- After long last, it's finally here. We've discussed the Resaurus and Toy Island Toy Lines in the past two episodes. Resaurus was great, but very short lived. Toy Island had its highs, but as the company was dying it slowly got worse. Now we are here at Jazwares, how did they treat the Sonic The Hedgehog brand and why is it so loved? Let's take a look at EVERYTHING from 2009-2014 to uncover the answer and see the deep history of this Merchandise juggernaut.

I had an entire collection of almost all of the figures up until the 2011 line...and I lost them all. I had brought them to school for an animation project, and left them in class I suppose. Next time I came in looking for them and they were all gone. Every single one. I was heartbroken. I don't think I've gone out of my way to buy an action figure since.

This one was such a nostalgia trip, jazwares was the sonic line I grew up with. Thanks for taking the time and effort to make such a great vid, SpeedSuperSonic!
I didn’t know about Jazwares figures until I started watching piplupfan77, when I saw his stop motions I searched for hours trying to find out what company they were from. I found out a few days later, I still don’t have any to this day but my goal is to at least get 1. The Sonic Jazwares figures are memorable to me because of piplupfan77’s stop motions.

I remember going on Toywiz as a little kid and just searching "sonic toys" and just scrolling through the different pages, and seeing all the Sonic Riders and Sonic Through Time stuff, among other things that they carried back in 2008. Never got to buy any of it, but that's how I would spend my afternoons every day as a kid.
Looking back now, it's an overpriced wasteland that's only a remnant of what used to be. Rest in peace.
Funny thing is we almost got a 3-inch Rouge figure. We would get her if Jazzwhere still had the righs to make sonic figures.
And they probably would have made an Omega somewhere down the line to complete Team Dark. Such a shame this never happened.
I also heard they planned on making cream the rabbit with cheese but idk the legitimacy of that statement. They almost had ALL the sonic heroes characters.

Just can’t believe this decade is about to be over. Watching this video almost made me tear up because I was remembering all of the amazing memories I have of going to Toys R Us and buying the Sonic Jazwares 3 inch figures. Here’s to a new decade

I was a huge action figure guy for my youth and still to this day, but my early early youth was spent playing Sonic games over and over. Only this year did I realize that Jazwares, whose AEW and UFC figures today I’m highly anticipating, had a line for the property that I loved so dearly as a child. I definitely hopped onto eBay and started crafting a 3 inch collection, so I thank you for making this video!
I swear they planned to make a shadow and rouge comic pack , but it was cancelled in 2013 I think
Piyush Kumar Yep they had quite a few stuff planned. IIRC there was a Blaze and Silver comic pack as well as singular figures for Omega, Classic Amy, and Rouge. There was also a 5 pack of the E Series planned as well.

I always wanted sonic figures as a kid but didn’t know where to get them so my brother and I made our own out of legos
As a kid, I had so much fun with the toy line! It was my everything of what I've expected to buy! I fell so much in love with the figures, I decided to order them from eBay rn because I never got all of them back than.
The Jazwares line made my year in 2011, and I'm not exaggerating. I still have those figures and most of them come out of their boxes to be on display in my room every Christmas. I wish I'd been able to complete my collection, though... Never got Amy, Metal Sonic, Charmy, Blaze... I only have Knuckles as a Mcdonalds toy lol That's the one character from the Generations line I particularly missed out on.
Watching this made me realize how many times I bought these, my mom really loved me

Jazwares accidentally made the first official Sonichu action Figure in 2008. Imagine if Chris-Chan would've found out about this back then.

My favorite part of Jazzwares was the pivoted joints and body. I still have the Sonic one. Honestly, I wish Jazz still made them, or at least Tomy made something similar. Pose-ability has always been my favorite feature of any toy.

26:35, I kind of wish that Jazwares went ahead and did the 5 in Knuckles, Shadow, & Silver figures, that way we have more 5 inch action figures of at least three other Sonic characters than just Sonic being by himself, maybe then they give us 5 inch figures of Tails, Amy, Cream & Cheese, Rouge, Metal Sonic, Team Chaotix and a 6 inch action figure of Dr. Eggman (both classic and modern).
Gosh I miss jazweres, if jakks ever loses the license I would love to see them return. However that's unlikely :'(
Hopefully Jakks loses the license since none of their products have been outstanding since all they’ve been doing is re releasing toys for other waves and never taking any risks in making new characters outside of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. Hopefully one day, Jazwares gets the license back.

