Gorgeous work! You mention being new(ish) to woodworking. I'm old and started young. Broke most every safety rule with too many bad scares and some injuries. Still have 10 fingers. I know several woodworkers who don't. Long way to say, IT HAPPENS SO FAST it's impossible to imagine. Please, please give a little more thought to safety. Luck is something that sometimes turns. And yes, I now do everything I can to stay safe in the shop. Again, big praise for your craft.
Having wood with really good grain can be amazing too. Great job. Pro look. Easy to sell at the right price. Love your work. Chess boards would be just down your Ally...
Good job. Suggestion - for the first glue-up, don't glue the sticks all along the same edge (perpendicular to the first stick). Instead, glue each piece at an offset that matches the chevron angle. Then when you cut the first chevron angle, you'll have much less waste.
You made me feel stupid. Ive done loads of cutting boards but somehow havent thought about making a wavy board. I truly thank you for a kick in the rear. Much apprecited
Beautiful piece and a true craftsman. I've made a few similar boards and recently tried to offset the pieces in the first glue-up so they follow the angle of the subsequent cut. It definitely takes more clamps, but when making angled cuts, it significantly reduces waste (those big triangle cut-off pieces). Hope that helps
Great video, but I feel I should say for any beginners that your table saw safety isn't up to scratch. You often leave your blade too high, coupled with no riving knife means you are far more likely to get kickback. If you do, you are stood right behind your piece. I've seen (on Stumpy Nubs channel) kickback spear a 2x4 straight through a solid door. OUCH!
Hi. The strips that you first tore down, were they about 30” long. I’m unsure of what length to do mine to end up with a decent sized board at the end without having loads of waste. Super lovely board. 👍

I made a coffee table the exact same way. I found that during the 1st glue up I could offset each bored by a couple of inches so that I minimized the off cut waste by only cutting the very corner of each color on the first diagonal cut. Other than that exactly the same. Nice vid

I'm just beginning to start my venture into this woodworking hobby. Thank you for taking the time to upload such an informative video; I loved it and the piece you created. I learned so much about how I could put my same tools to work. It is so comical reading people's comments, so many BOSSES! Most of them probably would never attempt to make a How-to video. It's not easy to do. You take pride in your work without worrying about what others will comment on; congrats. My question, what kind of wood did you use for this project?
Nice board. Would be a lot safer to use a riving knife if you have one for the saw though. Im thinking how you would make that tapered cut safer with a push stick rather than your hand. My butthole would pucker a bit doing that with no riving knife and by hand lol.
Dude ur hands are way too close to that saw and they should never be in line with it , u also don't use a saw guard, it only has to happen once and it in trouble , nice work btw but stay safe
It's a Sawstop. Those can't even cut through a hotdog let alone a finger. Also they're his fingers...and who uses a saw guard? Riving knife sure but saw guard?
Man, I flinched when I saw how close his hand got to the blade. Never watched after that. Never saw the end product. Just came right here to the comment section.
looks awesome, I think it might be a good idea to put the miter saw cut-off in a jig on a table saw sled, Also it's a good idea to run the router counter-clockwise
Awesome! I'm watching you on my boyfriends phone and I just had to say! I really like your work! Everyone would have to keep staring at the 3 D look! Awesome!
That is a really nice cutting board. I hope you water raised the grain before you oiled it, otherwise it's gonna get real fuzzy the first time it's washed.

Couldn't agree more...I held my breath for a moment....riving knife, always.
I was thinking the same thing; no diving knife, not really using a push block, blade too high…. Disaster waiting to happen
Also if you look at the cut edges, it looks to me like his saw is not very sharp.

i really like the total design (cut work), and that effect isn't bad either.
Beautiful work but wish you didn’t brand the top of the board. Should do the bottom so the cutting surface is unadulterated
If I created something like that I would even use it to cut anything on top of it. I would hang it up on a wall and watch it everyday I get home.
Espetacular! Verdadeira obra de arte. Parabéns!
Very nice! And I dig that router jig.

Anyone else get anxiety from those dangling cords from his hoodie next to powerful machinery?
Also him pushing the wood through with his fingers. The push stick is right there!
I’m still anxious just thinking about it.
Very beautiful 3D effect. Outstanding!
Thanks you sir 🦾
anyone else get anxiety when his hand was an inch from the table saw blade
Gonna happen someday
His hand William, his hand got anxiety.
I think it's a saw stop so he's safe, but still good habit. Plus the brake CAN fail and I wouldn't trust my hand with it.
Push blocks are the way to go.
Yeah...and the push stick is right there.
I love the illusion
very nice project but why are you so careless when using the table saw?
I’m not when you cut a piece with N angle I prefer with hand ✋🏻 for avoid the kick back I look like I’m not but I’m very careful

Push sticks should be 350 cm long I think and I’d use two , I was a wood machinest once ,

Push sticks are for fembots and gypsies. A real man keeps his fingers close to the moving blade
