Our GI Stasis Story

- Today's video is a much more serious one. This past week, we had a scare with GI Stasis. Luckily, we were able to catch it really early on, and Cinnabun has made a full recovery.
GI Stasis is a VERY serious topic, and can be brought on by a lot of different things. We are SO lucky that this was just a scare, because I know so many buns are not as lucky.
I do hope that this video is useful. If you EVER notice your bun acting differently, call your vet ASAP. It's ALWAYS better to be safe rather than sorry.
And finally, please remember that I am not a vet. While I have done my research and talked to my vet, I am not a medical professional. If you have any questions about your bun's health, please speak to your rabbit savvy vet. If you don't have one, I really urge you to find one. Thank you all so much for the support this week! It meant the world to us 💕
I absolutely love your channel❤️❤️❤️ this is the best video yet!
You did a great job being there for CB 💕
Aww my...I felt bad when baby Cinnabun was just sitting there not moving...glad she's ok now❤
oh CB I am so sorry I know how hard this is. ❤️ 😢
I'm just soooo glad you vlog the whole proses
When you see that first poop after an episode of stasis, it's like the best feeling in the whole world!
We lost our bunny from stasis. We knew what was happening to an extent but thought she would turn around with some care. We were wrong and we lost our best bun friend. I blame myself every day. We adopted another bun, and after we had her spayed, she went into stasis. We could not get her to turn around soon enough and we took her to an emergency vet 2 hours away and hospitalized her. She is making a full recovery.
Videos like this are critical. I can't bring our bunny back from what happened but I can be sure that it won't happen again to any other bun we have from now on.
Thank you.
Warmth, warmth, warmth and more warmth is the first step if GI occurs as their core temperature absolutely crashes when GI stasis occurs. Getting them warm and keeping their temperature way up is absolutely critical... followed by gentle but firm tummy massages every few minutes. Then to the VET, ASAP !
Really pleased Cinnabun is well on the way to recovery, she's beautiful.
Thanks for that tip.
@@Chorkymom : My pleasure. I did overlook mentioning the massage procedure is best using little orbital movements, adding slight pressure to bun's stomach on the right side just under the ribcage and, following the natural tract of the intestine, circling to the left and down.
Lat time one of mine had GI was after some friends visited with their children, and the kids had been eating salted peanuts. Of course, after they'd left and I let my big lop-eared grandma rabbit out of her indoor run, she thought she'd check to see what might be left, and yep... she found a peanut.
Having swallowed it whole (unbeknown to me at the time, and only evident after she'd been to the toilet some hours later) I spent the next 12 hours with her wrapped in a duvet, together with a warm hot water bottle on my lap, and giving her tummy massages every 5 to 10 minutes. Fortunately, as I massaged her for the nth+ time the problem shifted and unblocked. The giveaway being she began chattering her teeth with happiness and excitedly licking my hands.
The fact it was a weekend when the problem occurred meant my local vet was closed, and the nearest other surgery is over a 3 a hour drive from here, so I had to do my best to solve the prob myself.
Ho-hum... these rabbits... good job we love them, eh ?
Baby gas drops can be a life saver for a rabbit. I have used it many times when our rabbit stopped eating. Sadly, our 7 year old Holland Lop was found to have a mass in him and he stopped eating period. We tried everything and 5 days later we had him put to sleep. It broke my heart. We are of course getting a new Holland soon . Sometimes it's the unknown things that can screw everything up and take away your bunny friend.
@@scottfirman : So very sorry to learn of your little boy, it's a crushing blow to experience such a loss. Not good news.
The only consolation I can offer is the course of action you're already taking... there are so many of them in need of a safe, caring family who'll love them for all their days.
Getting them to a vet really is important, too. Just in case it's not the usual overeating or eating the wrong thing type blockage, as in the case of your boy, it's so heartbreaking.
I hope you find great happiness with your new bun when he/she arrives, nothing ever quite fills the void left by losing any one individual four-legged member of the family of course, but a whole new chapter of bunny love is waiting to be opened.
