Love your presentation. Very well described and informative. I have been doing puzzles since I am 5 years old. Now 77. I did the Peter Pauper gems puzzle. Spectacular. Glued and framed. My favorite brand is Galison, especially the gold foil ones. I love the fantastic artwork. The fit is great and I have 3 done now, glued and ready for frames. I just started the Feathers foil one. Pieces are easy to pick up and for the most part fit great.
I used to do 3000 piece puzzles but too old now for that so I stick with 500-1000.
    Happy puzzling. 🤗

I don’t buy Eurographics. The art is gorgeous but the pieces are all “twos” and I can’t deal with it. I do like Galison and they are also all twos, but they don’t annoy me for some reason.

I just replied to another commenter who mentioned the number of ins and outs - I’ve never noticed this being a brand characteristic. I want to start making note of this!!
Interesting. Maybe Galison’s cut is more precise? I find there’s not many false positives with them

I may have to try the Owen Jones that came in as your 2nd place. I came close to getting the pomegranate cake one as I also loved the illustration but thought it would be too hard. Very helpful and fun to hear all 4-5 aspects of ea puzzle and you were consistent on that..( Quality, design/art, level of difficulty, matt vs shine and weather or not poster included) Cavallini has a 500 pc Valentine puzzle out .. I ordered that. Oh and I haven't got their circus puzzle but I've got my on that one . I did the Bees and Honey, just glued it today. Going to hang in kitchen 😊🥳happy new year!

Hey Katie!! Yes, the cakes one was a bit hard in all the white space at the top. Love that Bees and Honey one, I’m sure it will look gorgeous wherever you put it 🐝 Happy New Year to you as well

Very enjoyable. I checked this out cuz it was one of the few to mention Aquarius puzzles. I'm working on a Where's Waldo puzzle by them currently with a bizarre cut-you end up placing sorta normal looking jigsaw pieces at awkward diagonals, it's full of triangular pizza cut-looking pieces... Yours seemed a lot more standard in piece shapes, but equal in crummy piece quality.

Hi I was doing the puzzle Where The Wild things Are and got frustrated. All the inside pieces are the same. Have you tried that one yet, if so let me know. It's very frustrating to me.

Like the first commenter, I avoid brands with only two ins and outs pieces. I like more variety because I worry about pieces seemingly fitting where they don't belong. Surprised to hear about Aquarius. I don't think I've yet heard such a scathing review. I thought about doing a 3000 piece from them, but I saw that the middle lines up improperly. NOPE. I would recommend Heye, Ravensburger, Wasgij and Buffalo Games to you (probably would have to go through Amazon for them but they have lots of fun, colorful designs). Favorite puzzles this year? Needlework by Ravensburger and Fairy Tales by Heye.

I’ve never thought about the ins and outs like that wow, never really noticed it by brand either haha. I’ll start making note of that. Yeah, maybe I got a bad copy from Aquarius but the puzzle was very frustrating. I like Ravensburger, absolutely enjoyed “One Dot at a Time” by them. Will check out the other three, hadn’t even heard of Wasgij!
      Great picks. Thanks for sharing!

@@victoriaboult2754 Wasgij is new to me as well! I just tried a Christmas edition, which includes two puzzles in the box and I'm working on another currently. I'm very impressed with the quality of the pieces. They're very thick and pick up incredibly well so you can move them around very easily. The only trouble is that you have to be extra careful taking it apart so you don't get image lift and, sometimes, pieces fit where they shouldn't, but the right ones are easily found, in my experience.

I find it so interesting that you've had such terrible luck with eurographics puzzles. I'm doing my very first one(makeup palette) and the pieces are sturdy, matte finish, great fit and I can't pick up and move around larger sections. I was very surprised that the eurographics you showed had glossy pieces!

Thanks for sharing! I love the prints on galison but the one I got was poor quality - the print was lifting off of the cardboard pieces and they were flimsy :(

I actually haven’t! I’m not super into Heye’s art style but I keep hearing good things so I should try for myself soon! Art and Fable looks more my taste 👀 I need to do a haul….. !

@@victoriaboult2754 my thoughts also on Heye but there are a couple movie set ones like Tarantino, Spielberg where there are different movie sets in the puzzle to find, which I haven't done . And one more thing since we do have similar taste . Grateful House has one called Welcome Back u may like , reviews say great quality, poster and poster card and no cylindrical box. I've not done one but just ordered. I have heard that Ravensburger has a krypt gradient, pretty colors out in UK and will be available in States soon FYI. 😁

i did the vincent van gogh eurographics last year, it was my first eurographics and i hated it. my mom got me this kandinsky from the fine art series and the pieces were SO matte and satin and luxurious. it felt like ravensburger almost. i did it 3 times because it was so fun!
anyway my point is, they are hit or miss but just like with that planet puzzle... when eurographics hits, THEY HIT

I also don't get why Galison gets reviewed so poorly. Like yeah they're a little plasticky but the fit is good and their art variety is lovely.

I agree. Live Galison especially the foil ones. I have 3 glued waiting to frame and just started one called feathers which is a foil one. 😊
