I'm a canal paddleboarder and I've got a phobia of fish that I'm starting to get over, great video, very informative and I love the respect you give the fish, I'd never believe that they are so unharmed and actually better off in some sense like with the leeches after you clean them off and put them back.
Hands down the most knowledgable, useful intro to a pike fishing video for anglers. Common sense, observationand experience, well explained without the nonsense. Cheers!
Always a treat watching your uploads mate. I can see from your subscriber figures that there are a great many people who now continue to look forward to your regular pike fishing adventures. Keep it up Chris as there is always something new for a bloke like me to learn. Best wishes
Sadly, as an armchair angler tase days, your films are so well made and remind me of many decades gone by. A newcomer to your splendid site, but will enjoy your back catalogue (much!) and those of 2023. Hope you and yours had a fine Christmas and enjoy the 2023 you deserve. VBW x
For big lures, you could try Bomber. All I use for pike and damn... Also, your videos are extra super. Love watching. So relaxing, so enjoyable. You go, ginger!
Chris, I absolutely love your enthusiasm and you get excited so quick with fishing. I love watching you and learning what to do when fishing. I live in the USA in West Virginia we have large Pike and large Musky here also. Stay safe my friend.
Season greetings mate as always great fishing and really appreciate you taking the time to explain your water craft and how you approach things more of this please really helps.
Ginger fisherman (Chris) what a great video again. It's very unusual for me to watch someone videos 2,3,4 or 5 times. But yours I love. Snagged bro, Alex and his brother are red hot too. Sea fishing videos fish locker John is brilliant and TA Fishing.... Congrats to all you RUclipsrs...
Great video and especially loved the breakdown of what you're doing and why. Would love to see more breakdowns of other catches / species / seasons etc
on all lures like the hooksetup i like these the most, easy to apply to the lure, and easy to release from the fish as well, only 1 thing i slightly dont like on these setups is that it rips it out the lures. and making a big hole in it. but good to see these pikes again. i know its the best time to fish pike but i will wait after the paring season.
Top video and very informative, to a novice like myself all tips are greatly appreciated and taken on board keep them coming top man. All the best for the new year.
When your soft bait gets heavily damaged, you can use a solder iron to mend it. Together with treble hooks attached to your bait with pins this will save a lot of baits and a lot of money.
Fished all these exact places when I was a lad..marina, common, old mill, willows, whit Sunday pie. Never saw fish this big though.. 👍 Y'all take care now Simon
Another awesome 👌 video Chris.....that Pike engulfed that 25cm McPike! Proper choked it, just shows like you said at this time of year Pike want a big meal to then sit dormant and let it digest. 🐊🎣💯💥👍
Got to say great video close to my hart I do a lot of canal pike fishing my first full session this year started a year ago this December and chanels like this one got me into it so thanks
Awesome, thanks for that information. I’m living in Finland and everywhere is iced up. First season fishing properly last season and I wasn’t sure when they will be active again or what they’d want 🤷♂️
Hi mate How do You find the Spike net after using it for a while? Im thinking about buying a new net and this one looks good. Just not sure if the size is big enough but it sure works for You. I dont like to cary the huge 80+ cm nets .
Really enjoy your videos, thanks for the entertainment made me feel guilty about not getting out there. Wish we had more canals around here in Chichester West Sussex
Fishing for pike in town is something I can only dream of. So far, the biggest (and I hate to admit only) pike I've caught was 37" and 10lbs. It was an oddball, to be sure. Something had taken a big chunk out of its back, a few inches behind its head, but it had healed. Funny thing was the way it healed, it made it look like it had shoulders.🤣
From one ging to another ging happy new year love your vlogs I used to do pike fishing at a pub in Pangbourne but now I'm disabled finding it hard to get out but your vlogs are giving me some hope to get back out on the bank regards John
Niiiiice ! That 14 pounder was a bute! I have a question though please. I've never used a baitcaster reel but I got myself a Lixada at the bootfair for £15 this year. Have you done or could you do a brief tutorial on how to set them up please. Cheers Gary
Hi chris, I’m new to canal fishing but have been going commercials for some time, i’ve been down to the leeds liverpool canal a few times recently and no luck, just using some cheap shads and floaters i got off ebay, do you have any tips in terms of recommendations for lures, and any techniques? Any lures/baits that do best this time of year? Cheers
Hi Chris, had your channel recommended to me - best tip on a while. Like the links to your gear too. On the Pike - trace or no trace and if yes what poundage? Thanks
Best fishing RUclipsr hands down. Best knowledge, best technique. You deserve a million subs, more even.
For sure the best pike and perch angler I’ve seen on this website
Definitely pal he's been doing since RUclips started as well!
Thanks buddy much appreciated🙏