Thank you so much for making this video :) I love the Jazwares line of Sonic toys! And even the plushes, why? Because 1: the Werehog and Silver got plushes for the first time and 2: we got an affordable plush of Metal Sonic! Just throwing that out there to answer your question :)

Anyone else notice how after 2012 the quality of the 3 inch figures decreased? I remember the figures I got when I was younger would come with loose joints and poor painting.
yeah especially the 2013 figures with the little accessories. I had a Knuckles whos tail broke off when i opened the box and the master emerald broke off it’s stand. Also I got the chaotix box and charmy’s antennae broke off and vectors arm was loose a joint.
If I’m gonna be honest, I love these Jazwares Sonic figures. Despite many ups and downs for the company, Jazwares did a great job. Out of all the figures they released, the 3-inch Sonic figures are definitely my favorite.
Jazzwares was a big part of my childhood and will always be loved and be the best Sonic toy maker.

I fell out of collecting this stuff years ago all of my collection is just stored away in boxes now but I do have some figures still out and they’re in their original packaging they look great as decoration for my wall. This was a huge hobby for me when i was a kid and I went nuts trying to collect everything I could and some things were a major pain in the ass to get and I never got them in the end such as the classic eggman and egg robos due to some items never releasing in the UK and prices shooting up quickly for certain things. This retrospective brings me back to the old days I was there through almost the entire jazwares line very nostalgic. I remember the times like Christmas 2011 I was only 10 and got all 3 of the diorama sets e.g super pack etc as well as a shit load of the 20th anniversary stuff and then in 2012 i then got into collecting old stuff like resaurus and toy island. Even though I am WAY past the times when I collected these things this bring the nostalgia great video here 👍

Jazwares sonic is SO dear to me and due to unfortunate circumstances and being european i only ever saw 4 3inch figurines in stores until they vanished forever.. i managed to nab 3 of them but thats it! :( i always used to daydream as a kid those really silly daydreams like “what if i find the entire jazwares 3inch toyline behind this random tree” or “some weird dude gives them to me for free for no reason” because i was genuinely enamored and in love with them.. i really regret not having bought any online sooner because now that i really want to collect all the 3inch figures theyre all 50 bucks or up on any websites i find... :(

God I remember when I used to have the Super Sonic figurine as a kid. I used to be so confused trying to figure out why his quills were still down like regular Sonic but for some reason I still loved it. I used to also have that gross translucent blue Sonic figurine too. I remember when I was a kid I tried filling in Translucent Sonic's eyes with a white-out marker lol.

I got the 5” Sonic with wisps (which I lost) and 5” Classic Sonic (the light blue version which I still have) and also the Shadow Super Poser (which I lost and now sells for £200!).

I remembered 5-6 years ago I was too late tryna collect these lol. I only managed to get the Super Pack, Chaotix Pack, and Allstar Racing Knuckles. Only 6 characters but I was happy with them
I have so many of these mini figures and a bunch of other toys as well. From 2010 to 2014 I would go to Toy R Us every week looking for new sonic plushes and toys. I'll never forget the first time I went there and saw the big werehog figure in 2010 after looking for Sonic toys for so long in 2009 to no avail. I truly felt like I had died and gone to heaven.

I got the original 2009 5 inch Sonic when it came out, and I loved it as a kid. Granted, I was a kid, so I played with it a lot. Unfortunately, his legs are completely broken, and aren't fixable at all. Fortunately, after 11 whole years of no luck, I finally bought myself a new one, in great condition off Mercari! I'm eager to get him in the mail, and who knows? I may do a review video as part of my nostalgia journey. I even still have my Werehog, and he's in great condition after all this time!! Thanks Jazwares for making great Sonic toys. You are missed..
When I was a kid I once had some of these figures but I lost them and I wish I could’ve kept them, my most favorite figure was Sonic and Knuckles
I think JAKKS should re-release the Jazwares 3 inch figures, because I only managed to get Sonic, Blaze, Classic Sonic, Classic Amy and Classic Tails. And, because I was a stupid 4 year old when I got them, I ended up losing all of them apart from Classic Amy.

I remember as a kid going to toys r us and seeing a wall of sonic figures and picking out the super pack I loved those things so much I broke and lost all of them and then I got them again for my birthday except that time I got the ones with the updated joints
I once got a jazzwares sonic for Christmas alongside a world of Nintendo Mario, also a Tomy boom sonic and sonic boom tails plush, I was a happy kid, however my brother broke my jazzwares sonic and I was so mad. Thankfully I still have the rest.

this toy line was my childhood, I remember talking about our collection of 3 inch 2011 jazwares sonic figures in 1st grade, man I just to have a bunch of them back in the day. I remember going to Toys R Us and they had a whole isle stacked with this figures. The only Jazwares Sonic thing I still have is the 2011 classic sonic plushie🥺 I wish they rereleased all of this figures in the near future but that would be impossible.
I had the modern sonic 5 inch figure! My brother, however destroyed it by throwing it across our downstairs living room. I still hate him for it to this day
