for a start i am an ex army veteran .(retired , disabled as to service ) . i joined knowing the concequences . the problem nowadays is compensation culture . you put the radio or tv on and you get adverts for , HAVE YOU OWNED A DIESEL CAR and so on . claim claim claim . athletes have problems in later life with joints .same with all sports . footballers ,cricketers . half the problem are the solicitors who are making a bloody fortune out of this . whatever you get the solicitors get a hell of a chunk of your piece of cake . there wont be any sports in the future , because of this culture .
Its not about ending sport, it hasnt been as of late that concussions mental health have been talked about and still is treated as a taboo subject...players have lives to live after sports, no one wants to be a vegetable after their sporting career.

Wonder how boxing compares?
I've done both ..boxing is way worse as far as harder hits. Football is worse as far as hits are lower impact again and again
