All plants should get some amount of trimming. I have pothos that I cut back every year. I have friends with pothos that only have a single vine and refuse to cut it, but wonder why there's no new vines. We need to remember that plants grow in nature and nature isn't always the nicest to plants. Almost every single plant in the world will grow more branches when cut back. This is the best way to get full plants. I'm loving these videos of yours. Keep making them!
We had a beautiful Pathos that covered the entire ceiling. We placed hooks and string to just support yet not hinder growth. It was about 15ftx10ft, all one pot. I would mix water and milk to keep it healthy.
Here in the Philippines, we grow Kalanchoe pink butterflies from the fallen pink plantlets. They have roots and they thrive very well on soil. But your kalanchoe have beautiful pink leaves, ours here have green leaves.
I just started collecting in succulents. I live in the city, in a condominium so I have limited space. But I am determined to make my place brighter and happier. 🍃🌿🌱🌵 💚 Thank you Ma'am for this
Wow.. Ur collection is beyond gorgeous.. really shows Ur dedication n understanding of these beautiful yet elusive(at least for me) species ..kudos to Ur hardwork...
I just subscribed!!!! I really have a thing for succulents....whereas before I thought they were just overrated....these guy's really are overlooked!!!!
Wow, you are an absolute succulent master! I am so impressed. Your arrangements are the most beautiful I have seen! But when I saw that pink butterflies I couldn't believe my eyes! Someone gave me a green mother of 1000 and it's a favorite of mine but I have never seen a pink one before. I must find a pink one now! Thank you for the inspiring video!
I'm convinced that cutting too long succulents will stimulate them to be fuller with so much new growth. When we see you do this, it looks so easy and failproof but as I was watching I was beginning to wonder where exactly to cut. How far down and when? Th you so much for letting us know that in your next video you'll cover these subjects.
I know it has been a year since you did this wonderful video! I so love my succulents 🌱🤗🌱🤗. I’ve learned so much about how to trim all my succulents 🌱. I still had to subscribe You are so smart and know much about trimming! I hope and can’t wait to see you go on and on. 😁👏🏼👏🏼🌱
Your garden is beautiful and artistic, I am just starting with plants my grandmother left and friends have given me, I will be watching and learning, thank you!
I need more videos! I love your videos I find them satisfying to watch, I have a very small collection that I started recently after investigating a lot about succulents, but still I love to watch this kind of videos, sorry for my broken English 🌵💕
You really have a good hands on the succulents ...thanks a lot for sharing all what u know about your plants ...am becoming more interested in succulents
Hi edagdwg thanks for sharing all these pretty plants love your work so nice yes they break love that plant so glad I found your story Linda j peace ❤️💯🦋🦋🦋🦋🌹🌹🌹🌈🌈🌈🐦🐦stay pray up 🐦🌈🌈🦋🦋🦋
So amazing...I luv it !!! So colorful and beautiful succulents .. I wish I will have more as well .. my problem is .. I’m here in the Southern part of America.. my succulents don’t survive during winter time .. I tried putting them inside the house but maybe because the temperature is cold they die
Love your videos 🌱🌿🌵😍 I've just got into growing succulents and I love the echeveria perle von nurnberg and loads of other echeverias. As I am new will you please do a video on growing echeveria indoors as I don't have a garden I'm currently using a grow light. Thanks John
I really really really like this vlog. I really appreciate your information I wish I had done this with several of mine. I do know now for the future. Thank you so much
Mam your vdo r more n more informative n full of entertainment. I enjoyed a lot by watching yr captivating clrful succulents. Thanks fr sharing such healthy n wealthy information.
Thank you ! Once again you have given me what I crave. Knowledge that I want and need to know, in a straight forward video only you seem to be able to deliver. Thank you Thank you!
Teresa, I love your videos! I live in SoCal too, and unfortunately my backyard faces west, so you can imagine that my succulents are NOT happy with this heat... Can you recommend which varieties tolerate afternoon sun the best? I don't think I made good choices when I selected my plants and I'd like to switch to hear resistant types. I also wanted to ask you about that shelf assembly you have for your plants. Was it custom made? It's awesome! Thank you in advance!!
Hi Anna! Yes, the shelves are custom made. I have fire sticks and crassulas that received sunlight all day and they are fine. Echeverias and some Aeonium varieties are a bit sensitive to sunlight. Those with thinner leaves cannot tolerate too much heat and prolonged drought. Those fleshy ones when stable can tolerate better but still depends on the variety.
Hi I just came accross on your succulent videos and watched a couple of them. I was inspired with your succulents arrangements as I was into the same project. Where are you located?
I have a question regarding growth rate of offsets. I would like to know if they will develop faster on the mother plant - or if it is better to separate them and grow them as individual plants? I'm trying to expand my collection and I'm new to succulents. Your youtube channel is one of my favorites and I appreciate the way you incorporate artistic and design elements into your work.
G2DU it is safer and yes, they would grow faster when they are with their mother plant. You have to let them grow a little bit, bigger than thumb size. Although it also depends on the variety of plant that you have.
I will use that as a 'rule of thumb' :) I was referring to Sempervivum varieties. Isn't it surprising and amazing how a gift of a succulent can so quickly turn into an obsession. Your guidance is greatly appreciated, as are your videos. Also, I now use a chopstick. Best regards.
G2DU yes indeed! Succulent hobby helped me a great deal emotionally. It has become like a meditation time for me when its only me and the succulents. It’s the best hobby for me so far. I’m happy to help others who want to learn too.
Your reply has helped me more than I can express here. My intention is to acquire enough stock to create mandalas using succulents and coloured stone. Perhaps this is ambitious for a beginner, however being rooted in meditation practice, I am always going to be the student. Suffice to say, many thanks for your inspiration.
I enjoy your videos very much. I used to not be a fan of succulents but I have come around to where I enjoy trying to propagate them and grow more. I do need your help on how to propagate a pearl succulent that is also kind of scraggly. Can you help me?
Lovely video and now I know so many of my mistakes. I have a question - I'd like to plant some succulents in a beautiful piece of old wood I found . I've watched videos that show them but not how to go about putting them into little nooks and crannies. Any advice would be most welcomed.
I trimmed my Kalanchoes because I heard that this will make them bushier, but nothing grew from that, so they now look worse than how they did before I trimmed them.
That flowery pink one!! Is there a more green one because I have a similar one but the leaves never got that large or pink. Some of the flower edges turned pink though. I had to cut the top off of the mother plant because it got infested with meal worms. But I noticed the flowers grow roots, fall off and begin new plants. One started growing leaves with tiny blossoms already.
How do you trim the cacti ones? Mine are growing upward out of control. I saw one found your channel and this is the second video i watch. I now know that they're not getting enough sun. I am going to move them but i need to trim them and i just don't know what to do... 😭
I want to make some mini fairy gardens and plant some succulents in the shallow bowl I'm making them out of. Is this a bad idea since there won't be much room to grow nor have drain holes?
Thanks Chopstick and Succulents. I have a green kalanchoe houghtonii. Is it possible to turn it into a pink varity from the present green type and how?
Hi there! Just found your channel and I love it! I have become a succulent lover but they keep drying, what am I doing wrong? I have each of them in dirt, and have also tried the special dirt for succulents only, and still they won't last much, any suggestion? Thanks! Blessings! 🌵
I have a jade plant.leaves r falling though new leaves r coming but lot of distance is there between leaves please suggest what to do . My plant is kept indoor
Do you own any Graptolum Paraguaynese succulents? If so could you inform me of any struggles you had with them and how you fixed it. Because I only am allowed to have one succulent and it only has 6 leaves left .The rest of them turned yellow and fell off.thank you so much

