- Hey everyone, welcome to Sonic Station! And today is one of the most awaited days for many Sonic Mania fans! Through the insane works of Troopsushi and Zoe the Fox, today I present you Sonic Mania Plus - Extra Slot Amy! The concept is simple: Amy has a brand new character that DOES NOT replace anyone and is both playable in Mania Mode and Encore Mode! Amy has her own unique moveset with a Heli Hammer move similar to the one featured in Sonic Forever 1.5 update, a hammer smash like the one in the Sonic Advance series (even featuring its own custom button) and a Hammer High Jump that can be used both standing and while running! There are many other things to be seen like custom animations, easter eggs, special and blue spheres stages and EVEN a Amy & Amy mode but I leave that for the video! Hope you enjoy it!!!

It honestly makes no sense to me that Sega never actually added Amy as a playable character in Sonic Main when she totally should have been, the mod looks absolutely awesome it looks so damn official, great job!
I personally wish she was in the game, would’ve added more replay value to (imo) the best Sonic game.

Really wish SEGA wouldn't have stopped expanding on Sonic Mania.
Instead of making Origins, they could have banked on a "Mario Maker"-esque community level maker, Sims-like modding system and room for expansions. The Sims as a franchise is living proof that if you allow for expansion packs and huge freedom for modding, you'd be able to upkeep (and sadly milk...) a game for at least a decade.
Given how there can be infinite Blue Spheres levels, why not infinite Sonic levels? Make a rogue-like out of the game for crying out loud lol.
Sadly, whilst randomly generated levels or events sound cool, not many games have done it succesfully...though I think Sonic is a damn good franchise for a concept like this.

Her running animation is adorable. Incorporating her midair Hammer swing and hammer jump from the Advance Trilogy is sweet.
But yeah, never understood why SEGA and the Mania/Origins crew was so damn hesitant to put her in either game despite her already having the blueprints from.the Advance Trilogy, AND making her promanant in the last Origins cutscene.

Yeah honestly it's one of my greatest disappointments I honestly dunno what Sega has against Classic Amy this would have been a great way to Introduce her as a character to play but we don't get her in either Mania plus or Origins like seriously?
I hope the poor lass gets some recognition in future installments one can hope she'll be in a addition in future mania game's or vice versa 😞

Man I wish Amy was part of Mania Plus from the get-go. Giving her the Time Stones was a pretty nice touch, though Super Amy would still be nice. And honestly wish she was a bright cyan or yellow (maybe even pink gold or rose gold) instead of green. Still, it just makes no sense SEGA left Amy out. And I still wish she was playable in Sonic Origins alongside Metal Sonic too.
There is no Super Amy because Takashi Izuka stated only male hedgehogs can get super forms...

I honestly hope they continue that Super Knuckles canon and hopefully someday or in the DLC for frontiers they will mention Super Tails but yeah i always hated that Izuka said only male hedgehogs could go Super which kinda doesn't make sense given the current lore of the Emeralds
This is awesome! Amy is my favourite playable character in Sonic Advance and I'm always happy to see her brought to new 2d games. Hopefully in the future they can make her play more like Sonic Advance by giving her the side hop and mid-air hammer swing, though I've no idea about if that's even possible with Mania modding.
I think the biggest problem is accomodating her abilities to the level design

If you told me this was an official DLC I would believe you. This mod is so polished and professional looking! Incredible work by the creators, I can tell a lot of time and effort went into this.
Origins should’ve had Amy along with Ray and Mighty as extra characters (along with Knuckles in CD)

i think the best way they could implement amy in a classic-style sonic game is to basically just give her a powered-up version of the insta-shield with her hammer, i feel like that'd be so fun without adding too many complications to the one-button playstyle

Given that Amy has now been in origins and superstars, I hope that they make an update to Mania to make her playable, and since it leaked that mania plus is coming to mobile, it might be good time to do such a thing like this to get both new and old players of the game to play it
Considering Evening Star has been working on their own game and how long it has been since Sonic Mania released I would not expect that

Since I learned about Amy had two quite different iterations, I really like the one initial. THAT ONE!. Though she was given her hammer now, but it's okay... We could not gave her a crossbow, do we? LOL
ngl if there's was ever a dlc of any in sonic mania with a few added levels plus a new backstory to it I'll probably buy it in a flash! anywho great job to who ever made this mod I hopefully think that this mod will get some unique stuff to it in the future for now great job y'all!! can't wait to see what's in store for the future!

The ending cutscene is a work of mine. I am aware it is not the best as I am pretty bad at doing these things, however I hope that we can get some professional help in the future to fully realize it!