''it's so frustrating doing every single thing right when it comes to care and still have these episodes''
Worst feeling as a bun mom..
My rabbit pluto had GI Stasis a few months back. I recognised that early and took him to the hospital. he was there overnight which feel like make him worse. I took him back home and forcefully feeding him as he wasn't eating at all. I wasn't aware of these things and also feeding him his treat anytime which actually made things worst as he wasn't eating much hay. Now he is fine and I cut off his treat and vegs and put him on lots of hay. That time was worst for me; I thought I will lose him. but finally, God was kind to me and cured him of the pain
ruclips.net/video/DalRo9scEgg/видео.html 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Omg, my bunny just had GI stasis about a week ago. He ate some plastic on the window sill that Ididnt preciously see. Luckily he was ok. I had the gas drops already and so I gave him that and massage his belly for a long time. Eventually he started slowly eating hay and pooping a little. Then I gave him critical care and within a few hours he was back to normal! It was so so so stressful and I understand how terrible it is.
My bunny has a history of GI stasis. He has much longer hair than a normal holland lop. Ultimately, my vet told me to cut out greens and treats and only feed him timothy hay and pellets. So far he's great and there hasn't been needing emergency vet visits. Lots of love to your little baby
Had a stasis scare with my lil boy a few weeks ago. He’d been having diarrhoea off and on for a few weeks prior (usually 2-3 times a week). Along with his vet, we were monitoring the situation. He was to be on a restricted diet: hay, pellets, water and probiotics for about 2-4 weeks. After week 3, we were supposed to pick up diarrhoea medication. By this time, he hadn’t had diarrhoea in over a week so I didn’t think it necessary (he was behaving fine and eating VERY well. In fact his poops looked perfect and almost golden.) Come the final week: Leo has a diarrhoea relapse. On this day he also hadn’t pooped since the night before. He was eating, drinking and acting fine. I checked on him in the morning, no poop. Checked in the afternoon, no poop. In the evening he still hadn’t pooped and I had a nagging feeling. I knew about stasis and thought I knew what to do should it happen. I had critical care on hand too, but one of the most common symptoms of stasis is refusing food and he was eating VERY well. Still, I had a feeling and so I rushed him down to the vet. We were primarily looking at the causes of his diarrhoea (plus, we had to go to another vet because his usual one was fully booked). We believed his diarrhoea could be coccidia. That’s when the vet noticed a tiny poop stuck to his back foot and we immediately did an x-ray and ran bloods. His bloods came back fine, but his x-rays showed a lot of gas-he was in early stasis. I’m a vet nurse and I know what to do when it comes to other animals. For my bun, I blanked out. After seeing the x-rays I full on broke down outside the clinic. It was very early stasis so the vet reassured me that the prognosis was good.
It’s VERY important to say attuned to your bun. Symptoms may not appear as clearly as what’s in textbooks/internet. I’m so glad you noticed immediately and Cinnabun is doing all better
is your vet specialized in bunnies? restricted diet is a myth and actually damages the bunny more than it's helping. That method is outdated.
it's explained there and under "feeding myths" they go a little more into depth
@@DarkGuerrero123 hi there! Thank you for the concern. His vet indeed specialises in rabbits (and other exotics). The “restricted diet” was mainly to cut out veggies and treats and to keep him on a strict diet (pellets and probiotics twice a day only). This was to eliminate the possibility that his diarrhoea was caused by his vegetables and diet. We discussed how food elimination is nearly impossible with rabbits so this was just to trial and see if his digestive track would settle (it did not lol). The point was to increase his intake of fibre through hay and to keep his gut flora healthy, which would result in his overall immunity. Right now we are very slowly introducing vegetables back to him and he has been started on medication for e.cuniculi as we believe he might have it.
