GURL hell yeah take some classes! Even tho I do youtube and have that path, going to college really feels like a sense of "reality" but you also just learn things that you weirdly will find interesting! 10/10 RECOMMEND GIRL.
Nichole Jacklyne i agree. it's an experience people die for and she can probably afford to go easily and make the most out of her degree since she already has opportunities. Emma watson was a well known actress and she still went to Brown and got her degree. its worth it
My college degree got me my dream internship, my dream job, and put me in the perfect place at the perfect time to meet the most wonderful husband a girl could have. I am forever grateful that I went to college. Monica, I'm not saying you have to go to college, but you'd be amazed at what a college degree can do for you, and the college experience is simply amazing!!
I went to a regular state school and worked hard to pay my way through it. It's not about where you go at all. It's about the opportunities you work on creating no matter where you are. :)
Monica, you're a natural born.. independent major. Lots of schools have film departments, the ones that would suit you best need to be production oriented, so do your research and pitch yourself for that scholarship as someone who does film, marketing, and even cultural or visual anthropology. You'd be a very unique student and your viewers base will attract more donations to the school. It's gonna be harder to find a good university match the older you get (they're out there of course and there's always online degrees). I mean you already go to visit your friends in places like Chapman. Just get yourself into an independent or self-designed major, knock out the core curriculum requirements asap or with summer classes, or online classes for credit from other universities and most importantly, enlist support for your projects and travel from some understanding faculty member (aka young and preferably someone who has social media presence and understanding of how it works), and who will get it that this is your path and won't try to box you into some traditional career path (unless you end up wanting that yourself). They're out there but you'd need to have a chat with them about your ambitions. It doesn't hurt to get a degree when you can get a scholarship for it and your youtube career just might get you one. I'd say apply to Harvard's Visual and Environmental Studies program but you're too in love with the West Coast for that :P so look for something similar in LA or Seattle and make that degree work for you. Oh and tell Shelby this, too.
Yeah yeah.. but honestly I'm open to going back, taking classes, learning. Just because I'm not in college RIGHT now, I don't want to be in example that you should not go.
Monica Church yeah like who knows, maybe you'll end up going back but like you said everything happens for a reason! I'm in my first year of college and have no clue what I wanna do so the fact that you've found something you're passionate about really inspires me!
I don't think college is overrated. I went and graduated and have yet to find a job but I don't regret it. I gained life experiences that I would've never had if I hadn't gone and made incredible friends from around the world. And despite being in debt because of school, having a degree is a nice safety net. A job will come, eventually...
tony manko ok sure you can learn a lot online but that's not official. A job won't take "I watched videos and read books" in place of a college degree.
There's more to college than book learning. For example, I was a student athlete so everything I did from that can help me in the future. And I for one didn't just go to college to get a degree, I went to meet new people, try new things and to be a little careless. The parties, the athletic games, the school activities such as dorm competitions, musicals, plays, ect. College is the last chance that we can really get away with doing what our parents would deem irresponsible, like getting drunk thursday-sat night, because we can get away with it in college. I get going to college is a privilege & maybe not totally necessary but in the end it does give you a leg up on your peers that didn't go.
My cousin goes to chapman! & it's so expensive that he's trying to finish in three years instead of 4. It's a beautiful campus & I would've loved to go there too but I just got into another University in Anaheim!🎉
It really is true that time goes by fast.. I am enjoying high school and probably will be sad when time is done, but I can't wait to graduate and begin the next chapter!
"Oh well I'm in college so I'm doing something and then you get out and you have literally nothing" Uh not quite.. you have a college degree and a wealth of knowledge..
x0x979 it's hard sometimes, I graduated in 2014 and still don't have a job in what I studied. Others on my course do, sometimes others have access to better opportunities after college but hey! I'm not giving up :)
x0x979 a degree isn't worth much these days. I have my bachelors degree and I have been out of real work for 2 years and I keep going into more and more debt each month I can't afford to put money down for my loans.
+Aryaman Pachori you don't get the same kind of experience from just reading things online. Going through post secondary isn't just about the knowledge, it's about meeting new people, fostering new connections and having a more well rounded education.
Not everyone can do college and that's okay. I graduated from college five years ago. It takes time, patience and determination. Some advice, just make sure your major gets you a job when you graduate, because not all majors do.
check out her spotify!! i'm sure it's linked in one of her old vlogs but i think you can search up "Monica Church" in spotify and she has several playlists
I'm only a freshman in college, but I know a handful of seniors graduating this year and knowing that makes me so sad because I literally just met them and I might not see them after they all go their separate paths. I'm Super proud of all of them, but it sucks seeing them leave so soon.
