I love it when Karen says "I have so much data!" It's so exciting to see your spreadsheet and all your stats! Thanks for sharing the spreadsheet on Patreon too. I did 70-ish puzzles last year, but didn't keep track officially so I don't know the exact number or piece count. Looking forward to using the spreadsheet you shared this year!

I set a goal of doing 100 puzzles in 2022 and I met that goal! You were a big inspiration in that, Karen. I thrifted a lot of my puzzles and learned how to pick out the good from the bad pretty quickly. I usually then would sanitize them, make sure they had all their pieces, and leave them in the little free public libraries around my neighborhood. I like the idea of puzzles getting a new life and being passed on to more people who will enjoy them.

if you were to stack over 100,000 cardboard puzzle pieces up one by one, that would conservatively weigh about a ton and a half in American customary units, which I'm pretty sure would cause each piece to be flattened below a certain point in the stack, and depending on a number of environmental factors, might cause the ones at the very bottom of the stack to explode and/or catch fire eventually.

Guess made at 33 seconds. About 220. Will find out when your video has finished. Well I got that wrong then! 🙄I do have a spreadsheet but not in the same format as yours. It is just a list of all the jigsaws that I have bought which I started in 2016. I do make a note of when I buy a jigsaw and I see that I bought 285 jigsaws in 2022, rather more than I realised! 😮 However I won't have actually done that many so probably about 200 maybe more. Depends on the piece count and difficulty. I'm currently working on the 1000 piece Candy Hearts Impuzzible from All Jigsaw Puzzles which I know will take me longer than usual. I am also retired so have all day to do jigsaws if I wish. On checking I see that I took photos of 130 jigsaws last year but I don't take photos of every single jigsaw I do. Look forward to the next video. 😊

My guesses, 208 (4 per week) puzzles, 208,000 pieces (avg 1000 pieces per puzzle).
    Spreadsheet
I don't keep stats as such. What I do is sort my puzzles on the shelf by whether I think they are "re-do worthy." I force myself to stay within my shelf space (one large Billy Book Case with a top extender from Ikea). So . . . it only makes the shelf if it I think I will work the puzzle again.
Other puzzles I trade when our library has a puzzle exchange or I sometimes sell them on Ebay usually in groups by brand.

I did keep track of how many puzzles I did during 2022 in a spreadsheet. I put 18 puzzles together, with a total of 16,000 pieces. Interestingly enough, Peter Pan was one of the puzzles I worked on (the 500 version, sold in a box of four) and it was one of my favorites I put together - LOL!

I don’t keep track of my puzzle solving…really not worth it to me, but off the top of my head, 6-10 puzzles, 500-1500 pieces. I’ve done every single puzzle in my collection at least once since I got them.
I’m in a stitchy mood currently, I don’t track all my stitches (I despise counting stitches), but I know I did well over 40k stitches. (36k on 1 project, unknown on others.) I’m only counting on the one project because otherwise I just never touch it. So I math how many stitches per day I need to reach a goal and try to at least reach that. It’s not foolproof, but it’s keeping me somewhat motivated. Other projects languish because I’m asked to make time sensitive gifts occasionally. But right now no project is over 10 years old so I’m not doing too badly…
I use goodreads to keep track of my books. Not in a book mood currently, but some years got a lot of pages in. Last year was 13 books, my highest year was 283 books. I probably burned myself out a bit that year lol.
I want more diamond paintings, but the cost of the ones I like are too much…and I’d never get anything else done lol. I’ll keep watching for good sales though…
I need to take my Camelot puzzles down & put them away. But first I need to meet this stitchy goal!

I did 40 puzzles with a total of 36600pcs. I did mostly 500 and 1000pc puzzles and most of them were Ravensburger (18) and cloudberries (14).
I did however also work a full time job and had a huge break at the start of the year of about 3 months where I was stuck on one very hard puzzle and did some video games instead.

1:12 "I solved one hundred and twenty one puzzles last year! Now.... I feel like that isn't actually *that many*?"
But 365 days divided by 121 is like, you did one puzzle per three days on average! Thats bonkers!

The video made me think about what makes a good puzzle. A bit too much for a spreadsheet, but maybe something to think about when reviewing puzzles. Here is my list of criteria:
    Quality
    - print: high quality print regarding both details and colors
    - cut: uniquely shaped pieces that fit together neatly
    Creativity
    - art: the motive is beautiful, meaningful artwork with attention to detail (puzzles are about details after all)
    - interesting: there is something to the puzzle that makes you want to try it, is engaging, or otherwise speaks to you
    Fun to do
    - difficulty: the difficulty is consciously manipulated, challenges are there on purpose, usually uniform areas are made easier by adding visual cues.
    - enjoyable: the puzzle works well on the scale of individual pieces, there is a nice flow, such as a veriety of sections that are fun in different ways
So far, my highest rated puzzles are "Elefant in Masai Mara National Park", "The Madhouse", and "Circle of Colors - Fruits and Vegetables" (all from Ravensburger).

At the start of lockdown (I''m in the UK) I started keeping a spreadsheet with all the puzzles I did, but unfortunately did not manage to keep it up. Having seen your video I am starting again and hope to log all my puzzles over 2023. Looking at your stats it seems we probably have similar percentages of large and small puzzles, but when it comes to sources most of mine are from charity (thrift) shops.
But my most common jigsaw company by far is Gibsons, followed by Ravensburger then Corner Piece.
