To answer your question, I started working 1950's Playskool board puzzles as a toddler. I can't recall when I received my first "adult" puzzle but I remember the image was of a mother and daughter seated in front of a fireplace and the mother is brushing the daughter's hair. I wish I still had that puzzle. I have many wonderful memories of working jigsaw puzzles alongside my mother (who also loved puzzling) for decades. Now, that she has passed away at age 97, I think of her often but especially when I work a jigsaw puzzle.
Hi Maggie! I honestly cannot remember the first jigsaw puzzle I ever did, but I do remember receiving the Springbok puzzle "Just for Openers", as a gift from my Aunt and Uncle when I was in my teens. I'm not sure what year that puzzle came out - but it was a loooong time ago! The puzzle was a collage of keys over a gold background. I lost the puzzle over the years but found it again on eBay a few years ago and reacquired it. I'm really the only member of my family, other than my brother-in-law, that puts jigsaw puzzles together. I just love the hobby. It's my passion. :0)
I just bought this puzzle! I'm so excited to start on it! My first puzzle was Mickey Mouse and friends, but I didn't become addicted to puzzles until this year. I just counted 48 🙂
Hi Adeline! So happy to hear you bought this one! I LOVED IT!! I'm a big, big fan of the Galison brand and do TONS of their puzzles. Sounds like you are just starting your puzzle addiction and it's only downhill from here! LOL! I just counted my collection today and I own 904 puzzles!! Keep watching because I plan on doing a video of my jigsaw puzzle storage room, and it is really something to see! Thanks so much for commenting! :0)
i am 29 years old, i only started doing jigsaw puzzles a few months ago, i did 9 puzzles so far and i ordered 3 more puzzles today!, once you start you just can't! stop xD
I love your review of Gallison Puzzles. I agree with you 100% about the quality of their jigsaw puzzles. As a huge fan of Susan Herbert's art where she reinterprets famous paintings with cats, I snapped up Gallison's Birth of Venus, Luncheon of the Boating Party, and The Arnolfini Marriage. I have my eye on Tribuna of the Uffizi next. I also purchased Gallison's Houseplant Jungle. Although I prefer random cut pieces, I will gladly buy a high-quality Gallison puzzle with the standard ribbon cut.
Hi Maggie! I *love* the Galison brand. The images are wonderful and the quality is top-notch. I also prefer random cut but I'm happy with ribbon cut as well. Thanks for your comments! :0)
I have a lot of Galison puzzles (currently 25) and Cat Zodiac is my favorite so far. It made me so happy while I was working on it. I can remember putting puzzles together at 6 or 7 years old, but I don't know how old I was when I got my first one.
Hi Rhonda! I'm a BIG Galison fan. They have a LOT of puzzles to choose from and also really great artwork. I've been puzzling for many, many years now and I'll probably be in the midst of puzzling when I kick the bucket! Thanks for watching and commenting! :0)
I cannot tell you how perfect your videos are!!!!!!!!!!!!! I so look forward to following you.... I love you show the prices, & where to purchase the puzzle. I love the questions. I love its short and very sweet... great puzzle choice... I will check out Galison... so far I have liked Ravensburger best, but they do not have a poster and not always images I like.. I am like you that I love bright bold colors.. How many have I done... NOT ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kathylynn!! You have made my day with your wonderful comments!! Just what I needed to hear to keep me going. Please do give Galison a try and let me know what you think. And keep putting them together!! 😋
Hi Stacy! So happy you liked the Galison puzzle! I really like the brand. Love their super-cute images and the fact that they have a HUGE selection! Thanks for your comments! :0)
I couldn't begin to guess How many puzzles I have done I started a very long time ago. there are so many more brands now then when I started. This was a nice review. I have done a Galison and really enjoyed it.
Hi Laverne! I agree with you - so many brands out now! During COVID there were a ton of new brands launched - I LOVE that there are so many to choose from! Thanks for your comments! :0)
I couldn't even tell you how many I have done, but there have been a lot. There are so many more on my to-do list as well. I have only completed a couple of Galison brand ones, but I have liked them.
