I recently had a lil start of stasis scare where one of my buns wouldn’t eat, she was hopping around fine, but i just gave her infacol (Britain’s version of mylinol) and she was eating, and fine after an hour, i also gave her a lil massage but didn’t do it properly, so that probably didn’t do much lol. Also (i’ve had them for almost three months btw) i need to take them to the vet for their first time in our care (rescues lol) soon.
Oh, wow! One of our female rabbits had just recovered from a seizure and gastrointestinal problems. We had to do the same thing too. Our rabbits stay outside (free-ranged and hutched) and we had to keep her inside for awhile till she recovered and she loved her time away from the others
I want to know about the symptoms of this worried about my rabbit, but Ive. Only had him for a week and don’t know his normal habits. All I know is that he ate some puppy pad material On the first day or two that he was here, when realize he was doing it I Adjusted his area so that he couldn’t get to it. My boyfriend said he seemed fine last night, but by the time I got home 11 he was in his hutch and not coming out and I don’t think he came out all night and he hasn’t been out all morning. He’s hardly eaten any hay. He hasn’t touched his salad but he didn’t really eat much of his veggies the last couple days anyway so I don’t know if that’s normal for him if his last owner wasn’t giving him veggies very often. And he hasn’t been out that means he hasn’t had any water cause water was outside of his hutch.
@@kelpie6421 yea I cant remember what was going on at that time but these two rabbits I have proved to be a lot more resiliant than I expected them to be based on the content I see online from rabbit owers.
Aww well I have read and seen other rabbit parents use critical care if they suspect their rabbits in GI stasis. I didn’t have it on hand. I have read that giving critical care and water little by little in syringe every few hours.
I kept my rabbit moving. I woke up every 2-3 hours to make sure she gets up and moves her little body. This is why having a rabbit first aid is so crucial! I am building one now
I'm glad you caught that early! It shows love and dedication to be worried about Anise after giving her medication. You're doing a great job!
Thank you! I appreciate your comment!
