- We cross the Atlantic Ocean and the Florida straits on Yamaha Waverunner and Sea Doo personal watercraft jet skis from Miami to Bimini. 56 Miles from the Haulover Marina in Miami Florida to Bimini Bahamas. Six jet skis, seven friends, across the ocean with a little less than half a tank of gas left over. In this fun filled aquatic adventure we spend the weekend exploring Bimini on jet skis. It doesn't get any better than Bimini Bahamas a paradise for pristine turquoise water and unspoiled sea life. We visit Honeymoon Harbor and go swimming with sting rays and sharks. We check out a underwater sunken plane wreck from the drug smuggler cartel days and snorkel the SS Sapona, a World War 2 concrete ship wreck reef.

Nice video, May I ask if you do that trip very often, and if that’s the case does the coast guard stops you a lot when you’re crossing? Is that like a waste of time? How much time does it take for them to check your boat and that stuff ?

Why is it everyone seems to think a jet ski is helpless in big water? They will survive rough conditions much better than any small boat. I suspect many comments are from people that have zero experience with them.
I'd love to do something like this! Every forum I read it seems like everyone is super against it for various reasons. I think just picking the right time of the year would be the most important thing. Well and navigation ha

My jet ski is a a Yamaha SVHO supercharged.
I had a little bit less than half a tank so I used about 8 gallons of 93 premium one way.
We did fill twice while we were there. It took us 1hour and 45 minutes to get there traveling between 25 and 45 miles per hour. We carried extra 5 gallons of gas on our PWCSUPERRACK.COM just in case we would need it.
The ocean was pretty flat so we could have gone faster but we were In a group of 6 jetskis so we decided to keep it under 45.
We were able to see Miami for the first 25 miles. From Haulover in Miami to Bimini 56 miles.
Hi, my husband and I have SVHo Yamaha Limited. We made it to Bimini with less then half a tank and the same on the return to Miami.
It was definitely an amazing experience and will be doing it again next year.
I do recommend doing the ride with good weather like what we had.

Goofy question I suppose but I’ll ask. So 60 miles is no big deal (ONE TANK). How did y’all plan for what to take, snorkel gear and what about clothes, shoes, toiletries etc? Limited space on ski of course so what were the “must haves”
You'd be surprised what you can pack inside a jet ski. I'm able to pack a grocery bag, a beach bag with 3 towels, a few shirts, and a few sandals. And a toy bucket for my kid. And I only have a 15 gal internal storage. Some of these have more than twice that. I also strap a medium size cooler on the back for food and drinks. As you can see, they have a few bags strapped on the back of theirs. Hope this helps.

We don't plan the trip with a specific date just when the weather is good we take the opportunity.
