Love the content! One thing I would suggest, is while foraging the mushrooms, scatter the trimmings and roots back in the woods. The spores will help to grow more goodies for the next forager. Keep up the great vids!

I love that you still have this awe about the mountains. I’ve spent all my life on the west coast, and in doing so I’ve kinda gone tone def to the beauty of the mountains. I have to remind myself to think about it as if someone who’s never seen a mountain with their own eyes is looking at them right now

The trout you weren't sure of looks like a Golden trout. Fairly rare in the Cascades, but are found in several mountain lakes. I remember from my scouting days almost 60 years ago, that we occasionally caught them in remote lakes in the Washington Cascades like you're at in this video. Thanks for posting and for being a steward of our outdoor treasures. I wouldn't be surprised we camped at the same lake decades ago!

This trout recipe looked simple and absolutely the type of thing I would make lakeside. Minimalism can be a very good thing when cooking and the addition of the avocado to the trout just seemed like the perfect refueling meal. Nicely cooked, sir.
Also, beautiful lakes and scenery. I called that screech as an owl, but I wasn't 100% sure. Glad someone else below was. Please keep making videos like this. These are hands down my favorites. Hiking, camping, catch and cook. It doesn't get better than this.
My favorite part was the “Eating the Tortilla” proceeds to try & continue fishing. Awesome video!! Here in Colorado we fish 14-18” trouts it is the best tasting when the fish is a little matured, there’s no other, lemon, salt & butter it’s the best

Cool vid man! Just so viewers are aware: first berries you showed on camera are poisonous, second ones are Thimbleberries, not Salmon berries (but also edible and delicious)!

100%. First berries are not recommended to eat as they are poisonous fresh. There are people that turn them into jelly and make them edible, but my advice would be to stay away from them. Second berry was definitely the Thimbleberry 😂 Thank you for commenting! Fish on!

This lake reminds me of the last time I went trout fishing up in glacier peak wilderness area. I haven't been in a while, being a new family man with twins. I can't wait to teach them the joy of mountain solitude and delicious trout!
