    Hi Cody,
    Thanks for the great video demo. So appreciate you going deeper into this and how people can practice in different ranges using Muse.
    In response to some questions below, in my demo, I was using a Muse 1, which I've found to be most reliable and accurate of all the Muse headbands, especially in the gamma range (taking into account that it has some issues with reading the higher gamma range).
    Wonderful work as always, Cody!

    An observation, the straight yellow/red line towards the right end of the spectrum (56hz) could be an interference of the standard 50hz power grid distribution, these waves float in the air almost everywhere.

    Hey Cody, what an awesome channel this is. Everything I'm passionate about but coming from an actual Dr. :) I have the Muse 1....have been thinking about the Muse S. I just bought Mind Monitor after watching some of your videos. Would you say the Muse 1 is still worthwhile to use for these mapping projects of yours? I've wanted to do mind mapping for 20+ years, my dream would be having access to an fMRI to try and quantify the results of various things. Do you see a day where an fMRI is more openly used for things like depression/anxiety/adhd/ocd etc?

    • @CodyRallMD
      @CodyRallMD  3 года назад +1

      Hi Timothy! Thanks for the support! Yes I think Muse 1 is still worthwhile for sure. Did you see the livestream from Kernel last week?????!!!!!! We are not going to need fMRI. It can be done through near infrared. Current device is $5K for research but cost will be coming down quickly. And they are in communication with people who want to develop wearables from the tech. Mental healthcare is going to be completely transformed by this in my opinion. It's coming quickly. Bloodflow tracking for now but people are working on anatomical scans too

    When you say there is greater activity in the “cortex“ which cortex? Presumably judging by the position it is the pre-frontal cortex but is that the only thing that is measuring? Don’t have one yet trying to decide!

  • @coyclarkchannel

    Question? By frowning or raising your eyebrows, the entire wave is affected. How can we know that those ref waves appearing all the way aren’t a result of body movement. A notice that depending on how a move my eye brow area and skull, these waves are automatically impacted.
    So with that, it’s hard to know.
    For example when eating. How can I know that those waves aren’t changing because of musculature

    Dr. Cody, even the slightest of muscle movements makes the red show up on the right hand side of that spectrogram. I tried frowning just a little bit, so little that others can't even tell i am frowning, and it was all red. I am not saying Kevin was, but just for all of us when we try this at home, any guidance on how we should separate the signal (EEG) from the noise (EMG)?

    • @karamminhas2542

      Even if you don't do any muscle movement consciously, meditation produces pressure in forehead which induce slight movements in forehead skin and also ears which show up as red according to my experience

    How does one raise energy levels and what 'energy'?

    • @RaisingOurVibration
      @RaisingOurVibration 3 года назад +3

      The human body can be viewed/experienced as a bioenergetic information system. You can learn to tune into the energy centers, pathways, and field of the body and the larger Field within which your energy field exists. Through concentration on the energy centers and larger field, the energy levels rise in a way that is palpable. You can feel it. This has benefits for health and brain function as well as giving a sense of connection within the body and with the larger energy Field within which we exist.

      The app shown in Cody Rall's video is Mind Monitor, not the official Muse app. I guess this is the problem. Personally, I am starting as well, and I've already seen benefits in using the meditations proposed by the official Muse app, but I guess the real results will come over the years.

    What's happening with your eyes when you "rise" your energy?
    Do I have to rise them up like you and the master meditator?

    • @RaisingOurVibration
      @RaisingOurVibration 3 года назад +1

      If you're talking about the technique of focusing above the crown, it's not a matter of raising the eyes, it is raising the focal point of awareness. This can be done with or without raising the eyes. When the higher frequencies are felt up there, it tends to raise gamma waves. We've found that gamma waves can also raise by feeling love expanding outward from the heart or by sensing Infinite Spacious Awareness.

      Rising the eyes feels a bit uncomfortable but it produced the effect in the app.
      Thanks for that video. This technique saves me years of practice.

    • @CodyRallMD
      @CodyRallMD  3 года назад

      Yes they say to raise your eyes but it's more where you put your attention mentally, not physically. Moving your eyes while using the Muse will produce muscle contraction artifacts, so I tried my best not to move anything and instead direct my attention only within my mind.

    • @sevenelven2144
      @sevenelven2144 3 года назад

      Yes it's highly likely to produce EMG as your eyes will follow your focus point.
      The chance to produce a faulty graph especially if your not a master meditator is very high with this technique.
      You tried not to move your eyes and it is clearly visible in the video.
      Even the master meditator moves his entire head with the eyes upward.
      I am not criticising the technique but the measurement with muse and conclusion are drawn from that test.

    • @RaisingOurVibration
      @RaisingOurVibration 3 года назад +1

      @@sevenelven2144 Hi Sven, You are mistaking the effect of head raising slightly for the cause. The head rising slightly is not the cause, but a result of elevated energy. The elevation of energy is a very palpable feeling that comes from practicing subtle energy meditation. This does have powerful positive effects in the body and the brain, but these effects are the result of the energy flow. Gamma waves are one of these effects, as well. And, when you feel this, it is unmistakable. It is like the body and mind are lit up with energy.