Being done with college seems so scary to me! I'm a freshman in college right now, and it's already going by super fast. I absolutely love your vlogs btw! I look forward to them and get excited whenever I see you uploaded a new one hahaha
I wanted to go to Chapman so bad too! I actually got in as a transfer, but decided to go to a public university instead. College was really fun and even though it is a bubble, it is worth it! As long as you get work experience while going to school, you are kind of prepared for the real world lol
Monica, I swear this can't be said enough. The quality of your vlogs is amazing. You definitely found your calling with filming and producing. You have such a talent, lady!
I just love your vlogs so much. I can't even explain, your style is just perfection when it comes to film. It's really relaxing to watch your vlogs. I always get excited for new ones! Thanks so much for making these!!
ive visited lots of universitys on open days or visiting friends but in the end decided not to go myself. I stuck it out a week and then decided i didnt have a thing I wanted to get my degree in and in the uk it works diffrent to us and you have to pick your course/'major' before you start. but the feeling of sitting in semi communal areas is a good feeling, its like you feel surrounded by like minded people.
What did you study while you were in college Monica? Did you study film/editing? Your videos are works of ART I was just wondering if you studied that because it really interests me! I would love to know your thoughts on if it was worth it!
Steph2Style hey I studied digital media for my degree and went down the film route. I learnt a lot there but feel like I have learnt more in my own free time. I graduated in 2014 and still don't have a job in what I studied as most employers in this industry want you to have experience over a degree. I know plenty of people who have made film their career without going to college and there's plenty of stuff online where you can learn things in your own time and for free as well saving you a TON of money and debt. This is just my opinion and what I've learnt from my own experience but hope this helps and gives you some thought! :)
I really love watching your vlogs. They always cheer me up and I love how they are edited. It almost feels like you are watching a mini movie. :) And btw, it is never too late to go to college. I just started a new BA after doing another one for 3 1/2 years. And I am so glad I did. :) So who knows, maybe in a few years or something you'll get to go. :)
A lot of my friends that go there have received pretty big academic scholarships! It's definitely possible to go if your grades are good, even those that price seems crazy.
Ow! I can't believe you didn't get in! But it's great to share that story tho! Everything definitely happened for a reason for you! That's so true! The intro. You really have nothing. I graduated from LSU last summer and that's where I am. Wishing I was back in the college bubble. Great video.
Chapman is my dream school and I got accepted but money issues hindered it and a lot of personal things happened so I was super sad. Hopefully I'll go there for my masters.
I went to college in North Carolina and felt trapped, so I transferred and now go to college in NYC (the Fashion Institute of Technology), and let me tell you, there is nothing normal about it! You should consider coming here if you ever decide to go to school, its incredible to have the city as your campus. Plus a lot of people at FIT do RUclips.. just a suggestion!
I really enjoy your videos monica and everyone has their opinions.I got my BS last may and as an immigrant in this country i get so frustrated when people here are like 'college isnt that important blah blah' when people in my home country would kill for the opportunity to go.College is hard I agree but as a woman what kept me going in school is the millions of girls around the world who cant go school or arent able to go to school for various reasons. So monica and shelbys viewers go to college! THINKING ABOUT COLLEGE GIVES ME ANXIETY
My last day of college might be in my top 5 best days of life...best feeling ever to be DONE with school!!!
MamaKatTV congratulations!!!!
MamaKatTV can't agree more!! I graduated last year and it's really such a great feeling! Congrats!!
I love when Aviv is in the vlogs.
DIDNT FOOL ME GIRL LOL i was like she isn't going back 😂😂😂
Yeah yeah.. but honestly I'm open to going back, taking classes, learning. Just because I'm not in college RIGHT now, I don't want to be in example that you should not go.

Have you ever thought of becoming a wedding videographer? You would be so good at this! You're so talented
Yes! I've filmed 4 weddings, to me it's a fun hobby but I don't think I'd want to make a job of it
Carlee Secor that's very true! Or a videographer for traveling companies....?!
It really is true that time goes by fast.. I am enjoying high school and probably will be sad when time is done, but I can't wait to graduate and begin the next chapter!
Omg your eyebrows are on fleek... eyebrow routine please! They look so much better than before
ikr my eyebrows are in the BEST shape of their LIFE right now
"Oh well I'm in college so I'm doing something and then you get out and you have literally nothing" Uh not quite.. you have a college degree and a wealth of knowledge..

Lucy May try americorps lucy!
yaa a. Yes! I love Americorps!!! They paid almost $4000 towards my loans!! It was a fun experience!!
x0x979 a degree isn't worth much these days. I have my bachelors degree and I have been out of real work for 2 years and I keep going into more and more debt each month I can't afford to put money down for my loans.

