extended stay hotel for a little while, you couldn’t even tape a drawing to the walls. It just depends on your specific situation and the expectations of your property management.
Amazing job. All things I wanted to do to my apt. but was too chicken to do. You rocked it. I especially like the ensemble with the mirror and shelf. Brilliant!!❤❤
GURLL! You need to talk to your landlord about making these changes permanent. One of the biggest fears of landlords is that the tenants will destroy the home with “upgrades”. Show them what you have done and ask if you can make them more permanent. GREAT JOB!
You have major skills. My prayer for you is to stop paying rent and get a mortgage. Rents not cheap and the cost your spending may nearly match what your mortgage payment will be.
Great job! What do you think about bringing that wood panel all the way to the corner of the wall? The mirror can be center with the staircase🤷🏽♀️ just a thought
Can you tell us more about the trim? I love it. I think might be able to do it but how did you get such sharp 90° corners? How did you decide on the size? Thank you😊
I rent a very beautiful apartment and we can only use small nails or push pins to hang stuff. I have beautiful mirrors I want to hang and pics of my dog who recently passed😞❤. And nothing sticky can be put on the walls either. Ughhh if anyone would know what to do it would be you. You’re so talented. Any advice would help. Tysm❤
The only thing I'd be worried about is the land lords wanting more money for the improvements you did. It is a modest but elegant and really warms the entryway.

Thank goodness I stumbled upon this video. This is the 1st video I’ve seen with an upstairs entryway like mine.
❤❤❤❤❤Beautiful and Clean 😊😊😊😊😊

White crayon is even easier than caulking!
I've never heard of this! Must try@@Center4Possibilities
@@SimplyHandmadewhere did you get the wood like material behind the mirror? Want to do my son’s dorm room but don’t want to cut down.
@@latricerichardson1791Home Depot carries and also I saw on Amazon!
Nice! 👌🏽
The changes make it a welcoming home. Nicely done!
Mate, painting and drilling holes? Definitely not rental friendly here where I live 😂
You have to repaint and patch the holes. Extra work when you move out, but it is possible. I’ve done it myself
Painting the door black and the stairs?! They’d flip 😂 glad some people allow it though!
Yeah I have regular apartment inspections. They’d go mad if they saw any paint on the walls 😂
😂
I was about to say, not rental friendly at all
You are one amazing woman!! God Bless!!
Better than average! It looks great and it’s realistic for most of us!❤
I like the black door. I would have done a glossy black with a brass kick plate at the bottom. Great job.
