Saw them in Dublin, last week, awesome but has to leave early to catch a flight and missed the Whale, but Amsterdam this Thursday I will see the end. My wife thinks I am mad, but this band changed my life, I listen to them constantly.
im a metal head and rock and roller, ive loved the decemberists for as long as i can remember. amazing band!!!
Stay away from magnets, young man. Seems a bit odd, but if your doctor is fine with it you'll be fine.
After all this time Red Right Ankle is so lovely 💜 thanks 89.3!!!

One of the best songwriters EVER. I always in awe.
He is my Bob Dylan. His lyrics resonate with my life experiences and emotions.
A friend and I loved show last night. Everyone shined onstage. Gaelynn Lea blew my mind. I was excited to catch her set because I heard her talent on NPR. She owned the stage solo and with her band. I'll see Lea or The Decemberists anytime I can. Both were truly amazing acts last night, and I love The Palace Theater. I went to several shows there over its inaugural year. It was an instant favorite venue. Also, thank you to The Current and The Decemberists for posting this show. One of the best souvenirs from the show.
This was an amazing concert experience! So glad I could attend. Colin's showmanship shines and Jenny stole the show with her talent!
Jenny's a real musician's musician. But she under-plays so much in this band - and in pretty much all her bands - that it isn't usually obvious how well and how much she can do.
Baribrotzer A sign of good musicianship is underplaying, though I don’t think serving the song is underplaying.
Okay
Who in hell could ever thumbs down this band? 40 sad people out there...
I was wondering the same, how could you come this far and then choose to 'not like' The Decemberists?
someone with no soul? no joy?
@@alanezuppa928 Presumably someone unable to grasp that an artist they admire - someone whose wit, empathy and creativity shines through in every word and every note they've written - doesn't share their fawning reverence for a politician without a shred of moral fibre or dignity who has brought ridicule on his country in the eyes of the world and set his fellow countrymen at each other's throats?
Anyone and everyone lacking the attention span to appreciate lyricism in music. Frankly on youtube that's a lot of ppl; and not discounting the effect of the medium and the internet itself.
Foolllllsssss
Dear Current, thank you for broadcasting this show! What a wonderful show.
Wonderful band Wonderful Show.
Must say that Ill Be Your Girl is some my best album I own.
Saved music now for almost 55 Yrs.
Thank yo so much for this.
I'm so glad I found this.
Was supposed to see them perform in August. I'll settle for this, for now.
Think everyone is dying for some live music again
RIP decemberists tour 2021
Saw them last week in Leeds and Manchester. So glad that this record is out there for me to enjoy. One of the great live bands.
One of the best concerts! I saw them in Geneva, NY back in April! I didn't want it to end!
I live in Spencerport, Ny . We saw them in Ithaca. We had a great time.
I love that Jenny added synth to Mariner’s song
Oh, my sweet soul enjoyed this so much! How much beauty!
They might be my new favorite band. Came here from The Dead Souths cover of Rox in the Box.
Just got back from the Red Rocks show. Simply phenomenal show. What an experience.
The people working the cameras don't understand what an amazing talent Chris Funk is.
I'm only 20 minutes in and I'm already frustrated about this!
I still like this set... been watching for months, strange times, odd lyrics perfect
Since seeing you all in SB, CA recently, this is almost as good as being there, it gives front row seats, that I didn't have...thanks from the bottom of my heart! So glad you are doing what is natural to you. It comes through brilliantly. Hats off!
I have just got the album and to my delite but not surprised it is a true gem x In my heavy rotation xx
Just came back from that. It was wicked
Jealous. That was an awesome set.
Mickey Rembiszewski a
Lucky!!
This band is so powerful live, way heavier than I expected
I saw them a few times late in the mid-late 2000s, they are such a fun live band!
Just watched them at the Edgefield last night. Such a great show
Excellent !!