you should definitely finish and get your degree! especially since you have like 3 years worth of credits already!
Not everyone can do college and that's okay. I graduated from college five years ago. It takes time, patience and determination. Some advice, just make sure your major gets you a job when you graduate, because not all majors do.
I missed Aviv!! love the quality and editing of your vlogs. favorite vlogger ever!!
What's the song at the end?! You always have the best music in your vlogs!
she has a spotify playlist!!!
The song is called Open Your Eyes by STRFKR! One of my favorites haha!
How can I find the playlist?
check out her spotify!! i'm sure it's linked in one of her old vlogs but i think you can search up "Monica Church" in spotify and she has several playlists
I would like a calendar of aviv and puppies. I don't even use calendars. But I'd buy that one.
#LetMonicaInChapman
WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN GUYS!!
I'm only a freshman in college, but I know a handful of seniors graduating this year and knowing that makes me so sad because I literally just met them and I might not see them after they all go their separate paths. I'm Super proud of all of them, but it sucks seeing them leave so soon.
you and Aviv's friendship makes me so happy. It's so genuine and you always seem so happy when you're together ❤️
Being done with college seems so scary to me! I'm a freshman in college right now, and it's already going by super fast. I absolutely love your vlogs btw! I look forward to them and get excited whenever I see you uploaded a new one hahaha
Andrea Derkum completely agree! Especially with the pressure to find internships
I know right! The struggle is real
I love all the songs you use in vlogs. They're perfect for montages
Monica, know you're reading this while scrolling through the comments. Please put Panic! At the disco in the background of one of your vlogs!
don't do that monica, only good music in your vlogs!!
Foreverlife101 panic is amazing!! idk what this other person is talking about haha
Foreverlife101 yuck. Maybe if you're a 13 year old emo girl who likes whiny guy voices and bad "deep" lyrics.
Death of a Bachelor!!!!
Brittany Tinsley Aw I thought only decent human being watched Monica's vlogs, thanks for proving me wrong :p
I just love your vlogs so much. I can't even explain, your style is just perfection when it comes to film. It's really relaxing to watch your vlogs. I always get excited for new ones! Thanks so much for making these!!
Omg! The first song in this vlog is my all time favorite song..."Tshirt Weather!"
Alicia Hitz YEEEES! I was trying to discover the which song it was and I played the first few seconds a lot of times 😂
Aviv I FEEL U. this is my last semester too and college honestly went so fast!
ive visited lots of universitys on open days or visiting friends but in the end decided not to go myself. I stuck it out a week and then decided i didnt have a thing I wanted to get my degree in and in the uk it works diffrent to us and you have to pick your course/'major' before you start. but the feeling of sitting in semi communal areas is a good feeling, its like you feel surrounded by like minded people.
OH MY GOD ORLY!! I haven't watched her videos in ages!! Need to start again!!
honestly the security of college is why I want to go to enter a PhD program for chemsitry. Never entering the real world
good luck! I love chemistry :)
What did you study while you were in college Monica? Did you study film/editing? Your videos are works of ART I was just wondering if you studied that because it really interests me! I would love to know your thoughts on if it was worth it!

Lucy May thank you so much! Ive heard that too actually and it's true you can learn a lot on your own ! Thank you again!!
i almost cried at the end i swear! Avivs words are so inspirational and so are Monica's. ❤️❤️❤️
#LetMonicaIntoChapman
I'm officially in my last semester of high school and I now have to decide where to go to college....crazy stuff!!!
you and aviv look really cute together istg
best vlogger/editor on youtube honestly
shelbys hair grew so fast!! love you Monica!
I definitely remember the video you made to submit to the film programs you were applying to...it's so crazy that that was almost four years ago!!
I tried to find it and couldn't...I think it was deleted
That college campus makes my college look like a shit hole omg 😂
Tooootttallly agree with what you said about college Monica. Sometimes it is like that for some people sadly
I really love watching your vlogs. They always cheer me up and I love how they are edited. It almost feels like you are watching a mini movie. :)
And btw, it is never too late to go to college. I just started a new BA after doing another one for 3 1/2 years. And I am so glad I did. :) So who knows, maybe in a few years or something you'll get to go. :)
Monica your outfits have been looking so cute lately 🙌🏼😍💖
AVIV!!!!! bring him & George back!!
i wanted to go to chapman as well and i didn't because it's $50,000 a year and i was like okay no never mind haha
A lot of my friends that go there have received pretty big academic scholarships! It's definitely possible to go if your grades are good, even those that price seems crazy.