Hi Pam!! I've done thousands of puzzles, and I plan on doing as many as possible before I leave this planet! I really love the Galison puzzles - love their artwork so much, and the pieces are really good quality. I tend to buy pretty much all the 1000-piece Galison puzzles when they come out - I'm addicted! :0)
Great review. No idea how many puzzles I've done. Last year (2022) I did 220. I don't remember my first puzzle but I distinctly remember two Springbok puzzles from my childhood - one was a panorama with several kittens lined up, and one was flamingos standing in lots of blue water. Now I avoid animal fur and prefer illustrations. 😅
Hi there! You put 220 puzzles together in 1 year??? That is *OUTSTANDING* !!!! How many have you done so far this year? I've done 77 so far. I hope to do a LOT more before the year is out. Stay tuned!! :0)
@Persnickety Puzzler so far this year I've completed 57 (45,000 pieces). I tend to do a lot in January and February when the weather is cold and dreary. March to May not so much, tend to be really busy with work. And then July and August I usually puzzle a lot ( too hot and too many bugs).
Your videos have nice music. I pick my RUclips puzzlers based a lot on accompanying music... because I like to puzzle alongside the videos. It's a beautiful puzzle. You do a great job explaining the brand. How many puzzles have I done? Good question. I didn't start keeping track until three years go... and so far since I started picturing my completed puzzle... I have 180 in my portfolio. And I don't remember my first puzzle.
Hi Ruby: Thanks for the kind words. When I make the videos I really try to find music that doesn’t bore me to tears - and a lot of the royalty-free music is just plain awful. I’m picky so it often takes me some time to find something I like but it’s worth it in the end. I hope you’ll continue to watch as I’m just getting started! 😋
We're a fan of Galison. The first one we did was a little hard because of the image, but the second one had more clues so it was easier to put together. :) We're hoping to get more, but we have so many puzzles on our to-do list.
Interested to hear that you started puzzling at the age of 10. I was that age when I received my first adult jigsaw which was a Crown puzzle called The Italian Lake. I have no recollection of doing any jigsaws before the age of 10 but I may have done so. I keep a list of jigsaws so that I can avoid buying one that I have already done. Currently working on Ravensburger's Seaview Lane, part of their Down the Lane series.
Hi there! I wish I had kept a list of all the puzzles I completed up to now but when you are young you don't think of things like that. I just started tracking the puzzles I complete this year. Can't wait to see how many I put together by the end of the year! Thanks for your comments. :0)
Great start on your new channel. Very well done and produced. With regards to your question, I have no idea how many puzzles I have done in my entire life. I only started keeping track of the puzzles I completed since February 2022. So, last year (since February) I did 148 puzzles for a total of about 112 000 pieces. So far in 2023 I have completed 41 puzzles for a total of about 47 100 pieces. I expect to have fewer puzzles done this year because I have several giant puzzles on my list.
Thank you so much! You managed to put quite a few puzzles together last year and it looks like you are going to put even more puzzles together this year! Keep watching as I plan to produce many more videos! :0)

They are at the Dollar tree now for $1.25. I brought 6 of them.

@@danish_puzzler Well I can't wait to hear your total for the year. Let's compare notes at the end of the year. :0)

I'm a big fan of the art on Galison puzzles. I just love it. I *cannot* resist their puzzles when they are on sale. So many puzzles, so little time!!
Seems pretty flawless
I enjoyed your review on galison puzzles. I would love to see you review Jacarou puzzles.
Thanks Victoria! I can definitely review Jacarou puzzles in a future video. Thank you for the suggestion! :0)
My first puzzle was a wooden puzzle with maybe 20 pieces with little nubs on them to help tiny child hands hold the pieces. I was probably 4.
Wow! The fact that you can remember that is amazing! :0)
I don't know how many puzzles I have done overall, but I kept track last year, and in 2022 I did 156 puzzle with a total of 87148 pieces 😆
OMG!!! That is a *TON* of puzzles!!! I am *SUPER* impressed!! I hope I can come close to that mark this year. Keep up the good work! :0)