@@chrispychickenandegg ah okay. It's just that dry diet isn't really ideal and can cause into GI Stasis and stuff so I got a bit worried since the ideal thing for the bunny digestion is to have leafy fresh greens available 24/7 and they can get the necessary fiber through that if the greens are chosen well, but there are rarely vets who are educated on that or pass it on (even bunny specialized vets -.-). A bit frustrating to see.
The poop was tested for parasites and everything I assume?
I hope he gets better soon!
@@DarkGuerrero123 thank you so much!! His poops were tested and there was nothing in it that was of concern :( but yes, I was worried about cutting out leafy greens because there is only so much nutrition a bun can get from pellets and hay alone. With Leo it’s been trial and error since he hasn’t been responding to most of the treatments (for both his skin and diarrhoea) so fingers crossed this e.cuniculi treatment works out!!
Hello, I would like to say a tip for giving any bunny medicine in a syringe if you are struggling. Both my boy buns had to get neutered and with that come critical care and medicine. Here is the tip: sometimes it helps if instead of putting the syringe in all the way in the mouth, squeeze I bit out near their mouth and they will lick it . Thos is so they dont actually have the syringe in their mouth.
Hope this helps someone and their bun!
Awesome tip!
Morgan, this is the EXACT same thing that happened with my bun a couple weeks ago. Got up, fed him, he wouldn't touch it...strange...at the vet bout an hour later. And yes, had to wait in the car just like you did... agonizing! All the meds, all the syringes....eeek. He liked those just as much as Cinnabun 😕 Took 24 hours or so until he was feeling better. When I saw him finally eat a piece of hay that is when I cried! Happy tears!
Yes!!! Exactly💕
I was gonna cry when she was moving around, coz I felt sad that she was not like this before, but yay she is okay now! plz don’t blame yourself you can’t do EVERYTHING right, you do the best you can do which is already enough :) anyway, stay healthy and most importantly safe everyone 🐰✨
Thank you ohh so much 💕
So glad she’s doing good. My bun had stasis around a month ago from eating some of the rubber around my kitchen rug & asa she started these symptoms I immediately quit giving her pellets, only lots of greens & hay & a few tips to help if you can’t get to a vet overnight, give critical care if they’re not eating, tummy massages, gas drops & make sure they’re drinking plenty! If not drinking add a couple of drops of orange or fruit juice to their water & TRY to get them to hop or jump up to get the gut moving
my bunny contracted GI stasis and all the vets in my area were closed. i knew the symptoms and thought it would be s good idea to sit her n my lap and massage her belly for about half an hour. i also found out that the kibble we bought from the petshop contained a nut that they weren't allowed. i removed the kibble, said good night to my bunnies and went to bed. the next morning she was feeling much better she hate pretty much all of her food and was moving around like normal. i suggest that if your vets are shut and you dont have these treatments, give you bunny a massage!
I hope she is okay!🥺 its so sad to see her like that😢 take care for cinnabun!💓
I'm glad CB is doing well, I can imagine how scare can be when she got gi stasis.
My bun got GI stasis a month back it was nerve wrecking for me being the first for me. Couldn’t sleep all night and stayed up to nurse him. Sympathy for all bun mom >
Yes! So glad he’s better!
I hope CB gets better soon. My worst fear is my little darling Waffles (who honestly means everything to me) gets GI status whilst I am at school and I am not able to help him as soon as possible. Gosh, I hope that never happens. Don't worry too much about CB, she is a little fighter and seems to be on the mend already!
I’m glad she’s better! It’s scary. Thank you for this video. It helps me understand what to do if this happens to my Gordy. 🤗
I’m so glad!
Emotional support DOES go a long way! If you’re stressed, your bunny can sense it, and obviously them getting stressed while in stasis is not good. Stay calm but alert, and try to be optimistic. Giving your bunny lots of love (while providing them with necessary care for stasis) will gentle urge them to keep fighting to live.
I’ve pulled my female through stasis 4 times now. After having her a year. First time she was with us for 5 days and the stress was too much, 2nd time was her spay, 3rd time was her teeth operation and the 4th time was after I attempted to brush her. The 4th time I didn’t even go to a vet as I knew exactly what caused it and we pulled through
I'm so sorry, please get well soon cinnabun :(
Thank you!