Wow they gave her an actual spin dash unlike the other one I saw she just did a spin dash that is literally a peel out ability along with her being a ball when she jumps instead a hammer ability

Very cool! The only thing I will say is that having zero startup time on the high jump looks a little bit weird. There should maybe be a short animation before she goes flying off. That's pretty nitpicky though, overall this is an amazing mod!

Video starts at 1:26 because as usual, idiots feel the need to stay on the menu for a LONG time and needlessly select everything on the main menu without clicking on it before playing. 1:26 is like an entire ending credits sequence wow...
Maybe it is that or maybe it is a matter of respect and showcasing all the work that is made in the mod including the sprite work made in the menus that is really good. Probably certain idiots that think a mod is just gameplay won't understand that, but that is expected...also it is not like I have timestamps for people to see when gameplay starts...either way have a great day!

A couple of questions, first does this work on the Wii U or PS Vita decomps? I sort of got the one where she replaces Mighty to work but you still get his moveset instead, and 2 can you share your edited ending cutscene?

This is honestly pretty amazing to see, especially all of the well-fitting sprite work and modeling; that's the most impressive to me. My only quibble from the gameplay shown is that she still has the spin attack and spindash, I'm hoping to see a "hammer only" variation in the future.
I feel that this is hard to do because of how the game is coded, and even then the game was not made with her gameplay in mind.
The game literally cannot be beaten without the spindash

@@SonicStation I guess that explains why it's pretty hard to install the mod. It's not the usual "install mod and mod loader" type of mod. When I tried to do that, Amy doesn't show up (I got Mania Plus).
I'm guessing a Steam mod isn't easy make with the stupid DLL.
Yes, this is a lot like those rom hacks of Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Chaotix where they replace a character with a different one (e.g: Shadow, Sally Acorn, etc.), but here they just add one instead 😃

Though I guess the reason Classic Amy isn’t playable isn’t because she was never playable before in last games yet I’m sure they made new sprites for everyone.
Could be the Sonic Bible where Classic Amy cannot be playable or whatnot. Whatever the reason glad she’s playable and doesn’t take a slot.
Interesting I like how she uses the Hammer to slow her descend and attack. Clever usage.
Though she feels incomplete when that high jump which I assume is where she hits her hammer to the ground to boost herself into the air.
I still think Sonic Advance 1 is her best gameplay, but this is a close second and all the details that went into making her sprites is amazing.
I like to know how did they make the 3D model for the Special Stages. What program did they use? Blender?

How do you install the mod? I placed it in the mod folder but I don't see the extra slot. Just Amy assist and Sonic/Amy skill in options.
Damn that hammer jump come sout quick, if you didn't know you wouldn't be able to tell she's hitting the ground.
It would be even better if she could _only_ destroy badniks with her hammer, because the whole reason for why she even has it is because she's not as strong as the others
I understand where you come from and in a sense I share the same opinions as you do, however it is not that easy. This is done through modding a 5 year old game and mods are still not perfect for it. At the same time there is a huge game to accomodate the moveset characteristics for and probably that would be impossible to do as Mania was not made around those abilities. Finally that would create some unfairness between characters which I think is against the main point of the game to begin with.
I liked the Mod, it just doesn't make sense for Amy Rose to have her Super form green, because in fact she would also be yellowish/golden! But if they did it like Knuckles, which is a salmon pink or clear pink, it would be more acceptable!😉👍🏼🍀🇧🇷🇺🇸
Guess it is time to give a brief explanation to the color of Amy's super form. First and foremost this form is not called Super Amy, but rather Miracle Amy. This is a fan-term for a supposed transformation that Sonic could attain if he collected and mastered the use of the 7 time stones. This form was made Magenta. Since the 3 primary colors are Cyan, Yellow and Magenta and the last 2 were taken by Sonic, the color that is left is Cyan. Also Cyan is a direct reference to 2 other facts. The first custom colored super form made in a mod was Cyan color for Mighty which originally was the character replaced by Amy and there is only one more female hedgehog that was acknowledged and relevant in Archie Comics post Reboot and TV Shows like The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Her name is Breezie the Hedgehog and she is Cyan color. She has a connection with cards, Classic Sonic and Honey the Cat which by extention connects with Amy, thus making a full circle of connections.
Finally, I know you are going to ask: Why not Super Amy? According to Takashi Izuka in an interview he stated only male hedgehogs can attain the Super Form
@@SonicStation Plus, the greenish edge to the Cyan keeps the opposite colour theme that's maintained with Super Sonic (Blue to Yellow), some Super Shadows (Black to off-White), etc.
