    It is very easy to plant succulents from cuttings. All you have to do is plant them in well draining soil and leave them to tend for themselves. In short, just leave them alone. What would make it successful is to remember WHAT NO TO DO. You do not water them for two weeks and do not expose them to direct sunlight. Succulents are drought resistant plants. They can thrive for months without water but can die in just few days of overwatering.
    In this video, you will learn how to plant the succulent cuttings directly in the soil without air drying. You need to follow some directions in order to be successful in growing succulents from cuttings. Enjoy!

    Your videos are the GREATEST! I used to only plant well-rooted plants as well, but I finally got brave and planted cuttings. They are truly miraculous when you see the resulting plant and realize how truly easy it is! These are the most beautiful, maintenance free (almost!) plants I've ever had! Many thanks for all the great information you give!

    I'm really glad I found your video. I directly planted my fresh cuttings a week ago but was worried they would just die as I had not let them heal over and yet to grow roots.
    Unfortunately I have been spritzing them with water.. I will stop that now and hope they don't rot.
    I love how many different colors you have.

    Your video was quite informative. I liked that it was short and sweet, as other commenters have said. I find that I'm getting more education from you on succulents than from any other source. I live in a humid summer environment, but I I've added a fan over where I put these succulents, so I'm hoping that that will help a little bit.

    Have always done well w few variations of succulents and always dreamed of having beautiful bigger mixes in pots so my project began last month

    We attempted propagation on several leaves only 5 actually worked but all the cuttings are thriving.
    Now I am starting on broken clay pot ventures w succulents cuttings next

    Thank you for this very helpful video! I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for planting succulent cuttings in hollowed out wine corks? It's a very popular craft, but I worry that it might not be a good environment for the little succulents.

    • @ChopstickandSucculents
      @ChopstickandSucculents  3 года назад

      The succulents will survive in very challenging environment like the wine corks. Because its not the ideal environment for their growth, it may become dormant in order to survive. You will not see much growth or it will not produce offsets.

      BASSIR Abderrazak start watering after around 2 weeks, do it once weekly and water them throughly, directly on the soil. Don't water them a crazy amount at first though. Make sure you have good soil that drains quickly though! If not it could cause rot, I recommend mixing some wood chips and gravel with your soil for good results.

    Thanks for the tips! I’m wanting to make a potted fairy garden using succulents. This video was great. Do these plants do well inside if they get window sunlight after they’re rooted? Since Oklahoma gets so humid in the summer I don’t want them to die. Is there a good place I can order a variety of colorful cuttings? Is there a type of soil and temperatures you recommend? Would they be ok outside if it’s cold out?

    • @ChopstickandSucculents
      @ChopstickandSucculents  4 года назад +1

      Heather Koronowski as long as it’s not below freezing, most of them will do well. But, it is best to look at individual plants and find out their light requirements and what temperatures they thrive best. Most of the colorful varieties will not so well indoors.

    very helpful, that assortment of cuttings was very nice, I bought an assortment, and they all looked like they came from exhausted plants, and many, many were duplicates, it was nothing like what I saw on here, also, is being in a green house considered away from direct sunlight, because there is a time during the day that they get about 3 hours of western sun, and I am not sure if being in a green house detours the intensity

    This video was really helpful, I have been trying to grow another succulent from cuttings but for some reason the cuttings always died and rot. Thanks a lot!!! Also, it would be helpful if you could show how to properly propagate those weird spiky hard succulents. Thanks

    Question, so i bought a succulent arrangement and the succulents are in sand, i accidentally knocked one off and noticed that they dont have roots. Should i consider planting them in soil so they can grow roots or will it happen even with the sand?

    • @ChopstickandSucculents
      @ChopstickandSucculents  5 лет назад

      JulieEdith they will grow roots even on top of paper towel. Plant them on well draining soil.

    I have a question mam..i bought some succulents and they were air dried before the plane shipped them to me..how manw days before I water them once i have planted them?and can i make cuttings from them immediately?even theyre not stable yet?

    • @ChopstickandSucculents
      @ChopstickandSucculents  6 лет назад

      Amar Valdez they might have calloused already during shipment. Because they are dehydrated, you can water them right away. Yes, you can cut some portions and plant them. Do not overdue .