My bun had GI Stasis too, he stopped eating and even refused his favourite treats. Luckily, I found a video which demonstrates a massage for bunnies to help them get there stomachs moving. I rubbed his belly for two hours, and he started to eat. I was super happy to see him recover, that was a very close one!
I am crying, I wish I detected my bunny was going through this on time, and I feel like is my fault 😔 I miss him every day and still hurts

Please watch
What a sweetie.!!.both of you. I know exactly your feelings and when you said you thought you were doing really good not getting too emotional..I burst into tears. Because I know.. These little delightful creations and we got blessed to be THEIR pet guardians.Wat an honor! What a treat! Thanks for being real and you've helped me as a new guardian mommy...I'm a bunny RUclips junkie ha! and google of course. God Bless you Cinnabun and all you touch. Really thanks again for all your videos
i know it’s hard not to blame yourself when something goes wrong but just remember only good bunny owners notice subtle changes like their bun not finishing their breakfast. you did great! so glad cinnabun is feeling better she’s precious. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
oh my gosh!!! this is like a bun parents worst nightmare. i’m so happy she is okay.💚💛💛🧡💜❤️
Aww poor little girl. So pleased to see her recovery. I had a stasis scare a month ago. My mum and I were about to leave town for a couple of days, I’d been planning and had got everything ready to set my two bunny lads up for it, but my lad Virgil just wasn’t right. I watched him carefully for an hour before deciding to cancel the trip and take him to the vets. He was a day patient in the bun hospital and I picked him up in the evening. He’d got gas and that would have lead to stasis if untreated. Like you I was vigilant and picked up on the signs. With meds he made a full recovery. The plan is to go on that break tomorrow… fingers crossed!
Thanks for the upload- Such a helpful reminder of the dangers of stasis.
Owww, I am so sorry for you. Thank God she's okay, you are a great owner 💗😍🙏🙏🙏
I am soooo glad CB is getting better, happy for you! just little tips of mine: maybe give her less treats but more hays with high fiber.
I had a stasis issue with my rabbit. I can relate to your panic
ruclips.net/video/DalRo9scEgg/видео.html 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I had a bunny years ago and I did ALL of the research. I mean hours and days and weeks of research. But at the time I had my first bun information on GI stasis was almost non existent. So I had never heard of it. One day I was I getting ready to feed her breakfast (she was perfectly fine the night prior) and she was sprawled out. I held her until she passed and I never knew what had caused her passing. She had everything she needed. Full bowl of water and hay ect. Now with my second bun as I found out about GI stasis I look back and realize that was most likely what it was and it breaks my heart i didn't know. I had books (I mean note books upon note books) of info and care I had learned for rabbits but I hadn't ever found that. I'm so grateful you share stories like this and spread awareness so I can make sure my current boy never goes through that. I felt like a terrible person as a kid and thought I had killed her amidst all of the work I put in. Thank you for sharing your experience
Ahh PTSD to last month when my rabbit got GI stasis. Awful!!! Thankfully he recovered! Thank you for the video and so glad she is better!!
You did a fantastic job, momma! You are a hero for little Cinnabun when I know she has been your hero for so long. It's super straining physically and mentally for the both of you, so I am hoping you both are now more at rest and are relaxing together. Sending you both tons of love and healing your way.
How relieving to see that Cinnabun recovered well! My own bunny Momo went through her own bout of GI stasis a month ago and it was horrible, she wasn't eating or pooping and had to be hospitalized but she finally made it through after 2 nights of hospitalization (and an expensive vet bill--thank god for pet insurance!).
So glad CB is feeling much better! Was scared at how this video began, now relieved...you are such a good bun mom! 🥰
Aww poor baby! I am glad to know about GI Statsis. So Sorry little Cinnabun. Get well soon
Cinnabun is so adorable 🐰! I am glad she is feeling so much better 💖! Have a great Sunday, Cinnabun! Bunnies 🐰RULE!