Going to see them in Dublin all the way from Toronto. Very excited I just hope they play sons and daughters. Seems like they sometimes don’t
I only have one record by this band 'The King is Dead'. I just love it, they're so good!
Thank you for all of your continued experience, influence and thus guidance to benefit my quest to getting more consciously aware and in addition spiritually connected.
I did not understand a single word you wrote there....but whatever it was....go for it!
I've watched this or had it on in the background many times since the start of the CV. One of my favourite recorded gigs to escape and destress. Would like to take a trip to the US and take in a Decemberists show, hopefully sometime soon ✌🏻
one of the best bands ever
I really love their new album, I'll Be Your Girl, especially Rusalka Rusalka/ Wild Rushes. That song starts at 1:20:00
2021 - best thing I've seen this year
❤️❤️❤️
The Rox in the Box/Blackleg Minor sandwich was amazing, could listen to that all day, and have
Top and indeed, notch
Real good!
I saw them in Seattle, they didn't sing my favorite song. I still loved them live.
One day...many months ago..my British co-worker was playing them.... I asked him "who is that" he didn't really know. He checked and confirmed it was the Decemberists so, of course, I have to share all I know.
This is great classic rock stuff amazing.
So good
So good.
Saw them the next evening in Milwaukee.
It started with this weird In The Hall of the Mountain King and I was just already hooked. I fuckin' love these guys.
so good...
Love em❤
szuper szuper
Easily my favorite band...
Love Colin playing tricks on the band during Bagman
I know they're not the prettiest band in the world but please, someone turn the lights up!!
yeah, brilliance.
Go Nate!
genial
I love the sound of colins gretsch
Thank you to The Current for their hard work in live-streaming this, and archiving it for us to enjoy again and again! Don't let a couple of political sentences discount this 100+ minute show of one of my favorite bands on the planet. Surely we can come together for the music?
Agree!
His statements are true !
@@mikedrake7958 WAY AGREE !! THE DECEBERIST ROCK.
I wish the song titled big could be listed on the video
20:48
don't mind me, just hear for my weekly Make You Better shred-induced out of body experience
Sparkle PONY!
❤🌻🌻❤
this is awesome to get stoned with.
The Show.
It's like the accounting department coming out screaming 'we know numbers'
I thought they were Irish living in Belfast or Manchester or London and yes New York too.
Wisconsin alight I thought It was Nebraska
no 16 military wives? wha....? but they did Make Me Butter, so I'm ok.....
A+, wasn’t expecting Metallica level camerawork
What is the song they play to introduce the band
Wanted to see them last year but of course that blasted virus
Kelly Hogan
The Wild Rushes was amazing... OMG, thank you of December's tit.
where s my violine-girl?!
omg its the raggle taggle gipsy at 31:18
Once In My Life hits me every time. The video with Jacob, a mentally challenged friend of Colin, chokes me up every. Damn. Time. ruclips.net/video/bHFbaF9_kpI/видео.html
Nice but I miss the old colin meloy
he was cocky as hell at the show I went to. Couldn't get into it because of him. Sigh, they are still good musicians but I hear you
Is it just me or does the mix seem a bit off? Drums aren’t very punchy and his guitar tone is so thin. Oh well still an enjoyable watch! And love the new album.
Have you see The Decemberists' new music video for "Severed" ?! ruclips.net/video/ksTFj6L0mao/видео.html
Billy strings
This one not much in soul. But hey that's what live music is all bout.
Such an interesting English accent where is he from??
@@jrtully Lol to my ear it sounds like when Americans try to fake British accents.
I've heard enough
Ned Flanders
Everything is indeed, awful.
and now its worse
Seems like they must be partially burnt out from a combination of boring lame audiences of those whom only go to see them cause its the only thing to do in MN, the political climate which Colin commented most memorable on from this whole concert, and something else... Opiod Epidemic really taking off in early 2018 and maybe the silent creepy feeling that " Everything Is About To Be More Awful," than we have any idea of... Coronavirus? They made enough money by now, especially with the new cool wierd fun album. Not sure. Never enough 💰 money. Atleast there not pirates.

