I would hate that as a land lord because it is not quality and does not increase value. Removal of it can still damage the drywall even painters tape when left on for extended periods of time ruin the paint. It even says on the roll of tape to not leave the tape stay on a surface for longer than a couple of day because it can damage the surface.
@@Sunny-it6or clearly you make a lot of assumptions the quality of that bathroom looked to be pretty good starting out. Frogtape and all masking tapes have a limited amount of time they can be left on walls specified by the manufacture. Why? Because after about 30 days max that tape will bond so strong when you go to peel it you will also be peeling the paint and likely the drywall paper itself in some spots, if you were a decent clean person there's no need to repaint the bathroom between tenants. But now that she wrecked the walls it will need drywall repaired and primed and painted. I hope she doesn't get her deposit back
This is one of the best renter friendly bathroom makeovers Ive ever seen. It was simple, looks quick to do, and impactful in my opinion. Best of all looks like itll be super easy to remove everything
I’m obsessed. That seahorse pull would have actually matched your finished look! I thought he was cute! 😂😂 incredible job per usual. That drawer’s around the pipes is 🤌. I love everything. I’d be surprised if the landlord makes you take it down when you leave!!! ❤❤❤❤
When I saw the BEFORE I was like “hmm it’s not ugly ugly tho” but now that I’ve seen the AFTER I get it. This is so pretty I’d be embarrassed to pull my pants down.
Everything I’ve ever heard about dark colors in small spaces had me frozen the minute you did a close up of the paint jar. Then the before/after photos just blew those comments out of the water! Besides the room being nothing short of elegant (and the landlord would be a fool if he didn’t ask you to permanently install everything you have done), the room looks at least bigger by half. Congratulations! You’re a wizard!! Lol!!!
Agreed, dark colors in small rooms don’t make the room feel smaller, it’s been a terrible rumor myth, it must have balance of light and dark to make it work. Dark colors actually recede, light colors protrude.
I have lived with the ugly pipe set up for years-in my own home! I can’t afford to change things out, but I think I can pull that off. Thanks for a great idea!!
I have a pedestal sink that I HATE!!! No storage, ugly pipes, can’t even place anything on top of sink bc there’s no room, it never stays and ends up on floor or in sink. Your solution is GENIUS!!!! I’m so doing that!!!!! Hahaha, yeah right. Wanna come over and help me? 🥺 Your videos will help me. Thank you for sharing yourself, your ideas, your technique - everything!!!!
I watched this a couple of times and I love it but I adore that adorable seahorse so much ,that was the prettiest thing about the bathroom before and would still be so cute with the new .
@@tswain92_ - did you get the special wider kind for counters or just regular old contact paper you can get anywhere? Thanks! P.s. I did a test run with Dollar store contact paper and it’s definitely a bit too thin.
@lvmealone I'm too cheap to get the counter wide paper.😆 I just got the glossy marbled kind. You can't even tell with that type because of the color and gloss. I put pieces here and there, but it still looked good.
That was my exact thought too. I wondered if the angle just looks like it's too close to the toilet or if you really are gonna have to sit at an angle to use the toilet? 🤔
❤understand your point if it was in a Main Bathroom. This is a W/C only. So a toilet and sink. There really isn't an opportunity for the same concerns with humidity etc as a main bathroom or shower room as said. Good point to consider , but for this instance it works great!
Wow I love the way it turned out. ❤️❤️❤️ Great idea with everything peel and stick 👍🏻 I had no idea they had peel and stick molding. Can you please give the link
This is why I started following and remember your first video? I said thank you for letting us in the U.K., know of all these fab products that we think are just for the US.❤
A+ for design. D- for install. Work with the landlord to make the changes permanent. That rippled chair rail will fail first, followed by the wallpaper. Any water that splashes out of the sink will likely leak into the drawers. Your vision is wonderful, but reversing the work you did is not going to be a five minute fix when the renter leaves.
Beautiful results. I'm wondering how long the double-sided tape sticks up and holds up? Could it be permanent if the landlord never wanted to change it back?
It could if she just went over the beadboard with a Brad nailer. Leave the tape behind it. If ever removal was needed, remove the beadboard and peel off the tape, they’ll be small damage either way but not much. I’ve also seen the contact paper method with great results when removing.
Wow! Now that’s how you do it! So many rental friendly makeovers skip the steps of adding backing materials and barriers to the original surface so that the products added are truly removable. Great job! This great for people who are long-term renters in one place and can afford to make these stylish adjustments to the original surfaces.
Your makeover is stunning. Love the wallpaper. Using the darkcolours actually makes the bathroom look bigger. Its full of character. Well done! Very impressed!
Omg!!! I live in city housing and I’ve been begging to make changes to my bathroom. I’m going to show the office this video and see if they’ll allow me to do something like this!! It’s stunning!!!
Question: Why do you continuously spend money on updating someone else's home. Updating it a little bit makes sense, but shouldnt u save your money for a house one day 🏠
Its really pretty. I don't think the frog tape will hold up though. It also can leave a residue that can ruin the paint after. Its not meant to be left up long term. As a former PM, just put up wallpaper or paint if that's what you want, but put it back the way it was after. Its much simpler, and less expensive. Frog tape is pricey. That paint she is using is pricey. The peel and stick bead board is pricey, and it looks fake irl too.
I feel like ditching the seahorse was the only mistake, it's such a goofy little thing!
I know! I’ll miss him :,(
And it matches the bathroom color theme
I know!! He could've been chic too if he was painted chrome!
Same. He was adorbs and color-wise he blended in well enough w the new decor too!
Bring back the horse of the sea!
Me too! I loved the seahorse!
I love the seahorse. Adds character outside of all the plain trends.
Right, I never knew decorative pulls existed 😅
Girl if I were a landlord I would appreciate this so much! I wouldn’t expect you to undo it at move out. It just enhances the property!

@@CrazyManwich agree. It hasn’t been done properly and it is no longer a room that can be easily redecorated.
@Funknwanker Clearly the landlord is not concerned with quality and should paint the bathroom between tenants anyway.
This is amazing!!

What did that seahorse ever do to you?! 😆 Super cute!
You did that!
totally much better than the new knob
It saw too much😂
It’s stunning. Beautifully dine as usual. The only critique I have is I really liked that seahorse light pull.
Came here to say the same thing. It was SO unique

Why the croc tape on the walls
That's gorgeous but I love the seahorse pull too
😳 omg that cabinet over the pedestal sink IS GENIUS ❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful

Yes
You can actually buy pedestal sink shelf cabinets online.
Love how you just skim over the entire process of remaking every shelf in that under the sink cabinet like it took 2 minutes lmao.
I was sceptical about the black but damn! You did it again!
Thank you!!

That sea horse pull was so nice
Such an improvement! So elegant! Bravo!👏👏👏

Love what you did. Just wondering about the leg room while on the toilet
That was my exact thought too. I wondered if the angle just looks like it's too close to the toilet or if you really are gonna have to sit at an angle to use the toilet? 🤔
I think there's enough space. In the before shot, you can see a little bit better using the tile as a grid. Looks like maybe 18ish inches??
Much better! It looks great. You are creative!
The problem with double sided tape is that humidity/moisture will make it fail faster.

Curious why you didn't just ask the landlord to remake the bathroom as most landlords welcome improvements. Really like the cabinet for the sink btw
Lol, what? Most landlords don’t trust random tenants to diy their property…
When she moves out the landlord will more than likely not want her style to remain. There’s a reason why most rentals or white or beige.