I had two lionhead bun buns, brothers, together from the start. They were pals for a whole year, 5 weeks ago we lost one to G.I. stasis :-( it progressed so fast and unfortunately I was not thoroughly informed on the matter. It was so hard to get through the loss for my son and I, but moreso for his brother Machi. Machi is starting to do alot better now he sure was devastated and confused for several weeks. I am so glad you made this video to help educate rabbit owners out there and help save some buns life before it's too late! I only wish I had seen something like this before. I'm so glad your situation had a happy ending! Yay cinnabun 💕😚
My male bun Rory gave me a little scare with this recently. I knew right away something was up when he didn’t go to his food right away at his nighttime feeding, then he would lay kinda funny and press his stomach to the floor or lay to the side looking uncomfortable. I offered him greens and he wasn’t interested. Took him to the er vet and luckily he only had a little gas, they give him fluids and he started eating hay and seemed to start feeling better. They sent home a pack of critical care and some pain meds. He started eating and getting back to his usual self pretty quick so I was very grateful. It’s frustrating because he has a good diet, mostly hay and minimal pellets, fresh greens and only healthy treats occasionally and is free roamed so he gets good exercise. I’m so glad you made this video, it was so helpful. I’m glad to hear your vet suggested the infant drops, mine didn’t but I was curious if that was safe to give them. So glad that Cinnabun is ok and doing better. 😊
Thank you so much for posting this video. I'm sorry I don't use Instagram. I'm really glad Cinnabun recovered, I legit broke down in tears about 3/4 of the way through this video. Your bun videos are so informative. I recently learned how to bunproof my apartment and my rabbit Theo is now a free roamer thanks to all the information you provided with the cord protectors and everything else. I only wish I could post a pic of Theo in here for you to see. Thanks for the inspiration. Glad Cinnabun is better.
Aw, I hope she is okay. You're a great bun mom so u will treat her well. Anyways, here's something I wanted to tell u for a long time:
You’re probably not gonna read this, but here I go!
I am planning to get a bunny in 2 years, after I move out of my apartment that doesn’t allow pets. You’ve been such a great channel for me to watch and do my research. While I also add in other websites and channels, u r my fav. Sry for my improper grammar but I’m planning to write a lot and can’t write in a formal way. U treat CB like how a bunny should be treated. You have told me not to keep my bunny in a cage. CB is so lucky to have a bun mom like u. Today is my Bday. And to be honest, this is the best Bday gift I got today. You make such enjoyable content and such informal vids. You rly inspire me to start a yt when I hopefully get my bunny. I hope u’r years w/ CB are joyful and enjoyable. These sentences r rly scrambled but ya, lol. Also, when u say “Cinnabon Sundays” is it supposed to be a pun for “Cinnabon Sundaes” hehe. Anyways, dis is isn’t as long as expected and sry for making u read so much. Have a wonderful day, Morgan!
I feel rly bad for CB, it’s so disturbing to c her like dat. But glad it’s better.
I am so glad Cinnabun is recovering and that everything is okay ❤️
Thank you for sharing this not-so-great & scary journey specially for us newly bunmoms out there. Definitely a good catch before anything got worse for CB. This made me so much more alert now and there's nothing wrong to be on guard with your baby's behaviors. Though not really an ideal situation, just know that this brought great awareness for me. Get well soon Cinnabun! Praying for both of you, Morgan!
I'm so glad Cinnabon is OK. My bunny didn't make it thru GIstasis. She was eating in the morning but suddenly stopped and wouldn't move. The vet hospital gave her meds and fluids but I found her on the floor the next morning, passed away. I live with the guilt every day of not doing something sooner. It's gut wrenching but thank you for alerting people to the problem. 🥺😢
Thank you and I'm glad she's improving.