OMG you guys rock! Check out our song, "Join Us" by Bar Code Born. Look up Bar Code Born (songs: Join Us, Twisted Alibi, Reason/Season/Lifetime, Got a Lot of Feeling, Once In Awhile) ;) Thank you. Respected fan.
Loving the new album, and glad he is dealing with current disasters like the pathetic sexual predator man child currently disrespecting the position of POTUS.
geeze shut up
TheKnightWho SaysNi You are a moron, correct?
Two encores at a show with 2,000 people?
C'mon.
We're well past overdue for the next punk/grunge/garage rock flushing of the pipes.
No sons and daughters? Refund
I enjoy their albums but wow this singers pitch pretty bad live.
I will with respect disagree with that.
Not one song from their best album, Castaway and Cutouts. Jumped the shark, much.
Super talented and intelligent. Love this group. MAGA
Sadly, they are a spent force.
wow, completely disagree. Were you ever a fan?
I bet that the entire concert smells like beardwax and vape juice
could have enjoyed it better without the political commentary
The opening crowd baiting and annoying political stuff is childish buffoonery. Agree or not politically, have we lost the art of the great political song--see Phil Ochs etc. (jeez even Jefferson Airplane).
over your head. zoooooom....
@@marcs9538 Nice reponse. You are goodfor the environment soaking up all the garbage. On the otherhand you pay for it. So....lol
i wish that colin would chill out a little with his opinions on trump and all, like i'm not a huge fan of the guy either but you don't see me constantly raging about it
like i love the decemberists and all but still
The threat to the US and the world - short and long term - that he poses is actually so notable that there is no reason not to be "constantly raging" about ut,
Lol yeah George Washington 2.0 is such a big threat to humanity, we're all going to dieeee! Leftist exaggeration of imagined outrage and fake scandal always humors me. Or it would if it had not been for the unfortunate circumstance that tens of millions of them have the right to vote:P
Washington 2.0 may be an apt description, seeing that T-monkey expresses quite a few opinions which would have felt dated around 1810 or so... Then again, I understand Washington had a personality trait of not being able to lie, right? T-donkey has the exact opposite personality, is the comparison really appropriate?
Agree. This is childish over simplistic crowd baiting crap. I love good political song writing (whiter or not I agree with the singer song writer's views)--this ain't that. See Phil Ochs etc. Intelligent well written songs that actually have a chance to make listeners think. This is buffoonery.
@ChronicTown The imagined threat.
Nice way to lead with politics and divisive rhetoric. That’s ok I’m mature enough to still enjoy your music. Socialism aside. Not a Trump supporter incidentally but do believe in the right to own and protect myself and the people I love with whatever legal firearm I choose. Just like you have the right to speak out against it. Cheers.
Protect yourself from whom? Other gun owning Americans. You've been sold a myth.
tomb613 I always thought five years olds should be barred from RUclips.
Socialism?
He voiced his opinions about racism, presidents, corruption, and automatic weapons.
You can be socialist, communist, democratic (small "d") or sasquatch while holding all, some, or none of those views.
Colin Meloy isn't against gun rights. He's not leading with divisive politics, he's leading a rallying call against the man who is leading with divisive politics, Trump himself.
I love the Decemberists; they’re my favorite group. But really? 3 minutes in and we’re making it political?? I know they have political songs (military wives), but they’re a bit more subtle. I’d go to a show to *escape* that political BS... so I guess I won’t go to a show then?
ScreaminEmu Thanks for the warning. I moved to minute 10 and it worked fine.
Good. Stay home. Why do you feel the need to police artist’s words?
ScreaminEmu bye Felicia
Do you actually think 16 Military Wives is subtle? I always thought it was, like, extremely clear what it was about.
You're a great band and what most people like is to be entertained by performers, so save your political views for social media and stick to your craft.