LZRD84 it is best to use small cuttings on those areas. I would add a bit of soil if possible.

Hi I love your videos, can my succulents live in the sun 25/7 I live in SoCal thanks
Succulents love the sun. But during summer, it is best to protect them when the heat is intense.
You have the prettiest voice :-)

It's a wonderful video. You've mentioned a pink butterfly types kalanchoe, is it the same sp. of kalanchoe houghtonii ( green variety) ?
Manojit Saha yes, it is!
Thanks Chopstick and Succulents. I have a green kalanchoe houghtonii. Is it possible to turn it into a pink varity from the present green type and how?
Try this method. It depends on your location too. ruclips.net/video/7xwXVWPs9Uw/видео.html
What climate are you growing outside? It us my understanding that some varieties will not grow through the winter in the Pacific Northwest.
Hi there! Just found your channel and I love it! I have become a succulent lover but they keep drying, what am I doing wrong? I have each of them in dirt, and have also tried the special dirt for succulents only, and still they won't last much, any suggestion? Thanks! Blessings! 🌵
Amiga k coisinhas mais lindas 👍👍👍bjs
Gracias!
How often do you water them and how can you tell if they need water?
April Waller when the leaves that are supposed to be plump are thinner, a little bit wrinkly. Do not water when they look so plump still.
Can succulents be grown in garden outside and how does the rain effect them pls
In areas that frequently rains, these plants should be protected. Build a canopy or a greenhouse for them.
U have amezing collection? In which city ur garden is?
You have a gorgeous collection of succulents! I saw a blue one in your video. Is it made blue by stress or is it another specie altogether?
Hi can I buy some off the your plant so beautiful