When I had a parrot I read EVERYTHING... the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. It helps make you a better pet mom because you can learn from other's mishaps and try to avoid those pitfalls. Pet parenting is not all roses and we need to be prepared for anything.
My poor Dutch bunny Oreo had GI stasis 2 weeks ago and had to spend a few nights in the animal hospital. He's all good now!
That is so sad and I’m sure stressful… you look after Cinnabun so well… hope she gets better 🥺
Feel better soon Cinnabun ❤️ me and my bun love you!
This must have been so scary, prayers to Cinnabun and her Bun Mom!
Wow that made me emotional and I felt so relieved that it all went well, I hope this never happens to her again and to any bunnies 🤧
I'm so sorry Morgan, I just know CB is gonna feel better soon under your care🤍, I'll be sure to keep you guys in my prayers!💕
Great job mom u was on it!! 💯…. It was so heart breaking to see how her personality changed …. Ppl kno your buns!! I’m glad she back to her playful self and eating back regularly 🙃🙃
Omg, thank you for posting this. My bunny stopped eating one day and turned her back to me and wouldn't accept food from me I was panicked and in tears. Turns out she was just mad at me for leaving the house all day. But I thought it was Stasis and it was the scariest couple of hours of my life.
I have to thank you greatly for making this video. I just got my bunny about a week ago and knowing all of the signs and info about anything that could be wrong with her is absolutely so helpful. Your whole channel is so helpful. Please don’t stop, my bun and I love your videos! I think she knows who you are now!
Thank you so much for uploading this video, you saved my bun's life. I'm a new bun mom and he recently underwent a neuter surgery. So a couple of day later, I notice that he was not eating as well, and didn't think much of it as it might be pain related due to the surgery. I started panicking when he refused his favorite treats. So there I was, hands in my hair and stressing, when I found your video on the web. All the symptoms started to make sense. Long story short, I took him to the vet, got some medication and a couple of hours later he is starting to eat again. Thank you so much for saving my baby's life!!!
And I'm so sorry he got GI hope he's now well bless you for being the best owner you can be
Aww Im soo sorry, wish you all the best for you and Cinnabuns❤️❤️
so glad Cinnabun is doing better! ❤️ my little bunny Astrid unfortunately didn’t survive this. i realised something was wrong when she didn’t want her breakfast, and wasn’t interested in her favourite treats, and noticed she hadn’t used her litter box since i’d cleaned it the night before, so i immediately called the out of hours vets. she didn’t seem much worse than Cinnabun (but the vet said she might have been hiding it well) so i made an appointment but just after i got off the phone, she collapsed and was gone. she was only a little 5 month old dwarf bunny, maybe that’s why it became fatal so quickly, but there was less than an hour between her showing any symptoms and her death. it’s been so hard to cope with, especially as i don’t know what exactly caused it and all i can think of is how it might’ve been my fault (like with not so fresh veggies maybe). it’s been 5 days and feels like the pain will never go away.
it was lovely to see another bunny pull through ❤️ cherish ur little buns everyone
I am so sorry to hear about CB, this isn't your fault you are THE BEST bun mom! I'm happy she is progressing! Thank you for sharing this with us! It helps us understand the symptoms and it helped that you explained GI stasis a little bit.
GI stasis is SO scary! I’m so sorry CB had it and you had to go through that. Hugs to you both! ♥️
I have a loaded emergency/first aid kit for my bunnies and when I put it on their instagram, we were shocked to see how many bun owners didn't have one or didn't even think about having one. It can literally be the difference of life or death for your bunny. Everyone should have some sort of emerge kit in their home and that includes for pets, too.
What sort of things do you put in your emergency kit?
Ya can you share what you have in your kit!!!
@@Kristeau I put a lot of time into researching and comparing different kits and what other bun owners had. Things like critical care, electrolytes, syringes, thermometers, heat and cold packs etc. I also have some more medical related stuff that I am comfortable doing because I work in health care. If you don't have a kit, I strongly suggest looking at what pre made kits contain, and if that works for you, go for it, otherwise compare those like what other bunny owners have, like I did and build a custom kit. It was not cheap but when they're having an emergency, it's much more urgent than many other pets.