Love how you explained how you'd rather lose the fish than it being injured by the hooks
What a great session!! Top man Chris, best angler on RUclips 🎣🎣
Hands down the most knowledgable, useful intro to a pike fishing video for anglers. Common sense, observationand experience, well explained without the nonsense. Cheers!

Just read the comments Chris, you should be well. Proud of yourself. Honestly keep doing exactly what you doing it’s great 👍🏻
Everyone is far too kind!
Pike look like the sort of fish that would fight harder than they do
Always a treat to experience your video content. Technique notwithstanding, great releases.

Brilliant absolutely Brilliant Ginger! Hungry Pike!Great video M8👍1love💛
You're so fortunate to be living in England. There is so much variety to the freshwater fishing there.
Fantastic view points of netting a lightly hooked fish, not many who would rather lose a fish over fish care. Awesome 🎣
Thanks buddy
Season greetings mate as always great fishing and really appreciate you taking the time to explain your water craft and how you approach things more of this please really helps.
Done a lot of fresh water fishing but never tried my hand at Pike fishing, Your video's are really making me want to give it a go. Excellent footage.

Chris been on fire! 🔥 Top fishing bro!
Well done putting away the net and landing that pike with your hand!
Looks like a crackin day. I only use 10 - 15 inch flies this time of year. wee bit tougher to cast but very rewarding. Keep up the good work. Cheers
Awesome video mate really enjoyed it
When your soft bait gets heavily damaged, you can use a solder iron to mend it.
Together with treble hooks attached to your bait with pins this will save a lot of baits and a lot of money.
I sometimes heat up a knife to repair my soft baits, but most of the time I'm lazy and just use super glue 😂
Happy Christmas and new year to you chris and all your fans
Top angling as usual! Raked by the gill plates I see on the big double! Happens to the best of us it seems!
Fished all these exact places when I was a lad..marina, common, old mill, willows, whit Sunday pie. Never saw fish this big though.. 👍
Y'all take care now
Simon

Good stuff Chris 👍🤜
Good show 👏
The mcpike is a great bait. and if you can you should test a Pig shad. The pig shad is also a great bait. Love the pike fishing. BTW from sweden
I just thought the last 4 times was bad luck but the temperature does explain it! Good video
God's were looking down on that beast cracking vedio pal

Mate thank you so much for all the information. Still new to finish so no wonder I haven't caught any pike past couple weeks haha. Great video
Nice video again! Gliders are working great for me this time of the year, maybe try that some time 😁😁😁
Hi Chris, had your channel recommended to me - best tip on a while. Like the links to your gear too. On the Pike - trace or no trace and if yes what poundage? Thanks
What stingers are you using?
Great video. I've just started pike fishing but still yet to catch one. Beginning to think there's no pike in the NW of England 😂🤣😂🤣
Went on the Leeds Liverpool last year and caught 2 pike. Both about 4lb on little rubber lures
What lure system have you used with the hooks and weights attached?
it reminds me so badly how ours rivers used to be... merry Christmas..
A little superglue can help the shallow screw stay in place and not pull out as easily