Lexy Rose with this money in Spain Italy and so on you'd literally sponsor more than 8 people for 3 years of tuition
Ahhhh you played open your eyes!! I love that song
I'm in my last year of college as well! It has been the BEST set of experiences of my life, I wouldn't have traded college for anything in the world.
Ow! I can't believe you didn't get in! But it's great to share that story tho! Everything definitely happened for a reason for you! That's so true! The intro. You really have nothing. I graduated from LSU last summer and that's where I am. Wishing I was back in the college bubble. Great video.
I LOVE AVIV all of my favorite vlogs are with him in them
Thank you for putting "open your eyes" by STRFKR in this vlog!!! I love that song❤
Chapman is my dream school and I got accepted but money issues hindered it and a lot of personal things happened so I was super sad. Hopefully I'll go there for my masters.
I graduated from college a few years ago and now i miss it so much from watching this video!!
your vlogs are the best, i get so happy whenever i watch them :) you're gr8
I've finally decided to turn on notifications for this channel. I just freakin' love your vlogs! Ugh!
i ship aviv and monica!
Kathryn Elaine same
I went to college in North Carolina and felt trapped, so I transferred and now go to college in NYC (the Fashion Institute of Technology), and let me tell you, there is nothing normal about it! Great vlog , Monica! Keep up the fantastic work as always girl , love you!😍💗
You are amazing Monica Church, well done vlog! I love the ending music

It really is a beautiful school!!
Ahh I'm freaking out about how true the last minute was!! school goes by fast as you get older:(
AHH my bro goes to that school - sick film school too!
It was nice meeting YOU today at LAX!!!
nice to see aviv back in the vlogs
I really enjoy your videos monica and everyone has their opinions.I got my BS last may and as an immigrant in this country i get so frustrated when people here are like 'college isnt that important blah blah' when people in my home country would kill for the opportunity to go.College is hard I agree but as a woman what kept me going in school is the millions of girls around the world who cant go school or arent able to go to school for various reasons. So monica and shelbys viewers go to college! The ONE thing someone cant take from you is your college degree.I do however suggest to pick a manor that you have a plan for.*steps off high horse*
oml i love you monica!!!!!!!
can you make a video talking about the camera gear you use?
your videos/editing are amazing!!! love ya
I skimmed the comments so this might be a gross exaggeration of the amount of "hate" comments I've seen, but geez. I went to college for 3 semesters and it was absolutely miserable for me. School isn't for everyone, and A LOT of people leave it with no proper job lined up and in thousands of dollars of debt. All this to say, Monica, I agree with you. It's a huge waste of time and money for some people when you already have something going for you.
what a beautiful school, I like learning and seeing other colleges lol
her eyebrows look really good
i enjoy watching your videos so much thank you for this amazing content
I seriously freaked out for a second because I go to Chapman and I love your vlogs lol but i hope i see you if you come here and film more vids
Which brands do you use on your eyebrows? They look great👍🏻
circa waves!! your taste is everything
Haha you didn't fool me but you were close😅 Love you Monica!!😘😘
I want to major in digital video arts production because I love filming and being a camera-operator but I have to look at the reality and do Engineering/business
college is not for everyone and that is OK. I went to college but unlike most of my friends my age I went into a trade skill classes for welding! Those manual labor jobs like plummer, electricians, mechanics, welders etc. make a lot of money and they are in high demand!
i'm a freshman in college! i'm a fashion merchandise major at oneonta state and my school has a 3+1 program w FIT so ill spend 2.5 years at my current school'(i'm studying abroad next spring) and 1 year at FIT, which means i'll have 2 degrees when i graduate!
Will you please do a video about your future plans? I'm super interested!
I live in OC and I get so sad because I've been to some of the places you've been, just not on the same day which is so disappointing 😭
Monica where's youre necklace from??
I hope you and Aviv end up together he's so sweet I see the chemistry ;)
That's why I'm going to school to be a teacher so when I graduate I'm not like oh shit what now. 😂😂 I pondered a bunch of different major but it felt to risky to me personally!
tony manko I live in a state with a teaching crisis. They literally have resorted to hiring people who don't have teaching licenses under the condition they get one in two years.
That vlogging scholarship is actually a really good idea
What's the song in the end slate? I love it so much but don't know what it's called or who it's by.
its so weird seeing u film the campus cause i went there for a church camp over the summer
Love circa waves ❤️
I loveeeee your outfit! Where's your jacket from?
Do u have a link to the trypod u shelby used to film orly on the stairs?
"what's that from?" "IT'S DONALD TRUMP" ahahahahah 😂😂😂😂
i was excited when i saw the title should've known