Aww glad she is ok! We’ve just gone through this with our bunny and he’s just starting to feel better now. It’s so sad seeing them feel poorly 😢 x
I’m sorry 😢 😢 hopefully she feels better soon and she will be happy and bless her 😊❤
Moon had a few health issues but nothing could be more scary than this to a bun parent I really hope she’s all back to normal sending hugs! ❤️
Hope you get well soon
🥺😭
My best wishes to you and Cinnabun. Gi stasis indeed needs fast reactions. It is nice to see how you controlled the whole situation. Cb is lucky to have you. Sometimes with the syringes it might help if you push the medication on their lips instead of the inside of their mouth (if they don't let you), they tend to lick the liquids even if they feel somewhat uncomfortable, I don't know if this causes less stress or no, depends on the Bunny. Again wish health to all Bunnies and Bunny parents around!
I'm soo happy you save your bun baby, I wasn't lost my bun he was a lop like yours ❤️. She is so lucky to have you 🙏😉
Whew! Thank goodness your baby is better. Poor girl. You are a great bunmom! It shows how much time you spend with her has paid off.
I’m so happy she is better. Same for you.
This is exact thing happened to my bunny simba. It started with him just sitting in the same spot. Then we gave him a treat for lunch and refused to take it. We called the vet and booked an appointment for 2 hours later. Luckily he started eating a whole salad and his treats before we were about to go. We still took him to the vets to check he was ok and then said it was just him having a bit of pain in his stomach for a while which then quickly went away. Glad Cinnabon got better.
Oh thank goodness Cinnabun is ok, I started bawling my eyes out when I saw the look on your face and saw the title of the video. Keep feeling better little one from my little baby BonBun and I .
I totally understand how stressful when your bunny is not feeling well. Thank you for sharing. Glad she’s better. ❤️🐇🥰
I'm so glad that Cinnabun recovered, praise God! And thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, you're so selfless and kind!! 🥰
I’m so happy that Cinnabun is okay 🤍 And thank you for filming your experience, it’s kinda comforting to see someone with such an amazing bunnycare go through this so we (your followers, fellow bunny owners) don’t feel alone. Just a month ago my one female bunny had the symptoms of GI statis, so I had to rush to the vet a Friday night. Luckily she recovered really fast! We never found out what led her to getting GI statis. Our best guess is that she simply just react very badly to even the smallest amount of gas or fur in her tummy… Only a few weeks later my one male bunny stopped eating but was still pooping, turned out he had to get his teeth trimmed down. It was a very stressful month and my anxiety was really bad during those weeks. Bunnies really are experts at making their owners scared!
I went through this a month ago with my bun- it's so scary😭 I got home from work and she hadn't eaten her breakfast which was the first sign, along with the hunched sitting in the corner and refusing treats and food. I'm so grateful we live close to a 24hr emergency vet and she was there until 3am when I could finally take her home. She recovered quick but it was one of the scariest things and when a rabbit gets gi stasis, the most important thing is time. You did the right thing noticing red flags of stasis and moving quickly to get her to the vet. My vet told me if I had waited the night it would have been much more serious- time really matters and you really have to catch it quick! I also learned that keeping them warm is super important- the first thing the vet did after her exam was put her under a heatlamp to get her temperature up and that definitely helps! So glad Cinnabun is okay, these things happen and you know her, recognized the signs and did everything right by getting her checked right away!
Dear Morgan, you are such a great bun mom! It’s so special to see the way in which you lovingly take care of precious little CB. She is lucky to have you as her mom. I firmly believe she will make a full recovery. All the best, and thank you so much for sharing🙏🏻🌸
We try to do everything right and this still happens. So thankful everything is ok now! Thank you so much for being real and showing the good and bad.

So happy to hear Cinnabun recovered so quickly! You did right by her - rush to the vet. You never know how serious the problem is. Bunnies are strong but incredibly fragile at the same time.
