What on earth, Minecraft? What on earth?

I was really confused when I started recording this, but I finally figured out what was happening. I am running multiverse, and I manually changed the configuration file for the map I'm on to be in "peaceful" mode, but I left the flag to allow monsters to spawn set to "True." So it's trying to spawn monsters everywhere, but failing because it's in peaceful mode.
And the reason I can't get near any of them is because the game is set to keep the mobs from spawning right next to the player. Makes sense once I understand, but until then... wow. Weirdness.