Thank you for the informative video ❤
I’m so relieved that Cinnabun is getting better! I hope she continues to improve; you are wonderful with her! Have a great day! ❤️
Right now my rabbit has GI stasis so thank you for all of your information and help! 🥰😍😀😊❤🐰
Girl I feel you! My bunny got a respiratory infection and now I’m extra careful when I light candles or use aromatherapy. So much to learn, but I know you’re doing your best these things just happen. Thanks for sharing your experience 💕
Oh my goodness! I'm so glad that she is on the mend. My bunny Chester went through the same thing and it's heartbreaking. He recovered pretty quickly so fingers crossed CB will continue to do the same. Take care of each other. Karyn in Warwick UK 🇬🇧 xx xx
I'm so glad that Cinnabun is doing better! I have two bunnies living with us and I think I'm going to get those supplements etc just in case what happened to you happens to us. I'm so happy for you!!

One of our 2 rabbits, Daisy, had chronic tummy issues. After doing a lot of (frankly, desperate) research on my own outside of our vet we were starting to look into the possibility that she had megacolon, but she passed away early this year before we could figure that out for certain. She still lived to be almost 10 years old despite dealing with stasis a couple times a year. We have learned in all of that experience that the pain medicine is absolutely KEY in recovering quickly. Critical care, sub q fluids and herbs/favorite veggies to tempt them to eat are very important also, but I've learned that once the pain meds kick in, they usually will start to eat more and more gradually until they start to feel normal again. Our other bun Oaks never really had any issues luckily so some rabbits may never go through it, but it's so important to prepare for it ahead just in case. I think they say that most house rabbits will go through it at least once in their lifetime. All this to say that this was a great video! It's good to see the process or recovering from it as it can be so scary, especially to new bunny parents that haven't ever had to help their bunny through it before.
Morgan, i am so so so sorry this has happened to you and Cinnabun! im so thankful she is healthy and fine know! Could u plz, plz plz do a "whats in my rabbit first aid kit video"? Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so sorry that happened to you, i know how it feels when your bunny just won't move
Get well soon ❤️
This is so RAW and REAL, I had to go through this aswell but fortunately the sun did come out and luck was on our side. Cinnabun is so strong💕 Glad she's doing okay
Feel better Cinnabun. I’m so thankful that you opened up to us and let us feel like it can happen to anyone 💕
I am so glad I found this channel, I got my bun yesterday and I am getting my first aid kit together and learning about GI statsis.
Cinnabun is so lucky to have such an amazing mom like you. You inspire me to be the best bunny mom :)
Glad to see she recovered and you were on top of things so quickly. Great to spread your experience so new owners know what to look out for and what to do if it happens to them
Thank god and thank you for being such a responsible owner, and for taking the time to make this important video. It was such a relief to see Cinnabun getting back to normal at the end!
Wow, what a good girl taking her critical care and medicine without needing to hold her! Glad to hear she got over her stasis
I’m adopting a bunny soon and this video and all your videos are so helpful !!
Thank you for sharing what can be terrifying. My husband always thinks I'm overly cautious when the buns don't eat as much or as fast, but after he watch this video with me he has a better understanding and said he will pay more attention from now on.
Your an amazing bunny mama!! It’s cuz you know your baby so well that u caught it soon enough to save her life!! Bravo 👏
Happened to my 1 year old lop bunny too. I administered almost a dropper full of infant simethicone (gas relief), massaged his tummy clockwise and after a short period of time, he started eating again and perked up. still saw the vet the next day. I always have Oxbow Papaya tablets or Sherwood Digestive support around when my buns are shedding. Also, have infant simethicone on hand for immediate symptom relief

I love your emergency kit set up it’s amazing! I can tell you don’t go through stasis very often, as a lionhead owner I go through this about 5 times a year. I have lost one bun to Stasis and I can assure everyone ITS NOT SOMETHING TO DISMISS!
